Very easy to install
The hardest part was getting our old vent fan out of our RV roof. Our orig mfr put at least a 1/4” to 1/2” of rubber seal over the old screws and old flange. Great for rain, a pain in the butt to scrape off. There were literally 28 screws in the old vent in the roof to find under all that rubber goop. Once those were all removed , the old vent came out and this new one dropped in place. Only 20 screws on the new one, included. Connect the black and white wires, install the inner shroud inside , and it all works quietly. Total time to replace the fan was 3 hours, but easily 2 or 2-1/2 hours was wrestling the rubber seal and screws off the old vent. There’s a slight “whine” to this new fan at the highest speed which is why I gave it 4 stars, not terribly annoying but we’d leave it on the lower settings if we’re napping or sleeping. Our old camco rain covers don’t fit over the built in brackets on this new fan , so I’ve already ordered new EZ clip rain covers to snap onto these instead. This deff pulls more air and odor out of the RV and is fairly quiet

Current draw of the 4 speed maxxair fan
I came back to write this review because I couldn't find any actual power consumption current measurements for a 4 speed model of maxxfan. Here are my measurements within the capability of the meter being used. Battery at 12.2VDC With the cover open (no restriction) Speed‐DC current draw 1‐0.15a 2-0.62a 3‐1.45a 4‐2.58a With the cover closed (circulation mode) Speed-DC current draw 4‐2.70a The fan is quiet on settings 1 and 2. Setting 3 I would call good white noise. Setting 4 is obnoxious in an awesome way, loud but I had to crack the windows more because they were whistling from the suction. I installed this in a Leer fiberglass truck bed cap with the recommended butyl tape and dicor self leveling sealant. Install was smooth other than I decided to add a 1/2" thick plywood ring on the inside for better support of the hole and garnish as the cap was only 5/8" thick and maxxfan calls for minimum 1" mounting thickness. I also ordered a buck-boost circuit to limit the voltage this fan sees to near 12V as I've seen other reviews damage them when battery voltage rises due to alternator or solar charging. I have not installed this yet.

test the operation before you install!
The fan blades are mounted off axis or something, so it is rubbing against the sides of the housing and making a terrible racket. Luckily I hooked the unit to a 12 v battery to do a dry run before I installed it. I would have been pissed off mightily if I installed it into the roof and then found this out. There is not much space between the blades and the housing, so any skimping on the tolerances could lead to trouble, so watch out. Too bad, because otherwise it looks like a nice fan and it certainly is powerful, even with the performance compromised by the rubbing. I like the lid design especially, with double stays fo the vent cover unlike the original in my camper. I ordered a replacement, hopefully the first was a fluke.

Replacement for a Fantastic Fan in an Aliner
The description calls this a Manxman Mini but it's a Maxxair Mini. This is a replacement for a Fantastic Fan in my old 2002 Aliner Expedition (hard-sided A frame camper) and is a better fit. The old fan was high profile and required multiple riser adapters to fit the Aliner. Even then, the roof (when folding down) would still hit various parts of the fan and break parts off, and always had a water leak around the adapters. The Maxxair Mini is low profile and requires no special adapters. Roof folds down without issues. Has a very nice slow speed on the low setting. There is a slight hum when the fan is running.

not as quiet as previous models
bought this because I have the same model already and love how quiet it is... installed this one and not nearly as quiet... also the metal parts on the older one have now been replaced with plastic on this one... kind of bummed

Mounting flange broken
Fan seems to be of good quality, but there isn't enough padding in the box to protect it. Received a fan with a broken mounting flange.

Good product, better design than fan it replaced.
Good construction. RV ventilation. Moves alot of air. Will need to get the proper vent cover if use one.

Nice addition
I choose the Maxxair because of a review on Tik Tok. I am very pleased with the overall product. Only complaint that I have is the fan when I first turn it in the low speed does not work, it starts then turns off. I am able to use the other 3 speeds. That being said my fan has 3 speeds instead of 4.

A Good Unit To Face Into The Wind
On my Aliner, the powered vent is located on the slope the faces the front of the trailer, and the tow vehicle. Thus it requires a unit with a strong locking cover. This unit has two arms to lift the cover, locking function, manual lift to reduce strain on the house battery, and multiple settings for outward expulsion of air. It is very quiet and looks good installed. I believe it can also be used as a ceiling fan with the vent closed. Very pleased.
