It fixed odor problem in RV
It fixed odor problem in my RV which was annoying. Two things that I wish were different. Material white plastic and it can break down in the future under the sun light. The unit is smaller than the original one therefore you have to mark and pre-drill new holes. It does not come with screws hence you have to pick and buy the right screws which are flat in the bottom of the cap. That way you will not break the hole of the cap if you try to screw in sheet-rock screw or wood screw. There is no tape included that you see on amazon website. Overall it is working perfectly so far.

Instructions Are Way Too Brief and Concise
I am sure that this product will be excellent and work perfectly after it is installed . My 'less than 5-star' rating and comments are all related to the installation and instructions. I have 3 vents and have occasionally experienced sewer gas smell in my 5th wheel, so I resolved to do something about it. I watched the numerous YouTube videos, took notes, and gathered the tools and materials for the install. Climbing on the roof, hauling everything up there, and then chopping off the old vent is a big deal for me. I read the extremely concise and compact instructions about 10 times before I started. Installation is nothing like the YouTube videos. The most current model sold on Amazon and Lippert.com allows the modification of the old vent cap with the 360 vent, eliminating about half the work. However, the instructions are so brief and the parts are so 'versatile' that it takes a while to figure out which parts to use and how to fit them together. The biggest component is the distinctive outer cap and the other parts are adapters and a funnel. Fortunately I was familiar with my vent caps because I checked them last year for blockage, so I was able to determine that 'figure 3' matched my old vent caps giving me a head start on the ground to figuring out the installation. On the roof I removed the old cap and then read the instructions another 10 times before I could completely understand what I was supposed to do. I wanted the vent to work right and didn't want to pass the 'point of no return' without being sure it could be installed correctly. The new vent is GLUED in place along with the usual lap sealant covering the base. Some of the parts that seem essential are actually OPTIONAL. Other pieces are obviously adapters for different sized vent pipes. After the third vent I was sure I was installing the cap correctly. The biggest lesson I learned was that trimming the vent pipe is a big step in the old videos and this is no longer necessary. The install is easier if you have about 1.5 inches of pipe protruding from the old vent cap. Trimming the old pipe to less than 1 inch makes the install a little harder. If you have more than 2 inches you end up with a very ugly looking vent with a black pipe exposed between your white roof and lovely white 360 vent. After I prepared the old vent by cutting the legs, I put components together to check the fit and then reread the instructions (again) to clarify where the glue went and where the lap sealant went. The instructions should be much more extensive with better pictures and step-by-step instructions. There are multiple contingencies for pipe diameters and heights that are hard to decipher. It is hard to determine which components are needed, so a parts list and an explanation of what the parts are for would have been helpful. I hope the glue holds up. I really would have preferred to have a few screws in the process to hold the components in place. Time will tell. If one of these comes off I will have to repeat the process, but I will improvise by adding a few screws through the side to hold it more securely. We are driving from New England to Arizona in December and I will be sure to check the vents on arrival and will update this review then. Maybe I'll also upgrade the review if everything holds up.

Fitwell
Product fitwell after thoroughly digesting the instructions as to determine what style and what method you are going to use to install yet it does not come with the required plastic adhesive so make sure that you have it if needed for your install may or may not have resolved the older issue that I was looking for it to resolve I took one trip after install and I still had a odor present prior to the next trip I installed maxxair roof vents for other reasons and have not noticed any odor on subsequent trips

I think it works
So this took a little time for me to understand how to retrofit this without making a major redesign. I found the instructions a little vague but after some examination of the original vent I figured out the internal funnel only function was to take any rainfall and let it flow down the exhaust tube. They were 4 double prongs around the top of the old base that the instructions said to cut off. I found that they actually helped keep the new bent in place. The only cutting I needed to do was to trim off the screw hole and make that flush. I glued in the funnel to the inside, added some plumbing glue sealer and let that dry over night. I then used the prongs to help insure it didn't sound around, out some good plumber glue sealant on the base then liberally applied that around the seal. I then put some weight on the top and let dry overnight. Everything looks great. I added a zip tie to mine as a friend had his knocked off by a tree branch. I figured it wouldn't hurt and it might save me the cost of a new one later. There was an noticable difference (lack of) in smell coming back into the rig, so I guess it was worth it. The install isn't hard, but it did take me a little while to understand the concept. I original thought the internal funnel needed to be air tight. It wasn't suppose to be air tight inside, just at the base. Once I figured that out, it was a breeze. Not removing the little prongs also helps out from slipping off the base. Unless you're planning on removing the entire old vent of course.

FANTASTIC PRODUCT
My installation was super easy, pop off my existing cap, and this slipped right onto the pipe. Required some adhesive, which does not come with unit, nor does roof sealant if you had a different mounting. This product instantly removed foul black tank odors from inside trailer
