Great product, but beware of small issue

I loved this air fryer lid and how it sits on top of the matching crockpot. It is very versatile and easy to use. I would have given a "5" except that the symbols on the front used to control settings, on/off, etc, started to wear off within 4 months! I didn't use any chemical or harsh soap, so I cannot understand why there is a problem. However, it is difficult to use the product if the symbols rub off. I had to make my own stick on labels so I can use the fryer. Still a nice product. Just beware that the symbols might start to rub off.

Buttons

The buttons or controls the icons just wiped off after sevral uses. Now need to figure out how to make it so we no what's what.

great little air fryer

...used it on my Crockpot for crunchy shrimp, frozen hashed browns, Baffalo wings and even Farmer John sausages!!!! Cooks quick and hot n crunchy, but watch carefully because the heating elements are close to food and will brown or burn easily... occasionally flip food for best results!!

Great if you have a compatible slow cooker.

I received this from Amazon Vine to review. We already had the large HB slow cooker which this is made for, and we also have the Instant Pot Duo (which functions as an air fryer as well). I decided to try this because I thought the air frying basket would be bigger than the IP Duo's, and it is, but only a bit bigger, and the IP Duo has a double layer basket. So, you can fit bigger pieces of food in this one, but more food in the IP Duo. Overall, this is a good product. It is easy to use. The controls are very intuitive. It heats up quick, and does a good job cooking as an air fryer. It actually has a sensor in the handle, so when you lift the handle to open it halfway through the cook cycle, it pauses the cooking automatically - which was a pleasant surprise - so you don't have to reset it after flipping the food. The only negative about this unit, and the reason for the 4 stars, is the basket. It is a fine wire basket, which actually functions very well. The annoying part is clean up. The wire basket is a pain in the behind to clean. We had to leave it soaking in the pot with soapy water for a couple of hours, then clean it with a brush. A perforated, non-stick basket would have been a better, easier design. Bottom line: If you have a compatible slow cooker that you like, this is a great option for an air fryer. It works well, and it takes up less space than the slow cooker + air fryer. Just know that the basket takes a bit of work to clean.

Easy to us air fyer

This fryer was easy to just pop on the crock pot and use. Was not too hard to clean and made some good fried chicken.

Slow cooker becomes fast cooker

Having a 6 quart Hamilton Beach cooker made me eager to try this addition to the cooker, it is more than an accessory to the slow cooker, it changes it to another appliance and is very simple to use. The lid is removed from your unplugged slow cooker, a fry basket is then inserted and you place the air cooker on top. Set your dials and press start, the machine pretty much does the rest. Capacity is limited, I was able to fit four large chicken thighs in the basket, they cooked much faster than expected and I would use a lower heat next time, but for a first try, the chicken was moist and very tender. The air fryer has another feature that has many possibilities. After preparing a slow cooker dish such as a casserole, unplug the cooker, place the air fryer on top and brown the casserole. My green bean casserole will benefit from this feature. The ad says that this cooker will work with multiple brands, so you could use another brand you might own, but I did not test for that factor. There is a stand to place the air fryer on when it is hot, a helpful addition.

Your Crock Pot Just Got a Makeover

Keep in mind that this is just a lid that is used to turn your 6 quart oval-shaped slow cooker into an air fryer. You only receive the lid mechanism which is all you need if you already have the crock pot. It's an innovative way to give your slow cooker multiple uses and to keep you from having to buy one more appliance that only does one thing! Easy to clean and store. The push button is easy to use. No problems with the LED screen either. Great temperature control and the fry basket that is included is an added bonus. Not a bad price either. Would buy again or give as a gift!
