It is smaller than I expected

This not for a big dinner but you get what you pay for. I’ve used other fryers but never paid attention to size. I can cook for 2 people on this very easily. 3 to 4 servings it still doable 5 and up you are to be eating at the fryer

Patience, Prudence

Traded one in that didn't get hot enough. Got this one based on brand name and reviews. It still takes a bit of time to snap, crackle and pop but I am not in a business of making fried pork rinds. I do it for my granddaughters, who love the stuff. A little off-putting that the heating element is in direct contact with the oil, but it works. I'd still like one that goes to, like, 425 F, just for the time savings and the lack of grease absorption, but still, it works FAR better than the one I'd bought previously that wouldn't get above 325 F. Yah, highly recommend for small quantity, home use.

Perfect size and very easy cleanup

Yesterday I made fried chicken and was really impressed by how well this item worked! Having read some reviews, a few people complained that the yield was too small. I haven’t found that to be the case at all. I recommend this oil fryer.

I like it but

It works great. But to fully emerge half the basket you have to overfill on the oil so that means the baskets bottom will still hang in the hot oil when your pulling food out. I don’t like that it doesn’t have an off switch. Just a temp switch. So you have to plug it in Everytime which wouldn’t be so bad if the plug on the fryers side didn’t fall out so easily. Other than that, it’s great. I use it all the time.

Never had a deep fryer before, this one seems good?

I'm a competent home cook but never owned a deep fryer before. We all know they are not particularly healthy and I was always worried about using one and having it stink up the house (and yes, it does). However, I finally broke down and bought this one after my kids really wanted to try making a couple things (onion rings and fry bread in particular). So not having anything to compare it to, here are my thoughts... GOOD: It feels reasonably well made and easy to use. The sides stay cool and it's nice that you can raise the fryer basket out of the oil without opening the lid. It heats up quickly and seems to maintain the oil temperature pretty well. And I like that is disassembles for cleaning and that the entire oil bin can be removed for storage (in the freezer...I read that this was a good way to extend the life of fryer oil). BAD: It's pretty small. Our first use was onion rings and we could only fit 2 at a time in the basket otherwise they just stuck together. Same goes for the donuts we made, 2 small donuts was all we could fit. I imagine that if I was making french fries for our family, it would probably take at least 2-3 batches to make enough for everyone and there is no way you could do a "blooming onion"...unless your onion was extremely tiny. It's also a bit weird to clean...the basket and heating element/front panel all come out. But the heating element is particularly tricky to clean. Also, you get oil splatters all over the inside of the lid. OVERALL: I was right to avoid getting a deep fryer. They are just kind of messy and gross. On our first run, it instantly stunk up the house (even though I had it under our stove vent running full blast) so now I'm only using it outdoors or possibly in the garage. It's gross to clean. And the oil gets so hot and takes so long to cool down that you have to basically let it cool off in the garage overnight before you can clean it. None of these complaints are a knock on this particular item though...just deep frying in general.

Excellent little fryer

Very convenient. Removable top, heats up really quickly and disassembles for easy cleaning. I highly recommend this fryer.

Works sufficiently with an obvious flaw

As others have commented, this is a good-sized unit for most foods. It heats quickly and works well. There seems to be an obvious design flaw unless I received a defective fryer: you can't close the lid with the basket submerged. Closing the lid pushes the handle back which raises the basket out of the oil. You are left with almost nothing submerged in the oil or you have to leave the lid open. (Or don't use the basket) It seems like this is an obvious issue since you should be able to submerge the food and cook it with the lid closed.

Wonderful, Safe and Easy to Use

No worries about hot sides or spattering grease. It fries foods perfectly on each selected setting. For an entry level deep fryer you are getting a higher quality experience with great cooking results . Love it!
