I really want to love this fan, but is my fan defective or is the hum normal?
I really like the design and the remote control. I have other windows fans. The remote is a big plus compared to the others. I have the same brand window fan but it is a manual switch and Holmes HAWF2043. It also seems to push air pretty good but I am really leaning towards returning this fan because of the steady humming sound this fan makes. I am wondering if my fan is defective or it is just a bad design. If you don't mind a low steady humming noise this fan is good. For me it is bothering me because I sit 4 feet from where the fan sits in the window.

Great fan for its price range
This is a fantastic little fan for its price range. Powerful but not too loud. My one gripe is that the green "ON" light and the red "Function" lights are far too bright. I had this in the window by my bed and I could fully make out all the details of my room with no lights on. It is so absurdly bright. I covered the lights with tape and black marker which helped but it still seems a bit excessive to have the lights that bright.

Good fan
The media could not be loaded. I really like this fan and I would love it if turning it on and off wouldn’t beep so loudly. Pros: When it is running it is a nice white noise. The different functions are great, you can bring air in or draw air out. I run it a lot to air out my old house. The remote is handy. It has little removable filters/covers to keep it clean longer. Cons: The on and off beeping sounds are loud. The clips to hold the extensions in place aren’t great. I can’t get them to stay in place, but, I have a window screen so it isn’t a big deal for me. I might try to find the sound piece on the motherboard and disable it.

Yeah, there's a hum...
Needed to replace a previous fan from a different manufacturer. That fan did not last that long until bearings in motors started to go after less than a year. This model had the requirements I was looking for- intake/exhaust WITHOUT having to turn the whole thing around. It also had good size fans for a good flow rate, and would fit easily in a window. There was one 'semi-major' downside, which I will get to. Airflow/Fan noise is pretty quiet- however the fan motors do have some hum. Pretty standard for an electric motor at a relatively budget price point. It isn't distracting in my situation- it is in a kitchen window and not noticeable from any other room, so that's a moot point. It is more powerful at the medium level that the last one was on 'High', so I don't need to run this one as hard, which keeps that hum down as well. One little problem is that it is JUST a bit too narrow- even fully extended, for that window. So when it is running it would buzz a bit since it vibrated against the frame. No big deal, a strip of foam on each side fixed that as well as any draft from outside slipping past the edges. The "Semi-Major" issue is, what I think is a design flaw. The AC cord exits the unit WAY TOO LOW. Put it in the window track, and there is a conflict with that cord. It just doesn't fit right when trying to settle the upper window against the top of the unit. It tilts forward which then means it won't fit in the lower track very well. Again, I needed to find a strip of dense foam to raise the fan up a bit so the cord clears the bottom track and will sit vertically. (I will take a photo and update in a bit, not at home at the moment) Remote is a bit cheap looking and feeling (no batteries supplied), but it DOES have one. Probably never use it, but hey... Otherwise it is a good replacement for the previous fan at a reasonable price.

Mild humming noise
It hums much like an industrial light, not too bad. Sides are a little flimsy and I ended up taping them to the stretch I needed. There was no remote in the box

Shoddy wing clips and poor automation capabilities
I bought two of these window fans because my old window fan was falling apart, but now I kind of wish I didn't throw it away. I selected this fan based on reviews and the fact that it had a remote which I could use to automate the fan. The main problem is that the clips that hold the wings out do not securely catch. Installing it in the window took an inordinate amount of time because to get it just right, do you need it to be level and since the clips don't hold well, getting both pairs of clips to securely latch in place while holding the fan level above the dip in the windowsill, took numerous attempts before the clips actually stayed in place. It was very awkward to install. Then, installing the screen and filter also took a lot of struggle and dexterity. These are not easy to install fans. Lastly, I was going to use my IR blaster to control the fan, but since the button options are all toggles, there's no way to be sure that the fan is turned off or on or that any of the settings are what you want them to be, such as speed and direction. It would be better if they had separate buttons for on and off, the different direction, options, and the different speed options. I know that for most people this won't be a concern, but the struggle with the clips holding the wings out was the main reason I decided to submit a review. It was really frustrating to install. Compared to my old fan whose clips held securely, I regretted purchasing these fans.

Adjustment to fit my 22.5" window
I took a risk and order this fan for my 22.5" window. With a simple adjustment, see my photo, it works beautifully. The fan is quiet and now I don't have to manually turn the fan around to exhaust hot air!

The side-extenders lock seems a bit flimsy. Overall very good value.
PROS: It has good bi-directional fans that move the air well (even in 300sqft room). CONS: The side-extender lock seems delicate and the remote was sometimes finicky. CONSIDERATIONS: You'll have to take it out of the window often or take (security) precautions to secure the window it's in.

I purchase this Comfort Zone Cz310R Twin Window Fan because I wanted to get some fresh air
I purchase this Comfort Zone Cz310R Twin Window Fan because I wanted to get some fresh air from outside into my house and make a draught or some nice cooling breeze I saw it on Amazon.co.uk so I thought everything else I buy on this website is usually made to use in the UK I've up by batteries or plug sockets or television's anything really so I trusted Amazon and I usually always get what I purchase we keep having heat waves here in the UK so I finally had enough and I wanted to get a window fan I looked on Amazon and this one looked like it was the best I didn't really look at the reviews I was just excited by the picture and what you can do then I purchased "Comfort Zone Cz310R Twin Window Fan" and I was excited because it came earlier than expected but when I open the packaging and got the product out I notice something unusual the plug socket was not made for the UK after looking it up I realise it's for the American use I'm not quite sure about Europe because we have different plugs there too but obviously I cannot use it in the UK I emailed the product supplier and they said they apologise and I could send it back and if the product I'm sending back I had to pay for to return it cost more than 20 pounds I could get my money reimbursed I went down to my local post office to send it back and they said becausr it came from America and it was so heavy it will cost £170 just to return it and I bought this for £95 so obviously it wasn't worth it. I had to look up on Amazon a plug socket what can do USA to UK plug adapter an I purchased it and hopefully it will arrive tomorrow obviously I can't be sending it back because it costs far too much compared to what I paid for it. I will not be buying from this supplier again it's just way too much hassle to return it an too much hassle just to look up its mistakes when I should be enjoying my product. Functions with some QC issues
Pros: - When the clips hold, it creates a decent enough seal in a window for great circulation - Powerful fans, no doubt work great - Remote is a nice touch - Hard to find anything better in the price range Cons: - Motors are rather loud. I have a 25" fan that runs infinitely quieter than this thing. I think this was a poor choice of motor, but hard to say. I'd describe it as a constant electric hum. Like if you sat in a quiet room and just calmly exhaled a hum... that, but constant. And that's on low... - Plastic clips lasted barely till out of the box. They're used to hold the extension bit in place, but they're designed SOOO poorly that getting them to stay at max is near impossible. I will be fashioning tiny wooden blocks to hold it in place myself. - No mute for the beep (occurs at every setting change, even on/off). Believe me at 11pm, that beep will wake people. Overall, I'll live with it. I don't regret my purchase, i'm just disappointed with quality control. If working in an office, noise cancelling headphones do a fine job.

I'm sure it is nice in the USA but here in the UK it ...
Item does not list the voltage. I'm sure it is nice in the USA but here in the UK it is not suefullas it would mostly just produce smoke. Should have the voltage listed on the product. Had to return from overseas... what a pain.

EXCELLENT FEATURES, PERFORMANCE AND RECOMMENDED
This fan works very well, gets the job done, and easy to control with buttons or remote. The twin blades bring cool exterior air in, or take interior air out, or both at same time, which is the biggest positive, without manually having to lift and rotate the machine. The size is 23 ¾ x 12 x 3 ½ inch and fits inside the side sliders double window panes track or in front of the interior front pane on window sill. The two legs attach by a clip and supplied screw on bottom and is another useful positive and prevents fan from falling or blowing over if sitting against the window, or on a flat surface. Fan has a moderate weight, hand carrying indentation, and stable white plastic frame. Comes with elastic bug screen cloth filters for front or back side of fan frame and used only when fan is off. The only three minor negatives are the buttons on the grey front control panel are impossible to see to activate, but the remote is easy and effective from five feet away; the on/off/changing buttons have a very loud chirp sound; and the fan motor (not the blades) has a slight hum sound. This is an excellent fan, at a very competitive price. Highly recommended.
