An efficient garden helper
This is a review for the Esschert Design Canvas Tool Belt by Esschert Design. The first thing I noticed when I took this out of the bag was the sturdy reinforced stitching. The belt is wide and easily adjustable with a solid fastener clip so there's no chance of pinching or cutting into your waist. The pouch can slide around to whatever position you find most comfortable and I find that it's handy to slide it over to my hip when I'm crouching. Some reviewers felt that the pouch itself was too large but it might be good to remember that this isn't a "tool" tool belt like you'd use for construction. You wouldn't use it instead of a belt holster for your pruning shears either (although you could slide it onto the belt with room to spare). This tool belt style works best for me because I don't like the bib apron style because it feels too warm and I don't like the pulling on my neck. I put my permanent marker, small stakes, etc. in the front holders. Cell phone and notepad go in the small pocket. Pruners, soil knife, and trowel get stashed in the medium pocket, and I use the big pocket to hold my deadheading debris. When I'm not deadheading, the big pocket is good for holding seed packets and such. This is a perfect solution for daily upkeep though I'll still carry a bucket for less frequent larger projects. I'm one of those people who leave a trail of tools and gloves as I go through the garden and this is exactly what I needed to be more efficient. I'm definitely getting more done in a shorter period of time which means more time to kick back and enjoy the garden! Note: You will want a sheath to hold any sharp clippers and put them either in the pocket or slide onto the belt. Please don't stow them blade up as is shown in some other gardening tool belt ads. Yikes! If you found this review helpful, please remember to click "yes" below. Thanks and happy gardening!

I wouldn't buy it again-
I bought 2 of these, they were fairly inexpensive and I wanted something handy for garden tools. The problems I ran into are.. Belt not short enough for a small woman's waist or even hips! If you wear a size 6 or 8, you'll have to do adjustment for the I bought two of them so my daughter could have one and she was able to adjust the belt to fit her. I wish I had a better belt to use and will look for a simple workman's belt. The pocket is poorly designed and could be constructed better. I liked the slots for marking pens and pockets for plant labels as well as 2 larger pockets for scissors or trimmers. With the pocket worn on my right hip, I feel off balanced, so I ordered another brand of 'pocket' that I could string on the belt to balance it. The other brand is equally poorly made and just as awkward to wear. I would have returned the tool belt and pouch but I used it hard, there was dirt mud and regular garden debris in the pouch and, it really wasn't very expensive. I do get 2 pair of trimmers, a small pair of scissors, a pair of smaller flower cutting snips, Sharpie pens and plant label stickers to put in front of my plants.

Good Size, Very Helpful
Wasn't sure how this would work for me, based on other reviews, but it's turned out to be useful. Rarely garden without it. The tiny pocket holds twine and I can reach for scissors and pruners in the medium pocket, with gloves in the big pocket. I can also slip small veggies in the big pocket if needed. Dirt wipes or hoses off easily. Bought one for my sister and she's finding it handy too. The only problem: The belt is enormous and wrapping it around/out of the way is a pain. Add a belt loop/keeper or shorten the belt!

comfortable
i love this belt. IT holds all my gardening stuff and more. I would say that i would like at least one of the pockets to be a bit wider to hold my larger gardening items. But overall - it was so worth the money and I absolutely do not go in the garden and landscape projects without. IT is a MUST!

Everybody wants one
I love it! In fact it works out beautifully for my job in the garden department at a retail chain. I can carry all the things I need plus a bottle of water! Everyone that works there that has seen it also loves it and one person actually had to get one for themselves. My supervisor saw it and wants to get it for some of the other merchandisers (like myself) for Christmas gifts! Thank you, its excellent!

great gift for my gardening wife
When my wife and I bought a 1775 antique cape that we moved to from a condo in a small town in New Hampshire, I bought her this belt so she could play in the dirt to her hearts content. This will be the 2nd season she'll use it while I'm working on the computer inside....

JUST RIGHT
This tool belt is exactly what I have been looking for- and at a great price. I have customized my tool holsters and still have plenty of room for any add-ons. Since I'm always adding something, this was definitely the way to go.

Makrs a great gift...
...for the gardener in your life. I gave it to my daughter for Christmas and she was very pleased with it.

Glad I bought it.
I write this not so much as a review of this belt as compared to other belts, but for its use as compared to not having one at all. It's great! No more putting down glasses (glasses!) trowel, secateurs, pens, twine, labels, etc., and then spending ages looking for them. And possibly never finding them again... until just after you've bought a new one. I can't comment on its long term sturdiness but it seems tough enough and it's comfortable to wear. Some people say the waist band is a bit too small/large. Well, everyone is a different size. I find it quite long, but better too long than too small. My only quibble is that it is hard to do up behind- I have to pull it round the front to do it up. Otherwise I have no complaints. Wish I'd bought one years ago!

Ideal for other things, not just garden tools!
Just what I wanted - I work from home, have 2 young children and spend a lot of time out in the garden with them between phone calls. I don't have enough space in the pockets of my jeans for all of the 'stuff' I need to carry with me so wanted something which left me 'hands free' to play with my sons whilst having everything readily available as required; I am sure this would be fab for gardening tools as intended but mine is filled with mobile phone (the smaller pocket is perfect for this), tablet (the slot at the rear is ideal with lots of space to spare), keys, secateurs, tissues, lip balm etc. It is a great time saver when coming in for lunch to simply unclick the belt and then pop it on again afterwards when going back outside rather than having to empty and then refill pockets. The fabric is thick and hard wearing, plus the colour means it doesn't show up smudges too easily. The only minor improvement I could see is the pockets have no fastenings on them (clearly useful when popping a trowel or gardening gloves in) - given the contents of mine I've stuck a small square of velcro onto the top of the pockets I use for my phone and tablet so they don't fall out if I'm bending down. Great price, paid for 1st class royal mail delivery and it arrived the next day. Brilliant!

Couldn't get much better
I had wanted a toolbelt with practical pockets, rather than loops which would take some tools but not others, and a wide belt that I find is more comfortable when carrying stuff than a narrow one. The pockets comfortably accommodate a couple of tools like secateurs, trowel and other bits and bods etc whilst not being so roomy as to tempt the user to carry everything but the kitchen sink, and are deep enough when bending down for stuff not to fall out. This fits the bill exactly. Before spending my loot, whether with Amazon or any other firm,I invariably look at a few other websites to try and get more views of something that catches my eye to reduce the risk of an unwise purchase. This ticked the boxes very early on.

Worth every penny
If you garden, you know that you go out to do one thing and then find half a dozen other things that need doing, but you don't have the tools to hand, so you have to go backwards and forwards to fetch them... I bought this bag on a belt to help with this and since I bought it, over a year ago, I have used it constantly. It always holds a ball of string, scissors, snippers and garden gloves, so I can instantly attend to all the dead-heading and tieing in that needs doing. I can add bundles of labels, marker pen, trowels, small forks. It is one of the best things I've ever bought.

Handy piece of kit
Not a fashion item and I expect my neighbours may think I’m a tad eccentric wondering around my garden in this, but I like it. It’s bigger /wider than it looks in the picture, I’m quite narrow and it fits me like an apron - I have to double fold and clip the strap with a peg as it is too large for me even on the tightest setting, my only moan, but it’s fine, comfortable otherwise with a nice wide strap and nice deep pockets. I don’t end up leaving my secateurs lord knows where any more.
