Bothered by quality corner cutting
I liked the reduced closing tension of this closer—that's what I was looking for. But the signs of cutting corners in terms of the build of this product gave me little confidence, and I am returning it. First, there have been numerous comments about the closer rod quickly rusting. I was prepared to live with that by periodically wiping the rod with WD-40. Second, the first attached photo shows how on the Prime-Line (lower) the short pin that connects the door closer to the door frame passes through one metal flange, not two, as is the standard with door closers (upper). To counter the inherent wobbliness of that type of pin connection, Prime-Line gives you a pin with a split end, so that you can pry the two sides of the end apart to help stabilize the pin. Of course, that tells you something about the metal they used for the pin. This connection probably is strong enough…but come on. The third and most significant drawback for me is shown in the second photo that, if you can make it out, shows the door side of the closer. The Prime-Line is the black closer. On the Prime-Line, the shoulder at the end of the closer that has the hole that receives the pin connecting the closer to the door is much shorter than on other closers. That means that the bracket that mounts to the door frame butts right up against the body of the closer. In fact, that shoulder is a tiny bit too short, and this results in the holes in the door bracket not being able to perfectly line up with the hole in the closer shoulder. Because of this, the pin does not just drop cleanly through the holes, as is normal; you have to wiggle and work it through because of the friction. Once the pin is in, it works fine. But I want to be able to quickly remove the pin in case I want to open the screen door wide, which closers don't allow. With the Prime-Line closer, I would have to hammer the pin up to begin to free it and use a pair of pliers to finish removing it. With normal closers, you can just pop the pin right out (after removing the pressure on the pin by sliding the hold-open clip toward the barrel, of course). Finally, the fact that the corners that have been cut do not result in a lower price for this product—in fact, it is more expensive than many of the standard and even some of the heavy-duty door closers that are available—leaves a bad taste in my mouth. This product is not for me.

Great for lightweight screen doors
This is perfect for the extra lightweight old wooden type screen door. I Originally Purchased a normal screen door closer and it was way too hard on the little lightweight wooden screen door.

Great product
The media could not be loaded. Verrry easy to install for even an amateur handyman. It took less than 10 mins to install without reading the instructions. Some people on here say that the door won't latch with slow closing yet you have to turn the screw at the end of cylinder counterclockwise to adjust how fast or slow you want door to shut. As seen in the video above my door shuts and latches just fine after adjusting the screw. Great product, good price, and very happy with purchase

Great product, works perfectly.
For many years I have very using a hydraulic closer made by the Chinese White Company available at my favorite HomeDepot, however the unit started leaking oil, and new replacement units weren’t lasting long and also leaking oil. The closer from Amazon is a pneumatic closer and the only closer I found available of its type, and it works great and doesn’t leak.

Initial impression very good!!
Local stores all seemed to carry only Wright products, which were the wrong size for my need. So I bought this through "Prime" as something to quickly get me by. But it seems much better(IMO) than the one it replaced. Every time it's had to, the door has "very" smoothly & "very" quietly completely closed. My old one was also a 9" closer, so other than changing out the door mount bracket(I didn't need to drill any new holes), it was simply a case of lining up each end to it's proper mount & inserting the lock pins. It took 1 flat-head screwdriver & about 5 min. total to install. And adjusting the closing speed regulator is simple & probably a one-time only deal. All in all, I'll be perfectly content if the quality in this product stands up to at least several years of moderate use in our occasionally extreme SoCal desert weather!

Stopped working
It's been installed for a year. A couple of months ago it started, it switched from closing the screen door gently to propping it wide open. It actively resists closing, now. Boo.

Perfect product when you need to replace a lanai enclosure screen door closer
This product was an excellent option to replace the smaller size closer needed for a lanai enclosure screen door. It was such a perfect fit I was able to remove the old closer by popping out the pins and simply replace it with the new closer. At most it was a two minute job; including the closing adjustments. Best of all it can be adjusted to close slowly and then gently, and quietly, close against the door frame. No more slamming at the last 3" like the other standard size products that are just to strong for this type of screen door.

Old school closer...
Installed right into the existing holes of similar older-type of these. If you have an older model home or older screen door and need an exact replacement, this is the one.
