It makes my cooking life easier!

I have some other bench scrapers, but this does the job for gathering chopped veggies to transfer to a skillet with no spill. Easy to use, easy to clean, and convenient to store, use it all the time,

Great for home

This is also great for cutting up fruits and vegetables and being able to scoop him up for cooking. I'll be trying to scrape them. This thing works excellent for cut up vegetables or anything for cooking

Works great

We use these in our kitchen all the time for scooping up cut food. We bought this specifically for unloading trays for freeze dried food from our dryer. It is narrow enough to fit the trays.

SCOOPER NEEDS SOME TWEAKING

I had one of these years ago and I wanted to purchase another one. I prefer my old one. This is great quality metal to start with but when you wash it water gets trapped inside unless you turn it a certain way And if you dice onions real fine they can also get trapped inside. The metal needs to be a little thinner in order to scoop things better or either beveled on the end. Don’t get me wrong it’s a handy little kitchen tool for someone who cooks a lot like myself but hope the manufacturer will make some changes.

Food prep tool!

The media could not be loaded. - If you’ve read any of the other reviews on the product you would think that this product has drainage issues and the lack of clearance under the handle that may cause food to get stuck and water to pool and cause this product to rust. On both accounts I am happy to say the previous reviews were wrong. The sides of the food scoop have drainage cut outs for water, and the opening beneath the handle inside of the scoop area is sizable enough to not allow food to get stuck. I primarily use this to practice knife cuts on potatoes, and will frequently do a fine brunoise to maximize the amount of cuts I can make per potato. For reference a fine brunoise is very very small cubed looking dice. 1/16” cubed. I haven’t yet to get any food stuck in the scoop and have to say of the other previous food scoops I’ve tried which did not have the side walls like this one has this is by far the better design for my application. - The scoop capacity from my testing will hold a large russet potato after I’ve cut it up. The finish is very smooth and has a nice feel in my hand. It makes quick work of transporting processed food off your cutting board and into your cooking pot! I would highly recommend it for home cooks and professionals.

Identical to the HIC version

To me the HIC version looks identical to this one in every respect. Both this one and the HIC version is highly magnetic. Since food grade tends to be non magnetic I question what kind of metal it is. However it does pass the lick test, I lick it to see if it taste like metal, it does not so that is a good sign that it is a non reactive metal so that is a good thing and I am reasonably pleased since food will not sit on this metal for long. It is about 6 inches wide and 6 inches long, with 5 inches available to scoop with because of the handle. youtube code: T4F9nocdu50

The open handle is not an issue. First, the unit is large, so unless you have a huge pile to pick up, the food will not even reach the back. Second, the opening under the handle is also large, so food can easily be washed out or picked out, and water can leave the open area and the unit can dry. That is important. Because I read the reviews about the handle on this one, I first bought another similar one with a handle covered with silicone. That one is smaller, and there are tiny crevices between the silicone and the metal where food and moisture can get in and be trapped. THAT is a problem, but this one does not have that problem. With this one, the food and the moisture can easily get out. So the handle on this one is open for a good reason. This is large, sturdy, and well built. If you are deciding which food scooper to get, I recommend this one. I am very germ conscious, and it is clear to me that this one does not pose a problem. It picks up my food from the chopping board swiftly in one scoop, so I can transfer it. By the way this one is made in Taiwan, a democratic country. I gave it 4 stars because the railings on the side get in the way and prevent it from scraping the cutting board to corral the food together. So this does not function as a bench scraper except when scraping it backwards. In that case it works.

Love this kitchen tool!

I never thought I needed one of these, until I had one. I am always chopping things for salads, veggies, etc. and this is the handiest little tool. It is well built and very sturdy. Love it!
