Great percolator!
I love this coffee percolator! It is very easy to use and clean. It gives you complete control of the quality of your coffee. I highly recommend this Coleman coffee percolator to coffee lovers like me! :)

Love this pot
I used to have a stove top pot that had this ring in between the lid and the glass nob, but it would leak coffee when I poured. Then I purchased one that had the lid attached to the pot. Worked well until I bumped it and I had coffee and grounds all over my kitchen floor. Then I got this one and both those issues were gone. I love to stove perk my coffee because the coffee doesn't taste burnt like it does when using an auto drip maker, and I never have to worry if I unplugged an electrical perk when I've left the house for work. Makes the best coffee too

Nice
Excellent quality! Perfect size! I just needed a wooden or plastic handle so I sent it back because I percolate over a stove not a campfire

Great Percolator Coffee Maker for Coffee Lovers
The only thing I did not care for is that my glass knob was broken! It was wrapped in plastic and then cardboard and was still broken. Is there any way I can get a FREE replacement glass knob delivered that's not broken?

Easily and deliciously brews 4 large cups of coffee!
This is the best coffee pot I have ever owned. Made with solid and heavy stainless steel and it brews the best coffee I have had in a while.

Great perculator!
We don't have many blackouts, but recently had one in the morning. We cook with gas ( l realize some people think that a sin), so power being off is no big deal. We can still cook. I really wanted a cup of coffee, but with no power Keurig would not work. I didn't want this to happen again, so I ordered this percolator. It's made of heavy stainless steel. The lid is designed not to fall off when pouring. Easy to clean. Use a filter made for perculators, also use a course ground coffee. This well help keep grounds in the cup. Since I've been doing this, I've had No grounds in my cup.

Heavy Duty Coffee Pot
This thing should last forever. Delicious coffee, too. Will definitely be part of the camping crate from now on. If you’re looking for cheap and light, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for the last camping pot you’ll ever need look here.

I think i cracked the secret!
Do not use this percolator with less than half full of water. The percolation (?) needs a lot of water to consistently hit the glass knob and be dispersed over the filter/coffee basket. I tried with 4 cups of water, the water would boil, but the bubbling would never reach the glass knob. You hear the water boil, and knock against the basket footing, but the water doesn't get high up enough in the stem for it to dribble into the coffee basket. Eyeball it (after you filled it a couple of times, and pour out the water in a measuring bowl), put in the coffee, bring to a boil, and watch the color change of the water (now slowly becoming coffee ;-) ) 6 Cups of water seemed to have a good amount of percolation, and after 20 mins (about 10 mins to get the water to boil, then 10 more minutes of percolation) about 5 cups of coffee was left in the pot. So, keep in mind the evaporation. Add one extra cup of water to allow for the number of cups you want. I used a paper towel lightly bunched up in the spout to minimize steam loss. A rag will do as well, since cowboy camps may not have easy access to paper towels ;-) Compared to the Bialetti aluminum stovetop espresso makers, keep the water boiling for longer. It takes a longer time to get the same strength of coffee as you'd expect from a drip coffee maker. Also, do not expect the same flavor of coffee as the Bialettis, because the grind of coffee is different (much more fine) and there's no pressure aspect to coffee making (the Bialetti is an espresso machine). The Bialetti uses the steam pressure to press the water through the coffee, using the percolation is just another variation of drip coffee. Secure the glass topper, by inserting it and turning it tightly. If broken, I saw Cabela's sells plastic and glass toppers for their Granite Ware or similar pots- looked like these were the same dimensions as this Coleman one. The lid has a little lip/notch - make sure that is aligned with the handle of the pot, so that the lid doesnt slide off when pouring. All in all it takes some experimentation - how long to boil for, how much coffee to use, how much water to use. If the percolator basket should break, this is sturdy enough a pot for cowboy coffee! Final update: this is now the 5th pot of coffee brewed today, to experiment. 6 cups (48 fl oz) of water, heat up to right before boiling, add 6 heaping tbsp of coarsely ground coffee. Bring to boil, and keep on rolling boil for 10 mins. Take off the fire, add half a cup of cold water through the spout, and serve. That last bit of cold water settles the grounds to the bottom of the pot, and now you have at least 5 cups of piping hot coffee. No issues pouring the coffee, no spilling at all, on any of these pots i made today. If you place the lid with the small lip towards the handle, the lid will not pop off. You can even pour with the percolator still inside, the grounds did not spill in any of my test runs. The pot is easy to clear, a quick rinse. The percolator basket cleaning does use more water than i'd like, but if making coffee cowboy-style, that's not going to be an issue. Bumping it up to 5 stars, this is now approved and ready for camping!

Coleman 12 Cup Stainless Steel Percolator
Awesome coffee brewer. Great Coleman quality. Took it camping used it on a gas stove. Takes a few tries to get it right. My findings for those shopping. Fill the kettle with water so the water level is just below the lowest spout hole. Then fill the coffee chamber with coffee grind up to the max level (just below top of tube). Then boil and when the coffee starts to bubble in the glass ball of the lid let it go for 5min minimum. Then take it off let it sit for 2-3 minutes and enjoy.

Duradera. Excelente producto.
Excelente compra.

Works well - on boat alcohol stove
I used this on my boat alcohol stove. Works great. I put 8 tablespoons of ground coffee and 10 min of perking for a good strong cup of coffee. To make cleaning easier and prevent grounds getting through the basket holes I use some paper towel and line the basket. The basket being smaller than the pot diameter is a good thing. I had a previous 9 cup coleman coffee pot that had a basket lid that fit the entire diameter of the pot at the top. If you got it perking too fast it overflowed making a mess on the stove. With the basket smaller in diameter than the neck of the pot, any excess water that perks up and can not get thru the basket quickly overflows back into the pot and not out on to the stove. This is now my go to coffee pot on the boat. Love it.

Coffee pot
This has been a gem. We drink lots of coffee in the morning (3 adults). So far we are pleased with it, just been 2 weeks that we purchased it. It is heavy when at first with all the water. Love how it pours, no dripping off the spout. Love the fact that it is not aluminum, like my old pot. Love the glass knob on top, it stays in place and hasn’t loosened. I am please with this pot. The handle is not hot to hold but i still use a pot holder anyways…..just in case the handle is heated up by the second element.
