Bosch doesn’t break like the other crappy brands

It’s sharp and works perfectly if you use a little oil as you should always do. It’s not much more expensive than the cheap brands that you don’t recognize. This one won’t create the problem of a broken off tool that could be a nightmare and create a bigger more expensive repair.

2011 Odyssey Hitch Install

Vehicle: 2011 Honda Odyssey. Exactly what I needed- manufacturer supplied hitch threads on vehicle were rusted/corroded with no chance of bolts going in. Online forum consensus was a 12x1.25 tap. This opened the threads back up and the bolts went in and tightened up well. I ordered the wrong size tap handle but the square base fit nicely into a 12pt 5/16 socket (one socket brand held it well, another one didn't) I also sprayed seafoam penetrating lubricant on the tap before going into each hole, and it seemed like it helped it cut out the threads a little bit better than dry

Get a good named brand like this. I used it to clean rusted threads in the unibody on my van to install a Hitch. Worked great.

Great for Nissan SUV

I purchased this for use when installing suspension and bumpers on my Nissan truck. It worked perfectly. I only wish I had ordered the die as well, but ended up using freshly-retapped nuts to clean up the bolts that I intended to reuse. Great odd size not included in most metric tap and die kits.

Tire shop cross threaded 2 lug stud holes and this tool could not have worked better to fix the problem.

Cleaned up rusty threads

Worked perfectly to clean up rusty weld bolt threads on my Nissan Frontier and made hitch installation simple - cleaned 6 bolts in a matter of minutes - you do need a 1/4-1/2”T wrench to hold the thread tap - picked one up at Harbor freight for a few dollars that worked fine

The tap that saves weldnuts for Trailer Hitch Installs

After trying PB blaster with wire brushing weldnuts on a 2007 RAV4 without luck, got this M12x1.25 Bosch tap. Definitely took my time and backed out every time it went tight. Used 1/4" ratchet, 1/4 socket, hex socket and extensions instead of a regular tapping tool with this tap. After I was then able to install a trailer hitch with nice clean threads like new.
