Not what picture showed

These locks are of good quality. The picture showed an additional pin for the receiver but only one came with the set. They are difficult to put on because the lock does not stay open without the key inserted and turned. When you are trying to balance the tow bar, inserting it into the tow vehicle receiver, and trying to lock the pin is difficult at best. The lock should have been made to stay open and lock when you insert the pin into the lock. Trying to keep the key inside the lock, while the key is turned to unlock it, and trying to insert the lock into the pin can be quite the task because you need to hold the key and lock in one hand, while keeping it unlocked, and using the other hand to push the pin into the lock.

They work as advertised

This product works as advertised. It secures our towbar to the motorhome, and our vehicle to the towbar. All of the included keys were identical, so, I have 6 keys, making it very convenience to have a key on the tow vehicle key ring and the motorhome key ring and still have 4 spares. I can see how if you were in a hurry and did not double check that the hasp and lock were secure to one another you could presume to be finish and then lose the lock. However, it's not hard to confirm that the lock is securely attached to the hasp. We have a Jeep Wrangler 2013 Unlimited and we do not have a Blue Ox base plate, we have the Currie Enterprises tow bar mounting plate. These locks worked great. If you have a Blue Ox towbar, you'll be happy to add these locks to peace of mind. I'm sure other products work as well, I wanted to keep it in the family. I would recommend these to anyone. They might even work well with a non-Blue Ox towbar.

These lock securely and won't work loose to fall out.

I needed these to fit my Blue-Ox base plate. While towing our car behind our class A diesel pusher, one of the hairpin clevis pins came out or broke. The pin attaching the tow-bar to the baseplate, worked loose and fell out. Car was doing its own thing going side-to-side, could have had a bad accident with it. I bought these to prevent such problems in the future. Well worth the cost.

Locks for car/RV hitch

Was very pleased to receive these so promptly. During last trip, I somehow lost one of the locks off the rod...although the rod was still in place on the hitch. Fortunately the lock from the 1/2 inch rod was usable so I was able to get back home. Ordered these to have extras on hand just in case this should happen in the future. I tow a car behind my RV and travel a lot, so I did not want to get out in the boondocks and discover a missing lock again. Incidentally when the hookups were installed on the car, the installer remarked to me that I should place the locks on the rods to the inside away from the chains hooked to the car. He said this would save wear and tear on the lock, and pressure on the lock when turning. When I lost the lock on this last trip, I had not followed this advice and the lock was on the outside next to the chain. Wiser now.

Locks hitch to trailer

I tow a Jeep behind my RV and I wanted the hitch to be locked so I locked the hitch. So far I've traveled over 1500 miles and it's worked great.

Not very robust

Was disappointed on the quality of these locks. Not as robust as I had hoped and I'm leary of trusting these locks, especially when towing a high dollar Jeep.

Not as described

The description of this item is 2 1/2" and 2 5/8 inch locks. The description specifically states an extra lock is included. I received 3 locks. Although the photo shows 3 locks and it is titled 3 locks, the wording specifically states an extra lock is included, making a total of 4. I rated this one star as this is deceptive advertising. I expect Amazon to immediately forward another 5/8" lock at no charge. I contacted customer service because I only received 3 locks. They offered a 25% rebate. I suggested that they simply send me the 5/8" lock they advertise as a separate item. Lo and behold, they sent a complete new set of the 3 at no cost. Another example of the super customer service I have always found with Amazon. Thanks.

Well....they work....but....

I ordered this set to replace my current set because when I replaced the lock on one of the pins, it was crooked and the key jammed. I ordered a new set because I assumed that the replacement set would be keyed differently. They are not. The key I used on my original set works on the new set. They work ok and are positively locking, but they are fussy. You need two hands to lock the pin. One hand holds the lock and the other holds the key. Hopefully you don't push the pin out trying to engage the lock. You place the lock on the pin, remove the hand holding the lock so you can support the pin. Sometimes the lock falls off the pin before it can be engaged. They seem like they shouldn't be this fiddley, but I feel better knowing the car is locked to the RV.
