Good value for money

The paper is an excellent value for money. I use the paper for acrylic paint. I use it mostly with a coat of gesso, but sometimes I just paint on it as is. When used with acrylics it is very good. It buckles a little bit but that is something easy to correct. For how todo this flattening I refer to YouTube for videos about this subject. I used water soluble crayons on it and the result was good. But I never used it for watercolors. Summarizing a good value for money for my application.

It didn't let me down

This is my first watercolor paper but it does almost everything I was expecting. I really like it and it would be perfect for beginners... Like me! ????

Quality

I use this watercolor paper, primarily for making cyanotypes. It is sturdy and holds the chemicals well, giving me a quality finish to my artwork. I am very happy with his purchase, and will definitely buy again.

Not really suited for some techniques like wet in wet

This pad is not gummed on more than one side, so the sheets need to be detached if you're going to wet the paper to avoid cockling. I soaked a sheet in water and then taped it to a board to stretch before painting, After drying it had a very nice taut surface. I applied some masking fluid and then wetted the top half of the paper to paint some sky. The paper didn't cockle after being stretched, which was good, but rubbing off the masking fluid took off some of the top layer of the paper, which was not so good. I also found that applying several layers of paint (with drying time between) resulted in small dots of detached paper laying in the paint. This was disappointing as it is quite heavyweight paper. I would say that this paper is better suited to less wet styles of painting. At present there is no page link for the product on the site so I can't give it a rating for value. For practice it's fine but for anything intended as a finished piece of art I'd suggest paying for the more expensive cotton rag papers.

Good quality watercolour pad

This watercolour pad is pretty basic, it is great for beginners and students, however, for more professional painters I would advise shopping around as the quality won't match their needs. I have found a few pages with a crease/ridge in them and one with a deep scratch, but overall the sheets are pretty good. My partner has painted a few paintings and the paper is able to absorb quite a bit of water before starting to buckle so it is not difficult to paint onto it. The sheets are quite thick at 300 grams per square meter, the surface has a slight texture that helps with colour adherence, they are easy to tear from the pad and the chipboard backing provides excellent protection for the sheets when storing them. Overall, I would say that this is a great product for beginners and students and would recommend it even though few pages were slightly imperfect as can be seen on the photos.

Very thick paper.

The media could not be loaded. I got this paper for my daughter who loves to draw and she’s doing art for her GCSE. Cheap paper make her work look unprofessional and cheap, you need professional pad like this one and makes her work to stand out. This pad has great quality paper and very thick. This Amazon basic watercolour pad contains 30 sheets 9inch X 12inch and thickness is 300g. The quality of the papers is amazing and very thick and durable. The colours doesn’t come through the back like the cheap ones. This great and is easy to draw with. I can’t comment on the price! It wasn’t available when writing this review. Overall is great quality product and my daughter loves it.

Great results

Although this is an Amazon basics product I have been very happy with the results that I have had which have been very comparable to other similar products. I seem to turn to art when I am in various moods and non more so than this last 9 months. I seem to go through phases of art materials and methods. I have had good results with pencil sketches, water colours and acrylics. The quality is what it promises to be. Would recommend to others

High quality paper that can be used with multiple colouring modalities

This is a superb high quality pad. The paper is thick and easy to draw on. It is suitable for watercolours, felt tips (inc sharpies), brush pens, ink and for use with bleach washes. Workg reat with fountain pen ink and calligraphy. The paper comes out of the pad easily allowing for mounting/framing. Recommended for art and calligraphy
