solid fan easy to put together
I’m really happy with my purchase! The packaging was easy to open and the assembly directions were clear. It was pretty easy to put together. The metal cage around the fan blade comes in two circular halves and requires pushing the two together until they snap in. One of the circular halves was a little bent/distorted from shipping which made this a challenge, but it was possible to do with a little effort. I’ve caught my finger in the fan blade at full speed and survived to tell the tale with no injury so I’m pleased with its safety. The four cats in my house have yet to knock the fan over which is a testimony to how sturdy it is while still being light enough for me to easily move it around. The fan at the top bends down and up easily and the height can be adjusted although it’s kind of a pain to do. It comes with a remote to change the fan level but you cant change the setting from rotating 180 degrees to a still position from the remote. You have to physically pull/push a plug at the top of the fan. It’s not silent but it’s quiet enough to sleep with it on. Overall pretty good.

Works great and is quiet
Okay, so this fan is very quiet and blows nice air nicely on each speed. However, the only downside to this fan is that it's a tad difficult to put this thing together. Making it a extremely difficult task to remove the front to clean. I attempted it and it's so tight with no give I broke off 2 of the tabs that hold it together. If the manufacturer of this could take care of making the assembly and disassembly of this easier, I'd rate higher.

The fans are not the problem: Warranty satisfaction from Black and Decker fell short.
I ordered 2 of these fans. The fans were easy to assemble and exactly what I needed. One fan arrived in a box that had clearly been a return and rewrapped. I did not need the fans immediately so I kept them both in boxes past the Amazon return date. Both fans worked well and as the weather got warmer I relied on both fans. However, the fan that came in the rewrapped box stopped after a short time. As I was past the Amazon return date, I contacted Black & Decker get satisfaction under the year warranty. In September 15, 2022, after several inquiries and misdirections, I finally got in touch with the correct person/department, and was told that was no problem to get a replacement, just cut the cord, send a photo and a new fan would be shipped to me. I completed that task and never heard anything. On October 24, 2022, I followed up and was told "Oops", I should have sent a copy of my original receipt. While on the phone with the customer service representative, I sent a copy of my receipt and received confirmation that she received it. She was very nice and promised to "expedite" my claim. Nothing from Black & Decker. My last attempt for satisfaction was 2/7/23 but I have yet to hear any more from Black and Decker. Before the weather heats up, I will be in need of a new fan but I don't plan on buying one from this company.

3 things you should know
What I would've liked to known before buying: (To be fair all this info is probably readily available but I was in a hurry to buy a cheap fan so I wasn't thorough in reading about it.) 1. You CANNOT control the oscillating function (swinging motion) with the remote. You can only control this with a mechanical switch on the back of the fan. Luckily since the switch is mechanical you don't have to press it again every time you turn the fan on. 2. Most of the assembly is easy, but the last step is very difficult and you will NEED 2 people to finish it. The hardest part is putting the wire cover that goes over the blades. Basically the front piece of the fan that says Black & Decker. You're supposed to get the plastic (back piece) to cover the wire, which is such a tight squeeze. I didn't think it was possible... and it really wasn't just using our hands. We had to use a butter knife to get the plastic around the wire while another person holds the cover in place so it doesn't pop out on the other side... It was like fitting 20lbs of meat into a 5lb sausage casing. The front cover stays on with mostly tension. I personally did my best to get the front logo straight, but it turned out slightly slanted because of the struggle we had getting it in place... I would have to undo the tension to fix it, but it's not even slightly worth it... I'd rather paint over the logo than have to put the cover back on. 3. If you lose the remote you cannot control the fan speed. There is no button on the fan that controls speed. Just power and timer. Also keep in mind that every time you power the fan on it automatically starts at the highest speed. So if you do lose the remote it will be stuck on high speed. Would I still buy the fan knowing all this now? ABSOLUTELY. It was cheap and it's working great for what I need! The power is wonderful and it's keeping my room a lot cooler. It's really not noisy and I think it's because the blades are plastic. It's not silent, but I wouldn't say it's loud or anything. One thing that would bother a lot of people is the LED light on it. It is very bright, and will light up a small room that's in complete darkness. Definitely annoying if the blue light is pointed straight towards you... And I did see the review below that explains how to remove the actual light diodes, but it wasn't really worth the effort to me, and I am familiar with picking apart electronics. I did, however, end up using black nail polish to paint over each light, and it worked great for me. It needed two coats and the light doesn't shine through at all... AT ALL. So if you don't want to open the thing up you can cover the lights with paint, or get creative with something else. If I am being nit picky towards Black & Decker, and giving them a tip for the future: I wish the cord was attached at the base of the fan instead of the control panel. It hangs down from the back and doesn't touch the floor when away from the wall... It's ugly and depending on where you put the fan you might have to step over the cord... But again, it's cheap. It's working. It's all I needed! Hopefully it lasts a long time. Will update in the future if anything note-worthy comes up.

Almost Perfect
I like the looks of this fan and while the assembly instructions weren't very precise with written instructions. The pictures helped, sort of and I eventually figured it out. Really, the only reason I don't give this fan 5 stars is that it doesn't have the ability to be turned to a low enough setting for what my needs are at times. Other than that though, it's a great fan and I'm fairly happy with it.

Pretty good
I like this fan, it's basic and powerful. The assembly was easy, but like others said it was hard to get the front grille on the fan. I just gave up and left it mostly snapped-on with only a tiny gap at the top. The underside of the base is kinda dusty and has a weird plastic-y smell. My fan looks good but I feel like it's used. So, I think I should've bought a used one anyway.

A really powerfull and great fan for the price.
The media could not be loaded. Got this fan on sale and would still pay full price for it. It's a great fan. The only minor complaints I have with the fan is the 1st speed is quite quick but for someone like my self who likes to be cooled, it's perfect. It's not extremely loud, you can see in my video, it does have some ambient noise to it. The remote is louder then the fan. But it's white noise at the end of the day. It was super easy to put together. A very good price for a fan, especially better then buying a cheap Walmart one with the terrible aluminum X frames. No tools required. Only thing I dislike is the rotation feature is a pull knob but that's what you get for a cheaper end fan. Only the fans that are 100+ will get you that fancy tech.

DO NOT BUY.
Worse fan I’ve ever bought. It’s literally spinning on high speed, but no air is coming form it as weird as that sounds. Don’t buy this please, you’ll regret it if you do.

Radio frequency interference
The package very badly damaged and put back together with a large amount of transparent tape. The contents were loose and obviously "repacked". It is easy to assemble and operates quietly. However the frequency of the remote coincides with the TV/DVR system remote and the fan turns on with the TV/DVR remote necessitating relocation to another room and defeating the purpose for which is was purchased.

Cheap plastic. Delicate assembly. Came already broken. No return pick up.
A pedestal fan is supposed to be simple and it should just work without much hassles. Being a reputed company the expectations are simple. As soon as I opened the package the round covers which goes over the fan blades were already broken since it is cheap plastic. The assembly was easy but it shoes a lot of cheap quality everywhere. In this time and age, we are not asking much. You don't have a smart fan, granted it's okay. At least create a simple fan with no fuss. Some of us don't even need a remote. Quality is what matters for the money we pay. It is also important to note that this connected with a smart wifi plug is pointless. As whenever you turn on the plug, this needs to be manually started with a push of a button on the fan or using the remote. Another bad idea along with poor quality overall. Anyway I returned it. I had to carry this big box all the way a km away to send it for return. Now imagine, it's not my fault that I got a defective component, which was broken and since there is zero quality checks, these things keep happening and the worst part is the return. What did I as a consumer do, do deserve a 2 km walk carrying a big box for no fault of theirs? The amazon customer care was useless. In countries like India, returns are so easy as someone always comes up to your door. I think in this time and age this is something that is essential for a consumer especially when the consumer is given low quality broken goods for no fault of theirs. Anyway stay away from this particular model. It might have worked for a few of the customers, but it's not everyday something like this happens. And amazon, I don't how it works here, but it is imperative that some returns based on size and weight needs to be handled door to door.
