It's a good thing I'm mechanically inclined.
This fan was just delivered today. I put it together as soon as I logged off work. It looks nice. I had to use a Phillips head screwdriver to attach the top half to the bottom. I pot the base together first, made sure everything was tight. I attached the grill and plastic blades. The things that connect the fron and back screen are pretty tight. The only thing is the plastic housing around the motor is loose. It flops around. There is no handle on the back like another fan that is the same style. I put 2 AAA batteries in the remote, and it's not loud at all on any speed. The fan can be pointed down to a few degrees. Basically it a cheap fan. I hope it works for me. I don't need it yet, I wanted to order one before it gets hot. I will update my review if I have any trouble.

Great fan, but....
Overall a very nice fan for the price. I had an older Lasko fan that finally gave out so I ordered this Pelonis 16" fan to replace it. It's practically the same fan, though the older Lasko fan didn't have a remote, but only a 3-speed dial on the top and the oscillation control. I don't think Lasko is around anymore, and both Lasko fans and Pelonis are both made by Intertek, so they are probably the same company. Overall the quality of the fan seems good for the price. The remote works well. Remote requires two AAA batteries, which are not included. The base for this fan is nice and heavy, but not overly cumbersome. I owned an old Lasko fan about 12 years ago (not the one I replaced) and it had an extremely wide plastic based that was almost twice as large as the base for the new Pelonis, so that was nice. Everything is mostly part for the course except for two things which I will explain now. First of all, I use a fan mainly for the noise it generates so that I can sleep. I am very sensitive to outside noises and like to have the sound of a fan to sleep to. This fan is definitely louder than my old Lasko fan. I even removed the Pelonis fan blades and put my old Lasko fan blades on, which helped slightly, but the fan is still pretty loud, and I've noticed that it takes me longer to fall asleep, and when I was up in the morning, I feel like my ears and brain have been overstimulated during the night. I'm not sure if this will improve as I get used to the fan, but I'm hoping it will. So I'm really on the cusp about recommending this fan for people who want a quiet fan for sleeping. It's much louder than my old fan, but given my old fan has been dying a slow death, it may have slowed down a bit over the past 6 months or so. I have been running the fan on the high speed setting to break it in, then using the low speed setting for sleep, but now I'll discuss my next complaint. The three fan speeds are not much different. Low, Medium and High, or 1, 2, 3, or whatever you want to call the fan speeds, well, they're honestly not that different. Yes, I can hear the fan speed up slightly, but there really isn't much of a difference between the three speeds, both in speed and sound. I'm not sure if this fan is working as intended or not, but it may be an issue requiring me to return the fan back to Amazon or the manufacturer. I'm just not sure yet. For the time being, I'll keep the speed at low while I sleep and see if I get used to it. If I don't after two weeks, I'm going to need to order another fan and try something else instead. I also found myself appreciating the remote control. It's fairly basic. You can turn the fan on/off. Set the fan speed, and also set a timer. I'm not sure what the duration of the timer is, but I think 1, 2 and 3 hours? Maybe not. It's not a feature I intend to use, so it's irrelevant for me. You can't control the oscillation from the remote though, so not sure if that is a deal breaker for anyone. So overall, it's a nice fan. A bit on the loud side if you plan to sleep with it turned on in your bedroom. If not, then that shouldn't be an issue at all. There isn't much difference in fan speed or sound between the low and high settings too, so that might be an issue for some. I think if Pelonis addresses the speed issue, then there wouldn't really be anything to complain about with this fan and would have earned a 5-star from me.

Watch your directions for clockwise or counterclockwise.
One of the knobs is shipped already attached to the fan, but you need to remove it to attach the other parts. It is counter-intuitive - you turn it clockwise to remove it and counterclockwise to tighten it. We spent ten minutes trying to remove it but in actuality, we were tightening it more. This is a very heavy-duty fan - it's got some real weight behind it. As a result, even the low speed is high. I love having a fan on but can't imagine using anything other than low speed. So, it is a little noisy since the low speed is really moving. I guess it depends on how far you sit/sleep from the fan and how big the room is. This would be an excellent fan for cooling a garage or big basement.

literally the best fan
this is truly the best fan i think ive ever had or felt. when i turned it on for the first time, i thought it was automatically on the high setting because of how powerful it was. IT WAS ON LOW. and it was crazy powerful. i then put it on high, just to test it.. cause like... how much harder could it possibly blow? i was blown away. it feels like a damn jet engine. maybe im exaggerating, but its really strong. and having a remote for it is definitely a plus! highly recommend.

Remote control fan!!
The fan is great, makes a little noise, but I like that. The remote works as long as you have a direct line of sight to the fan. My only complaint, and it's really just because I'm particularly lazy at times, is that I wish you could turn the oscillation off and on via the remote. Otherwise it's perfect.

PFS40A4BBB Review
It's ok. It's cheap. Cheap fan. cheap price. You can tell they cut corners everywhere they could so I assume the "guts" are cheap too. Came in a tiny beat up box but everything inside was ok. Really surprised they could get all that stuff in that box. Some assembly required. Putting it together was easy, just needed a phillips screw driver. Little thing like the clamps that hold on the fan guard are stiff to move and cheap. The cord has about a foot left on it after it hangs down and hits the floor. No batteries for the remote ( You'll need 2 AAA). The Fan nut that holds on the fan blade has plastic threads (go easy). Took a quick look and there are no parts available for sale. Although I guess you can buy the remote from another vendor at over half or what the whole fan costs new. There's a fuse in the plug, didn't check if there's a spare in there. My money is on there isn't. I'm use to a knob on the side to set the angle of the fan. This just has a screw, hang onto that screw driver. I've read you can just "click it" to set the angle but it feels kinda cheap to be pushing on lol. This thing DOES blow air. That's the point right? Even on low it's a little hurricane. Not very quiet. Are fans ever quiet? The black color actually does look cool, but that black blade will really show the dirt/dust, so I'll be cleaning that a lot and hoping the plastic threads on the blade retaining nut hold up. Remote works fine. It is what it is. Hope it lasts a year. Over all it's fine. I doubt it will last a very long time. Remote is cool, it blows a ton of air, I'm good with it for the price. I'd happily pay more for a better quality product. Wife had it here before I even knew we were getting one ;) Made in China

Good fan
It's is your very basic 3 speed fan. Assembly is easy. Itdoes require a screwdriver to adjust the tilt which could be awkward if you adjust it often. I don't so I'm ok with it. If you want a quiet fan don't order this one. I appreciate that it's not quiet as I suffer from tinnitus 24/7 and without white noise it can be unbearable and with many fans offering "whisper quiet" I searched for something louder. Low speed is quite strong. High speed is hurricaine level. Basic remote. Sturdy stand.

Very strong/great air movement
The fan was very easy to set up and (even on the lowest setting) is pretty strong. I like that is has a timer setting on it, as I'm trying to cut down on energy costs, so I put it on for a few hours before bed and then go to sleep. It's a little noisy, but it's not like the fan blades are wonky...it's just electronic noise. The only thing I could complain about is the range of the remote. You need to be pretty close and pointing DIRECTLY at the sensor for it to work. Otherwise this is a great buy!

Good fan for the price.
We have been using this fan it every day, it is working great. Good air flow. The only minor complaint is that it is noisy on high speed. Very heavy base, not bad adjustment up and down. oscillating feature also appears to be working well. Would definitely recommend this fan

best fan for the price
This arrived on a 40+ degree Celsius heatwave and made it feel like normal weather. Noise level is fine, but that might be subjective. Pretty sturdy too.
