Almost perfect

The mop gets the job done and isn't too cumbersome. My only grip is that the center of gravity on the handle is such that when you pull the mop back, the mop head has a tendency to go vertical.

Okay at Best

The concept of steam cleaning is great, makes sense and should be how we clean our floors and surfaces more often. This product needs more, the steam is only in the center of the pad would be better if the steam was all through the pad of the mop. The liquid holding unit it too small, you will have to make several trips to refill when mopping a large area.

Don't waste your money

My old steamer (Black and Decker) was able to stand on its own. This does not. The cord is too short. Not too keen on the fact that you turn the steam on/off with a button. My old one stopped the steam when in the upright position. I figured it would be better since it's a newer model, I figured wrong.

Great idea, very poor design

I bought the previous model of the Black & Decker mop and was very pleased with its performance. The water tank was slightly bigger on the older model. This one has a tiny water tank that you have to refill often. The older model also stands up by itself, this one does not. You have to lean it on furniture or a wall while cleaning (moving chairs/end tables etc.) Also, when you pull the mop back toward you the mop head flips up and scrapes the floor, it does not stay flat. I have also had the mop head pop off several times during use. The power cord is way too short. If you are cleaning a small area like a tiny bathroom it is ok but anything else....forget it! Very displeased. Great idea but very poor design.

Bad product - do not buy

This is my 4th Black+Decker steam mop - the other ones worked for a good 4-5 years of heavy use and I knew what I was getting into with this one. Or so I thought. This model sucks. The engineers who designed it are clueless. Protop - if the mop is so poorly balanced that moving it backwards causes it to tip onto the tail then you fail basic math and physics classes. Second protip - mops need to be self stabilized - that is they should lock into an upright position so you can walk away from them. My last 3 had both those issues solved perfectly. How they could fail now is beyond me. Sure, pulling the mop off to use the little triangle thing is a cool gimmick. But that doesn't mean you get the core mop WRONG and then add it. Gimmicks only work when the core product is solid and this one isn't. Its going in the trash and I'll find something else that actually works.

Not fancy but works well...

This is a great steam mop: it puts out lots of steam, the steam arrives quickly, the head is easily maneuvered, the handle is solid, the head unit is well built. It's not the most expensive steam mop out there, nor does it have the most bells and whistles, but it works.... Two things I found negative need to be mentioned. They don't diminish the value or utility of the mop greatly, but they are significant. First, the mop doesn't pull well. The head flips up when you draw the mop toward you. It works reliably only on the push stroke. Second the mop is a single thick pad which attaches to the plastic head by velcro. My old steam mop had a reversible mop that covered the whole head unit and closed up with velcro. You could flip the head over and run the mop with the reverse side of the mop down once the first side got dirty. This one has only one side, and the back of the mop attaches directly to velcro pads on the head. This one can get pulled off easily in use. That's the most significant negative. The other negative, though less of one, is the short cord which could use being at least eight feet longer. Still, it's a great mop in the most important areas: solidity and quick and copious steam. Let it sit and put out steam over a ground in dirt patch on our stone kitchen floor and almost every one will eventually come off with just the mop being pushed over it. Finally, be aware that there are two on/off switches. The one on the side operates the steam generator while the one on the front operates the pump. You can turn the pump off so that steam doesn't come out while keeping the generator hot so that steam is immediately available when you turn the pump back on.
