Meets a need but needs some work
The Zircon Leak Alert WiFi meets the need for a self-contained wireless water alert but needs improvement. First the Pros.... A big plus for the Zircon is that it is all self-contained. You do not need a base station or any kind of additional wiring. It runs on a single CR123 lithium battery that is easy to replace. The setup, although different, is reasonably easy if you underst basic WiFi. To configure, you press a button that commands the box to create its own SSID. Find it on your phone and log in. You then tell the Zircon about your regular WiFi, select that SSID and enter the password. If you understand all that then you should not have trouble with the rest of the setup. One thing to make clear... It is possible to alert by email AND messaging using SMS. Perform an internet search on how to send an SMS message by email to your smartphone. It varies by carrier. It works great and you can get an alert immediately. Make sure you use SMS to send the email to your phone. Now to the cons... It uses up batteries much faster than a non-wifi model. Buy the CR123s in bulk because you will change often, about every 3 or 4 months. Short battery life is the price you pay for having such a small box that floats. A serious flaw is that the battery 'End-Of-Life' message is iffy at best. Occasionally it will message you about a spent battery but this is rare; Almost never. Zircon, this is a big deal that needs to be addressed. The Zircon does send out a regular health report every SIX DAYS, not weekly. You read that right, every SIX DAYS. What were you thinking? Did you run out of RAM or something? Therefore, to make sure it is still working you must check for a message or email every six days. It only goes online when it alarms or checks in. You cannot ping to check for signs of life. If you have only one Zircon then this might be relatively easy. We own six so have to keep a running checklist on last check-ins. Consider changing out the battery every 90 days on principle. Another con is shorter WiFi range than other devices. A small box placed on a concrete slab limits range. It is what it is. In summary, I hope that Zircon keeps selling these WiFi alerts. We have six. Some under sinks, by a water heater, by a sump pump. They have saved us from rotting wood and a flooded basement. They are a pain to monitor but worth it to us. And Zircon, please fix the spent battery alert. I get it, a lithium change of state voltage drop is not easy to detect, but smoke alarm makers seem to have figured it out. And a six day status schedule? Make it seven.

Great water leak detector
These are the best and easiest to install water leak detectors. Hurricane Ian got our other ones but when we came in the house all were beeping like crazy even after water had submerged them and retreated. I replaced those with these. I have near my water heater and under sinks. At first I couldn’t remember where I had originally bought the old one and had bought others and they were ugly and cumbersome. When I saw these the ones I previously ordered I replaced the ugly ones with these and gave black other ones to other people. These are quick and easy. Highly recommend.

Peace of mind
Purchased these before at local hardware store but they no longer carry. So glad I found. Worth every penny. When our refrigerator was leaking, helped save us from potential water damage.

Seems to work
My husband said there is no way this would work do he tested it h licking his finger and touching it and it triggered the alarm. We haven’t had a leak yet but I think it will work.

Simple and Accurate
Pro: Easy, loud siren, long lasting, affordable, floats. I can hear the alarm in the basement thru to the next level. Requires a 9 volt battery that needs to be inserted just right in order for it to float. Sounds alarm at first sign of a damp concrete floor. I have used these for 10+years. Put near water softener, water heater and under sinks...so many places. No app to install or learn because it's not wireless, just simple. I'm home most of time to hear the alarm. Con: None. If you want wireless with a phone app, plenty of other brands out there.

Alert
I have a basement apartment and laundry room. This water detector works very well to alert you that water has come in contact with it from a over flow to leakage of any type. Just add battery an place it near any possible leak area on floor

Great Product That Works
I have firsthand experience with the Zircon Leak Alert Water Leak Detectors. I can tell you they work great! I installed these around my water softener and my hot water heater. I am so glad I did because a week ago one of the alarms went off. I heard it clearly inside the house. As it turned out the garage sewer line had backed up and the soft water drain pipe actually sucked up some water into the soft water pan and set the alarm off. I am so grateful for the Zircon Leak Alert Alarm because it worked great and saved me thousands of dollars of potential flood damage. Frankly, the Zircon Leak Alert worked very well at a reasonable price. I highly recommend that if you don't have water leak alarms you really should consider these because they do work very well.

These work great!
I placed one next to the bathroom stool and one over drain site and they have already paid for themselves!

Not Sure Yet!
How do you give a review on an item that just sits on the floor next to the grey water drain in the basement. You hope to never have to see this gadget actually working since that means the basement drain is backing up.....again!!!! It does give us a bit of peace of mind being down there though. If the drain should back up I'm not sure if we would hear the alarm since our home is quite large and that drain is down in the basement next to the furnace. Hopefully we will never see this item actually doing what it's supposed to do.

Easy To Install...Loud signal
I bought the 5 pack...one for under the kitchen sink...two under bathroom sinks..and two next to the washing machine. I put a paper towel underneath the sensor to increase the area of sensitivity...Very easy to setup,,,Reasonable price.Good for apartments or homes...Its loud ...it is about the same as a smoke alarm..I tested it out and it is very sensitive. They look well built and like i say very easy to setup
