This could be a life-saver if my water heater leaks
So far, no leaks; however, I am confident I will hear the alarm sound if/when it does leak.

Not a Moisture Sensor
Must actually touch water to sound alarm, disappointing.

Saved me on day 2
Ordered Leak Sensor, arrived quickly in 2 days. Two days after I installed the Leak Sensor into my sump pump crock in the basement, the alarm went off and let me know that the sump pump had stopped working. It was very loud and could have woken the dead. I appreciate that. Saved me thousands of dollars in damage had my basement flooded. I'm a huge proponent of this device and I am ordering more of them. Buy this device!!! 5 Stars!

Man, this thing is LOUD! It's also much more versatile than any of the others I've seen.
I've tried a wide variety of water alarms over the years and this is by far my favorite. Key features include: - When activated, the alarm latches and the alarm continues to sound even if the water contact was momentary. All other alarms I've tried stop as soon as the water is removed. - There is an on/off switch. The switch is needed to turn off the alarm and is also used when the alarm does not need to be ready, when moving or storing. - The alarm level can be set to either LOUD or VERY LOUD. - There is a test button that indicates if the alarm is on and active and the battery is OK. This feature alone is worth the price of admission. - The wired probe is not as convenient to deploy if all you need to do is detect if there is water on the floor or in a container. There are units thatlike this one which are good for a set-and-forget situation for catching a leak on a basement floor. But the separate probe makes this unit much more versatile in placement. For example the probe could be placed inside of a drip catch tray while the control unit is located in a convenient location for controlling the alert. - The alert sound is a warble that is difficult to tune out. Alarms with a continuous tone are easy to miss as just background noise. The only way I can think of improving this unit would be an alert choice of VERY LOUD or intermittent beeping like a low battery chirp of a smoke detector, for cases where the water situation needs attention, but is not an emergency. Even at the lower volume setting, this thing is so loud you will want to turn it off as soon as possible.

Simple, has 1 job
This is used to detect water in the basement next to the water softener. The adhesive that came with it seems mediocre, fell off when placed on the side of the softener, placed it back again and seems good so far. The tester light to ensure it's operating is good, also tested by applying a slightly damp cloth under the 2 prongs and rang off...loud which the loudness was set on high. Ears were ringing afterwards. Used the on/off switch to stop the sound. People in the house said it can be heard on the first floor at medium level, likely on the 2nd floor could be barely audible. There are no doors blocking the floors which aids in sound moving around. For the price, it does what it's supposed to, hopefully won't hear it at all as it was placed after the fact of the unit flooding the basement. May consider using a Ring like mobile alert as a secondary backup. One negative is that the cord from alarm to prong to detect the water is really short, a few inches at best. Not a huge deal but if it can be 6" at least that allows some wiggle room to place the alarm and prongs in optimal locations where space could be a concern.

simple, effective, great idea!
We live in an ancient (but homey) '77 Komfort travel trailer. I've slowly been resto-modding it- solar, plumbing/electric etc. I haven't yet got around to replacing the plumbing toilet line fixture (photo)- it has a slow leak or two with the valve on. Got it almost fixed with a few coats of PVC glue on the outlet side, previous owner teflon taped the input side. Thing is...if we forget to close the valve after use, the line will leak all night and come morning ewwwww stepping barefoot on a sopping wet piece of carpet on the shower floor is not a good way to wake up! (it's technically a "wet floor" but we hardly use the shower). So before I have to clean up yet another wet mess before morning coffee, this little screamer will catch any onsets of oldtimers disease lol! Low volume is loud, high is painfully loud. Battery indicator pushbutton, press to see a green light. Alarm goes off the instant water touches both contacts on the sensor. Used double sided tape on unit and sensor. Have yet to actually be warned as now I remember to turn the damn valve off lol....so far! ????????

This one leaves your ears ringing!!!
When I tested this unit set to the "+" loudness setting, it literally made my ears ring. Says it's 110 decibles. My Harley's pipes put out 90 and they're plenty loud. I had purchased another brand but found it's sound wasn't loud enough to hear. I had a water well pump hose slip out of it's housing and the pump, trying to get back to 50lbs of pressure, kept pumping out water all over my home's lower level until I realized the pump seemed to be running too long. I have a "finished" lower with laminate flooring. Long story short, ended up with a new well pump ( the other burned out) and casing and bought this "other unit" and placed it by the pump. Well, later that day I turn the water on in the kitchen sink and NO WATER. Ran down to the lower level to find WATER all over the basement...........again...........and the new "alarm" unit floating and not sounding at all. I guess water got into the opening and shorted the circuit board out. All this between the week of Christmas and New Years. Anyway, I found that the original alarm's sound was too weak to carry up to the second level and to the opposite side of the house where my bedroom is. I bought this unit and tested it in all areas of my home to be sure I can hear no matter what. HOLY COW....... this will wake up the neighbors!!!. So I'm hoping our inside well problems are finally solved until drill a new 5" well with a submersible pump this spring.........but if not, I can go to bed knowing I'll be able to hear The Sabre for sure.

It was loud and worked well
I didn't put in anything for battery life as I only have had it for 3 weeks. It was loud enough to wake the dead. LOL!

Already saved my living room
This has already saved my living room twice from a potential flood as I was dealing with a leaking aquarium filter that could have leaked 250L...

LOUD AND WORKS
This unit is LOUD (which is exactly what I was looking for), tested great with water and I like the fact that you can test to see if batteries are alive. Only downside is the very short cord the sensor is on-it makes it a bit more difficult to lift the main until out of the potential water area which is important since it is not waterproof (interior use only). Money well spent.

Does the job. Really loud

Easy to install, cheap and very Loud!!! :)
Purchased two of them. One for my water tank and the other one for my laundry. My laundry is next to my music studio so I need to protect all my expensive guitar pedals. By chance, the floor is not perfectly leveled so my studio is a little bit upper than the laundry. I did a test and believe me, it’s very very loud. Next step: purchase a home camera that will notify me if an alarm is raised while I’m not at home (so a camera with audio detection).
