Perfect sizes for decorating needs
I needed these for my decorating kit. The bigger sizes are also perfect for piping churros and eclair shells.

The perfect set for cupcakes
Why did I wait so long to buy large icing tips? These are absolutely perfect for cupcakes! I actually love having the different opening sizes, and the different looks they therefore give. Do not, these aren't the usual small ones that come in starter sets, etc. They are bigger, and aren't going to pair with a bag that has a standard coupler built in. I actually don't even use a coupler for these - I either use plastic icing bags, or I use a regular resusable bag with nothing on the end that I've trimmed to fit the largest of these appropriately. Because of the difference in size between the smallest of this set and the biggest, I can't use one icing bag for all, at least not how I do it. That's fine by me, though, since it just means using two different cut bags. I don't usually use couplers - since I really only do cupcakes, I don't change the tips anyhow, so this works great for what I need. I don't like the container these come in, I ended up just throwin that away and putting them in a Tupperware bin, but that's not even worth discrediting. Basically, this set is amazing.

Altho' there are many, many uses for these pastry tips, I like these for making homemade churros. These give the distinct ridges that crisp up while frying in hot oil. The largest-sized one I use when making Shepherd's Pie. I make my mashed potatoes and pipe it out with the large tip. The ridges make it brown in oven. You can always 'rake' the potatoes with a fork, but this is just a prettier presentation. I sometimes make individual size portions, so everyone gets their own and they don't have to share. You eat with your eyes first, and this makes you feel like doing just that. To buy one tip can be costly, not to mention the cost of shipping each one separately. I bought this set of ten, closed-star tips at a cost of about $14, give or take; that comes to only $1.40 each...not bad at all.

I’ve already gotten this exact set when I went to pastry school so these are my favorite tips to use. I lost some of my original ones so I bought a replacement set.

Exactly the tips I needed for my baking and pastry program at college. Heavy enough to resist denting, good sizes, easy to clean. I would definitely order these again for my bakeshop or as a gift to another baker. They were also helpfully less than half the cost I would have paid to buy in the college, even with shipping.
