Always-on heater good for 2.5 gallon and up betta tanks
I currently use two of these for two 2.5 gallon betta tanks. The most important thing to know about these heaters are that they do not shut off! They continuously heat the tank just like a simple space heater in a room. Eventually the water in the tank will reach a steady temperature. The final temperature of the tank is primarily based off of 1) The size of the tanks and 2) The temperature of the surrounding air. If you keep your room on the cooler side (roughly 66-70 degrees Fahrenheit) this heater should heat a roughly 2.5 gallon tank to a high-70s/low-80s temperature which is perfect for a betta. It could also work for a larger tank in a warmer room. Aqueon also produces 5, 7.5, and 15 watt heaters for different tank parameters. Other notes: - Extremely compact design - One of my heaters runs about 1 degrees F warmer, though this amount of variation isn't an issue for me.

Great for small tanks
This heater is great for a small tank. I have a 2.5 gallon tank for my beta. It suctions to the side with two little suction cups. It warms the water, and my fish likes to swim over and snuggle up to it. Only problem is I have no idea how hot it is. It was cheap, so there’s no temperature gauge. I just check the water periodically.

Aqueon Mini Aquarium Heater
There is no temperature control setting but it hasn’t overheated my 3 gallon fish tank and is working well. Would be nice to be able to control temperature. My tank stays in mid 70s safe zone.

Just fine, I guess
I purchased this heater when my fish seemed to be getting really sick over the winter. We keep our house really cold during the day, so I figured I would give this a try. 10w for my 1.5gal tank was recommended, saying it would keep the temp about 10 degrees warmer than the room temperature. The first one I received, I put it in a test tank and it heated for maybe an hour and then died. I requested a return instead of a refund, hoping it was just a faulty heater. The second one seems to work much better in that it actually heats up the tank. I do not trust it to keep a steady temperature though. My house is kept at 65 degrees during the day, but the heater seems to keep my tank between 78 and 85, with no apparent reason for the difference. I have to turn my heater off completely when we turn the heat up to 68 degrees at night so it does not get up to 88 degrees (which it did in my test tank). I was going to return this one, but my fish might die before I get my money back to buy a different one, so I am just going to buy a timer instead of plugging and unplugging all day.

Have nothing but good things to say about all 3 of them
Small profile and easy to install in a 2.5 Gal tank. It helps leave alot of space in an already small tank for a betta fish and a snail. I have 4 of these with 3 being used now. They work very well as long as you keep them under water as the instructions say. So far no issues with any of them. It's winter now and it keeps a 2.5 Gal tank at 70 to 73 in a 59 degree room but definitely unplug these in the summer. Sometimes during a water change the will turn on if the water temp is different and take a minute to turn off.

Great for nanotanks
My petsmart thermostat was off so I got this. Turns out my petco thermostat was more accurate. During the summer in California I don't need it on. It worked while it was plugged in and would come in handy once the fall and winter hits. Amazon has more accurate photos than petco, otherwise I would had just bought from the store to support then. Petco had an old outdated photo that showed more white paint on it than I would had liked.

It’s a hit and miss. Be around when you turn it on.
I ordered 2 of these for my 5 gal betta tanks. I have 2 more of these at home that I use for my other betta tanks. These things are a hit and miss really. One came non working, the other heated my 5 gal tank to 82f. The non working one I’m returning for a replacement. The working one that wants to boil my betta I’ve placed into one of my 10 gal tanks and now it keeps it at a stable 78. If you are going to use these, please remember to let it sit in your tank for a few hours before plugging it in. Then only do so when you are available to monitor the temperature change. These things DO NOT shut off. They just keep heating. I do not suggest these heaters for tanks smaller then 5 gals. They seem to function best in my 7 gals aquariums.

May want a different brand.
So- I have a 2.5 gallon betta tank. I had the 5w heater in it. With the house temp at 68 it simply couldn't keep up. Now I think the item has been removed from Amazon. So far this 10w heater is working. In the summer when the room is between 70 and 72 I hope it does not over heat the tank. 78-80 is ok but no higher. From other reviews this brand of heater is garbage. I'm glad Amazon is fair about refunds.

Heating seems to be erratic
When I put this in my 3.4gal tank it seemed to be OK and then all of a sudden the heat spiked up to 82 degrees, now it's holding at around 72 and the environment hasn't changed in terms of temperature or a window open or anything like that. I had another so I put in my smaller tank and I thought it was going to fry my betta so I took it out, now it seems to be holding at about 74 degrees, so I don't know what to think. I was going to send one back but now that I'm getting another similar sized tank I might keep it, but I don't know how reliable they are so perhaps both will go back.

Heater doesnt have any settings!!
I ordered the heater hoping to have a setting and keep the water at a constant temperature for the Beta fish. Unfortunately, it doesn't and it went up to 86F or so and two days later my beta fish died! As soon as I felt the water was warm I stopped the heated and corrected the water temp by mixing colder water but it didn't help. It is a good heater and submersible but no setting makes it dangerous for fish.

Rollercoaster
Had this heater a little over a month for my 3.5 gallon Betta tank. It started off fine and brought my tank up to 74F/23C, suction cups were strong and secure, cord was long enough; no complaints. After a week I noticed my Betta acting weirdly agitated and saw the water rose to 90F/32C. This entire time room temperature was the same at 72F so it had to be the device. I unplugged it for a couple days and decided to retry. When I replugged it, things seemed fine again. Fast forward to now after 3 weeks it has stopped working completely. Maybe I just got a defective product but it seems from other reviews it's common. TL;DR- Save yourself the stress and money, don't get this heater.

Good little heater
The media could not be loaded. I recently bought this little heater to go in my new glo fish tank. It was very easy to install and the suction cups really stick to the sides of an acrylic tank. There’s nothing really to do but stick it on the side of your tank and plug it in. Good value for the money for sure.

9 months and it EXPLODED!!
After 9 months of keeping the fish at the required temperature, the breaker shut off for the upstairs followed by my daughter screaming that the fish tank is on fire. When I ran upstairs I found that there was smoke coming out from the lid of the fishtank and I could see that the heater blew up.
