Decent, cheap solution to seal up the bottom of your door, but not perfect

Decent cheap way to upgrade the seal at the bottom of your door. I had a door that was allowing air, and even some rain and snow through the gap under the door. This has solved the problem, though it is not a perfect. It is listed to fit doors 1 3/4" thick, which is exactly the thickness of my door. However, it seems it is better suited for a slightly thinner door. I had to struggle to get it on the door, and even when on, it just doesn't seem to fit perfectly. Installation was pretty straightforward. Measure your door, and trim the product to fit. Then simply slide it on. I was able to do so without taking the door off the hinges, though it did take some maneuvering and struggling. I didn't bother with the screws, as I didn't feel they were necessary. I am also a little suspicious of the durability of this product, but time will tell.

Works great, very tight fit

As mentioned in other reviews of MD door sweeps, the fit is very, very tight. Had to place it under the door and snap it in from the other side, there is no way I could slide this on. Otherwise fitting to length was very easy using a vice and a reciprocating saw. Looks good and fits nice, just knocking off one star for being too tight, would be much better with maybe 1/16" more clearance on each side.

Instant silence from outside and NO DRAFT or damp air!

Initially I purchased this to limit the draft and damp air that whips in from the balcony. I couldn't be happier; it's super insulated and the noise from outside is completely silent! It took ten minutes to measure, snip off the excess, file of the edges, and slide it onto the door. Here's what you'll need: measuring tape snips / industrial kitchen scissors metal file work gloves Granted it is pretty tough to slide it onto the door even with work gloves, so be sure to have a strong person around who you can bribe to help. Screws aren't needed if you're door is actually 1-3/4" thick; this fits as though it's now part of the door and won't budge.

M-D Building Products 5991 U-Shaped Door Bottom with Vinyl Fins

These Door Bottoms are well made and very easy to install. The Door Bottoms fit perfectly the width of my 36" doors. Only needed to trim a half inch to fit properly. A hacksaw cuts through the industrial grade plastic easily. The seal under the doors is now perfect. Can't slip a piece of paper under the door yet the door opens and closes smoothly. I highly recommend this product for ease of application and for making a door seal properly underneath.

They fit but didn't last any longer than the original

I was happy with the fit and was hoping for more but these only lasted a few months and are already starting to peel. The fins across the bottom, same as the original these were replacing.

It worked just as well, if not better than expected as a replacement Door Bottom. When this one wears out, I'll have no issues buying another.

My door is exactly 1. 75 inches thick and ...

My door is exactly 1.75 inches thick and I could not slide this door sweep on at all. I would get it on halfway and then it gets stuck. I even tried soapy water for lubrication but no luck.

Keeps old man winter away from my door.

I really like this product. It does a great job of stopping the drafts coming in from under my front door. It has plenty of rows of draft stopping fins. Easy to adjust and install. I highly recommend this.
