This is a 5/16" T
This is a 5/16" T. Not mentioned anywhere in the description. After I de-installed my old seal I noticed that it might be a 1/4" T . Thing was so beat up it was hard to tell. So I said what the heck. Let me try this to see if it will work. So I was able to feed in about 5 inches with little effort. So I thought ok so far so good. Well after some laundry detergent, DW40 and silicone grease applied in every crevice and edge you can imagine-it finally began to slide the rest of the way. You will definitely need a helper. One to feed the seal and the other to pull. The good thing is you will not need to secure it with any screws cause it ain't gonna slide out. Morale of the story is - if you want an easy install - first partially de-install the old seal and measure the T. If it measures 1/4" do yourself a favor and order one of the products that definitely state 1/4". I think that extra 1/16" clearance would have made things a lot easier. Otherwise you can use this as a cheap way out and a bizarre experiment for team work that will take about an hour.

Good value for the $$ spent
This is my 2nd time purchasing this product. The 1st time was 2005 and that weatherstripping has remained pliable after all this time.

Buy this one instead of the one from Home Depot's new supplier
With our harsh Chicago winters and hot summers, these seals only last about 3-4 years, but the fit is perfect and installation is easy (with two people) on an 18' garage door bottom with the rails to hold the edges of the rubber seal. Used to buy M-D from Home Depot but they switched suppliers and the new brand is crap- poor fit and lasted one year, so I now order online to keep the same quality.

Perfect fit for Raynor garage door.
Installed all by my lonesome. It was a little tight, but did not need to lubricate. Trimmed the end with aviation snips but maybe scissors would also work.

SO FAR, SO GOOD..! it works and stays in the track..
SO FAR, SO GOOD..! Got both 18 ft. garage door bottom seals today and installed one on the 18 ft wide door replacing the other version which I am returning.. This one has a wider "T" and thus does not seem prone to falling out of the track.. it was a bit of a job sliding it into the 18 ft of track but I got it done.. maybe next time i'll use a bit of Vaseline (or that stuff used by electricians to lubricate long wire runs in conduit) to help lubricate the track.. I still need to replace the gasket on the 9 ft garage door.. NOTE: the plastic gasket material is longer than 18 ft by about 14 inches, more or less.. i'll edit this review and add pix to illustrate the differences in the two products.. and now I can't find or recall how to add pix to a review.. so much for adding pix.. i'll describe the two different products.. this product is 2 1/5 inches wide, the "T" ends are 5/16 wide.. the material weighs about 60 grams per foot of length vs. the other product that fell out of the doors which is 3 3.4 inches wide and the "T" ends are 3/16 inch wide and finally the weight is 53 grams per foot.. so from this one should be able to order the right product for your particular situation/application.. in short, this product is narrower and of heavier (thicker) material.. and so far is doing the job for me..

M-D Building Products 8462 Steel Garage Door Replacement Vinyl, 18 Feet
PROS: Just as advertized, this length was even slightly longer. The seal is thicker (heavier duty) material than the original door seal. CONS: none. As others have said the tabs measure 5/16". If you have a 1/4" -aluminum- track you -could- spread the track slightly using an appropriate non-gouging tool and it will save you some money not having to buy a new track. INSTALLATION SUGGESTIONS: (for the non-handy man) Remove the old by your preferred method, cutting, pulling down, sliding out, ETC. Cut the piece to the exact length -before- installation. It will STRETCH when installing and if you cut it after installation it will SHRINK and you will have a short seal. Lubricate the seal edge (not the slide) with Murphy's Oil Soap, liquid soap, silicone, or even bar soap will work. Slide in ONE TAB only to the full length. (make sure the 'ribbed' side will wind up down) Use a plastic or wood tool (a putty knife could be used if you are very careful) and put the inside tab edge in first and work the outside edge in along the track. If it is not a tight fit, you can slide the tool along edgewise and the tab will slip in. Pull both ends in toward the center to where the ends are even with the edge of the track. Installing by sliding in -both tabs- can be done but it is difficult to do.

Works well, difficult to install
This weather strip looks heavy duty. I first ordered the smaller spline size, and it kept falling out of the track during installation. The thicker was very difficult install, even though I used a boat load of soapy solution to lube the tracks. It finally was done after about an hour of struggling. Hopefully this will last years

It is a Vinyl product so in colder climate it will stiffen seriously.
So this is a replacement seal for my garage door. Some people pointed out that it gets really stiff in cold weather. Well, yes it gets even stiffer since this is not a real rubber product (now I realized it is indeed vinyl... my mistake) it is but plastics that behaves not well in a colder climate. Installation is not that bad if you use Vaseline to lube the edges where it engages with the aluminum extrusion it slides into, for example, but do not wait for the colder climate. I will see how long this actually lasts... In cold weather as the door closes and the seal hits the garage floor, it is like rock-on-rock "collision". It did not break, however. You need to have a level floor for this product does not conform to the shape of floor in cold weather.

Excellent value for the money
This replacement vinyl was ridiculously inexpensive but superior quality. The was lots of extra length and it fit perfectly.
