Youtube led me to buying this to help with embossing & die cutting machines.

I do have this brand of machine, a Sizzix, two Spellbinder Platinums, A Gemini, A Diamond Press, A Tim Holtz side kick. So why this embossing silicone mat? It's thinner. Most machines have their own brand of embossing silicone mat but thicker. Some of my 3D embossing folders won't go through my various machines with the thicker mats. I ran into Youtubes showing how to apply this and even cut it up. NOW the bad news. My Platinum 8.5 and 6 both will sometimes EAT all rubber mats silicone or not this one included. I've found it helps to place a thin shim on top of it to help prevent that. And now do. Twice now I thought I'd never get it out of the rollers it was stuck so bad I thought I'd ruined my machine. So I find it useful but I now always as in ALWAYS add a top layer for a shim. Depending on how thick the embossing folder is and if it's a cut and emboss style it dictates how thin for the shim to cover the silicone to help keep it from being eaten by the rollers. Otherwise yes I bought small and larger sheet sizes and cut to fit various machines. Hope this helps. I do have universal Spellbinder sets now sold but it hasn't solved many of the problems I've encountered. Also the same with the fancy flip books for the Sizzix. Of course the Diamond Press is an entirely different approach to die cutting and has it's own set of frustrations yet love it for certain projects and using it's own very ultra thin metal dies. It will take some thinner embossing folders but none of the 3D or thicker folders. Just need to spend the time to get to know your machines.

Works in my Sizzix

This was recommended on a site showing how to remove the residue of glue on intricate dies when using a Xyron machine with cellophane. It was just thin enough to allow the die cut design layered with cellophane to go through my BigShot machine and remove the sticky residue. It worked perfectly!

a little better than purple embossing mat

This embossing mat is okay, its still very thin but seems a bit sturdier than the one that came with machine. The purple embossing mat is very flimsy and got cut up too easily, after only one use. I don't know why Crafters Companion can't make products that last, I guess they want to keep customer coming back for more. I have the same issue with the magnetic mat, it warped after just a couple uses, and has a big bulge in the center. I bought some good magnetic sheets from DiscountMagnet .com to use instead.

I really like die cutting pads for the Gemini. But as it turned out, I got the large size which is too big for my Junior Gemini. COULD I CUT THE PADS DOWN TO FIT THE GEMINI JUNIOR?

Gemini Die Cutting Maching

This machine cuts intricate dies like butter. I love it. The only problem I have is 3D embossing folders from other companies don't work very well. I have kept my Big Shot for those.
