Nice, high quality set

Nicely Marked But Hand Wash Only

Set of four heavy stainless steel spoons containing 1/4 teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon, 1 teaspoon, and 1 tablespoon measures. The spoons are about 6" long and are clearly marked with engraved letters and numbers so the markings won't wash off leaving me wondering which is which. They are made from thick metal and don't bend or flex in use. There is a brushed finish that won't show water spots. The spoons are round in shape with flat bottoms (like a cake pan) that sit on the countertop without wobbling but make it a bit more challenging to scrape sticky things completely out of the spoon from the 90 degree corners between the sides and the bottom. There is a ring holding them together which is easy to open to remove the spoons and to close again to put the set back together. The ring looks like one in a loose-leaf binder: you give it a little twist near the ends and it easily unhooks and can be opened. Although this is stainless steel, the instructions state that cleaning should be done by hand using warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly. Wish they were dishwasher safe and have taken a star away for the need to hand wash.

Zyliss quality at a good price. Can’t go wrong with this brand

I bought the larger set as well. That review holds true for the smaller set. I was so impressed with the larger set it prompted me to buy these. My review is below. I've been using Zyiiss products for decades. Their niche seems to be products that are priced above entry level for a given category (e.g., can opener, grater, chopper) but far below the price of the top of the line items. However, the quality of Zylis is just below those top of the line items if not on par directly. The quality bang for the buck from Zyliss is always excellent. I've used their can opener for decades before finally replacing it. I own their Parmesan grater (a staple in many restaurants I've visited). If you don't trust me trust the pros. I've been using plastic measuring cups for years. I decided to step up to a metal set. It was a great choice. My dishwasher cleans these better than the plastic variety.

Stainless Steel, but Not Magnetic?

I understand that not all stainless steel items have magnetic properties, but I've yet to find a kitchen utensil that was such. Was hoping to have these hanging near my other set of stainless steel measuring spoons that I have attached to a magnetic strip inside of my ingredients cupboard, but these spoons don't seem to stick despite being stainless steel. As for the spoons themselves, they're pretty nice, accurate, easy to read, and feel of high quality. So that's a plus. I'll probably keep these in a backup drawer for when I need an extra measurement.

Attractive, but not sure about the handle attachments

This is an attractive set of measuring spoons matched to their stainless steel measuring cups, and they have all the same benefits and defects. They are lovely to look at, have a nice heft to them, and the flat bottoms make them easy to set on countertops. Now the negatives. They are not all of one piece, and the handles seem like they will collect debris and possibly rust where they are attached to the bowls of the spoons. And the markings could be far easier to read. While the photos on this page make them look easy, they are not of a contrasting color, so you have to turn them to catch the light at the right angle in order to read them.

Easy to get measurements right!

Its just so easy to use these measuring spoons. They are the shape of little cylinders so the level off and accuracy is great. I check each measure was accurate. I liked that they are all connected with a ring too.

Heavy Duty. Built to Last.

I have been putting these to the test in the kitchen and these have been holding up very well. The thicker than average stainless steel feels very substantial in hand and certainly can take the abuse of fast paced cooking. You won't have to worry about denting the cup or bending the handles on these. Compared to other stainless steel versions these are the most heavy duty. The handles have been tack welded in 2 spots and are very well attached. The brushed stainless steel retains its looks every after months of heavy use, as compared to a polished set which I have that shows all the scratches. No soft grip, no ergonomic shapes. Just a heavy duty, no frills, get it done, design. Impressive. 5 stars for quality and durability.
