Review of Woodstock W1037 5-Inch to 4-Inch Reducer

It worked as expected for me. The plastic is really hard and does not bend unless I try to squeeze really hard, so I'm happy on that. Quality, shape, how it's molded, roundness, etc. are all excellent. I use it for the vent outlets of my portable AC and hooked it up to a dryer vent I installed through wall instead of using the window vents. For the dryer vent side of my installation, this product inserts inside the dryer vent hole, not outside. Problem with that is it's hard to tape it because of how it start to get thick to 5" size (the tape can't be all flat and nice). That might be very hard, annoying, or might not work for some applications, but was okay for mines. I am deducting one star for that as I had to tape it in different ways. Lucking I am not installing this in a tight roof access area. They should have made the 4" side thicker and bigger so the other vent will insert inside it OR make the 4" side longer so we have more options for taping it securely and easier.

Does not fit the 5" port of the Dust Deputy!

I bought this because it was suggested by Amazon as a something I might need for my Super Dust Deputy. I wanted it to adapt the 5" port on the dust deputy to 4" hose for the shop. Well the Dust Deputy port is exactly 5" OD this piece is exactly 5" OD so it will NOT fit inside or outside on the 5" side. It is of good quality but doesn't work for my planned application.

Not much to say. It's a piece of cheap plastic that allows us woodworkers to make parts fit (that should have been already been made to fit). It's by far NOT heavy duty. If you can make PVC or drain pipe work, I'd do that instead. If you have no choice or don't want to bother with the box stores, this will work. Just be careful not to bump, bang, or look at it for to long....for it may just break!

Amazon ships a thin plastic tube in a paper bag...

The reducer is REALLY thin and the straights for attaching hoses are very short. If you're still inclined to purchase one you might consider ordering some duct tape to try and hold the cracked pieces together.

This fits perfectly inside of a 5 inch sheet metal duct. I use it for dust collection system.

Insert funny pun about overestimating size

Guess I should have read the reviews first, as this does not fit over a 5” port. Moreover, even if it did, it has ribs on the inside that would limit the ability to get an airtight seal. If you are looking for a true 5” to 4” reducer, look elsewhere.

The adaptor is very thin and it doesn’t fit on 5 inch dust pipe. I throw it to garbage.
