Amazing product!

I love this seed pit remover!! We have a huge crop of plums this year and this tool made it super easy to go through a bucket of plums (most of the plums were about 2 times the size of a fresh Bing Cherry-not huge but good size for us). Sooooo glad I found it in time to do my plum jam!! It will save you time!

As advertised!!

Works great. Plenty sturdy. We were using it to core plums from our tree and made short work of it. The cherry side fit the smaller plums just fine too. Top marks.

Was excited until I got it... will ...

Was excited until I got it... will probably do cherries ok, but I thought I'd be able to use the larger side for several types of stone fruit.I don't think that will be the case. It will probably only do really small plums, and probably no apricots or peaches. If I knew that before the purchase, I wouldn't have bought this one.

Love it, love it all the way! Not sure for negative reviews I saw here but we used it for Italian plums and this machine just great and so fast. The ball of plums and the pits gone in 10 minutes. What a miracle. Before it was a nightmare cutting very each and then try to remove pits with finger, oh ... And then I find this 2 in 1 pitter. What a blessing! Great and so easy to wash and to store, bc its small. Love it very much.

Terrible

I was so excited to hear of this product. When I received it I used it right away. I think it worked on the first 10 plums and then the metal pitting slicer broke in half. So disappointed I returned it. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is! ????

Really useful

If you have a lot of plumbs and don't know what to do with them this is great as you can stone them all in no time and freeze them and eat them for the rest of the year. Great. It's not mega strong but adequate.

OK- For some £23.00 one might expect a Quality item - especially as this purports to be made in Germany. It actually works well for the small plums we have, about 6 cms is the max length , and this useful tool is certainly better than the handheld devices and so much easier to use. Casting is aluminium with useful tiny rubber feet pads (x4) There is a bit of 'Wobble' with linkages The Top press plunger is plastic - comes separately within box - simple assembly and keeps unit small after use The Cherry stoner is plastic, however, works admirably The Plum guillotine is efficient and VERY SHARP stainless steel, blade cutter a bit rough and ready, some stones will be ejected with fruit surround - more a case of choosing the right plums. Too soft/ ripe and this may happen. The inner Spring is normal metal - might have thought it would be rustproof and after 4 seasons it is as good as new, as it is concealed within the body it is going to get wet with flushing/washing through after use, and inevitably. Not dishwasher safe so a flush with water after use is recommended. The finish of the enamel is good. - Feels like it was a clone of a very successful heavier and more robust piece of German kitchen engineering from many decades ago, stripped down? It will be a lot quicker than a similar hand tool and probably safer - No guard on the Stainless Plum cutter.

Gutted

I was so excited to receive & use this device which made stoning damsons, apricots & plumbs an absolute doodle - having first figured out the most efficient method of use, ie which side, best position of fruit, etc, etc... I was therefore gutted to realise that the smaller blade had quite literally worn away after a couple of sessions amounting to no more than a couple of kilos of fruit de-stoned. I just don't understand why such a reputable company as Westmark have used stainless steel on one side & plastic on the other; it just doesn't make sense! Guess which blade wore away? On the plus side Amazon immediately reimbursed me the full amount without the palaver of having to return the item. Unfortunately this still leaves me with the quandary of where can I find an affordable, wholly functional replacement of a quality substantial enough to withstand the rigors of next year's (domestic) jam & chutney making season?

Stoner

I used this to remove stones from plums & although it is brilliant, it can be a bit messy. when the plums are being stoned the juice tends to spurt out, especially when you are doing loads. It could do with a tray to catch the stones & a splash guard.
