Well made

At least for me, this was just what I needed. It ran perfectly (I needed to flatten a slab of wood. The only thing that I would have liked is a button lock to keep it on. Not a deal breaker. Just had to be creative. But other than that, it came in a nice case with the ability to run 1/4 and 1/2 inch bits. It had a fence, and the depth stop was not hard to use. It was less expensive that the other nice brands and It met all my needs.

Great Router for the price

I have a Ridgid Router and purchased the Wren to help with door installation so i would not have to change the depth between routing out the hinge side and door latch side, Right out of the box I noticed the weight of the Wren which felt like a good quality tool, the one con for me was the depth guide which seem to be a little looser that my Ridgid but after installing 11 new doors the depth stayed the same, Great tool for the price,

changed my mind !

I wrote a negative review after this router died after about two hours of use. I wrote to the WEN customer service dept about a warranty claim. When i didn't hear from them for a few weeks I wrote it off and wrote a negative review and moved on. Long story short..I did here from Wyatt at WEN customer service and they sent me a brand new router! Can't ask for more than that. I needed to be a little more patient. Great big heavy router with lots of attachments and a hard case. Things happen with machinery. We'll try again !

Great router, poor quality control

After using this router once I had the plunging locking mechanism slip and ruin the corner I was routing. After looked at it more closely, I realized the lever that locks it in place needed to be rotated clockwise so that it would lock better. It was a matter of removing the screw holding the lever and rotating the lever one notch. The next time I used it I noticed something was rattling inside the motor. I removed the end that holds the brushes and to my surprise I found an extra brush rattling around in there. See the picture of it in this review. After reassembling it, it seems fine. This really is a nice router. I love the slow start mechanism and the abundant quiet power. I also like that I can use 1/4" and 1/2" bits in it. I just wish that the assembly process had better quality control.

So happy

For the price you can't beat it. I've been using a $2050 Bosh for the last month. About this figure and it would just be temporary honestly. It's better than most expensive brand name ones i've used it solid works great plenty of power

Great router for the price

I love my new router. I have had this a couple of months now and have had no issues. I have used this every weekend and for long periods of time with no issues. Easy to set depths, can be used as set or plunge. I accepts 1/2 & 1/4 inch bits. I would and have recommended this router.

Good tool for the money.

I have about 5 hours running this trim router and it works well. I am doing relief carving with it. Runs true and the variable speed feature is very handy for setting up for different bit sizes. The only issues I found were the rack and pinion is a little sloppy and the collet can be a bit difficult to get out. The rack issue was solved by applying a bit of lithium/teflon grease to the rack and a wipe to the router body. Works smoothly now but still has some play in it. The collet issue was similar and got better with a drop of grease, but still need to use a small steel rod to push the bit out thru the stop hole in the collet. Not a big problem as I don't change bits that often.

Lo devolví el mismo día que lo recibí

Al recibir este producto y comenzar a revisarlo, veo que la calidad de los componentes no es del todo buena, al comenzar a revisar sus funcionalidades detecto que los postes guía que permiten que el artículo se deslice hacia arriba y hacia abajo, al asegurar la alturav con la palanca, el poste donde se ubica la palanca queda bien fijo más en el otro que no tiene aparentemente, nada que lo sujete, tiene bastante holgura con el poste, esto es el buje y el poste no están bien ajustados, por lo que al hacer alguna ligera presión hacia abajo, la unidad se inclina, lo que originaría que al estar cortando, la fresa o se abra hacia afuera de la línea de corte o, si presiono demasiado la fresa, originaría un enterramiento en la madera. Este defecto en el ajuste de los bujes con los postes donde se desliza, no garantiza la perpendicularidad de la fresa respecto a la madera, un errror bastante grave ya que no tendrá precisión ni repetibilidad al cortar. Es una lástima ya que me gusta mucho la marca, más en esta ocasión, no me agradó el producto y lo tuve que devolver inmediatamente.

Garbage

This router completely seized up after about an hour of run time. I contacted Amazon and they wouldn't do anything. I then contacted wen (supposedly comes with warranty) and they told me they would ship me parts but I would have to pay shipping (which is very expensive) and I'd pretty much have to try and disassemble the entire router and try and fix it myself. The customer service is horrible on both Amazon's and Wens part. Extremely disappointed as this held up a few big projects and costed me alot of money. Don't cheap out and buy this router from Amazon.

Poor design and heavy and bulky . Plunge sticks

I returned it before I plugged it in . It’s heavy and bulky . The bad part was the plunge shaft mechanism was so stiff and catching . So it would hang up while trying to lower it into position . I looked and the detent that pinched shaft actually gouged a hole into it and made it tough to plunge and basically the detent damages the smooth shaft once tightened . Who would design such a thing . Went to canadian tire and they as other brands use a strap type clamp to squeeze the shaft into a locked position . This unit is like a screw that digs into the plunging shaft Hope this helps someone . If you’re a novice and use here and there make sure the bulkiness does not interfere routing inside some corner areas of work piece

Great Basic Router

The basic router is pretty good! The case helps keep things organized. Unfortunately, Wen's After Market parts service severely overcharges on shipping costs! A spare template guide plate is reasonably priced but the shipping is almost half the cost of the router! Saying that, the router and accessories that are in the case are spot on.

la machine comme telle travaille comme il faut, mais...

elle travaille trés bien, beaucoup de puissance mais il y a de pieces perdues, dans mon cas il me manque un vis papillon ( knob spring part No 6033-033 et 10 mm Knob part No 6033-038 ) pour serrer la tige de la guide de cloture (la guide que vous placez sur le borde du bois ) et aussi une petite ecrou (part No 6033-077 Nut M4 ) qui vient avec les vis qui tiennent la piece pour collecter la poussiere. J'ai déjà une autre machine Wen laquelle a fonctionné très bien, ce qui a pesé tres fort au moment de choisir celle-ci. Si n'est que pour la manque des pieces je crois que cette machine merite 5 etoiles puisque elle est tout ce que j'attendai d'elle.
