Worth every penny and then some!
I was super skeptical when I ordered this mattress protector, but the reviews were pretty convincing. I am SO glad I did. We invested in a Purple mattress last year but I balked at paying almost $100 for the Purple brand mattress protector. I have lived with a low-key fear that something would get spilled on our bed ever since. Then a couple weeks ago our young son was not feeling well and climbed in our bed after getting a dose of kids nighttime cough medicine, sure enough he was so knocked out he didn't wake up when he had to go to the bathroom and I found myself scrubbing my mattress and swearing at myself under my breath about not getting protector. So I came to Amazon searching for a jersey mattress protector, something that would stretch so it wouldn't ruin the effect the Purple mattress offers. This fit the bill and the price was so reasonable it was almost too hard to believe. I washed it right of the package and then put it on the bed. If the video uploads you can see my first test of the waterproofness. You can see the water soak in and I honestly believed it went right into the mattress, but it didn't! The bed underneath was totally dry. Even better was that the water dried on the protector in just minutes with our ceiling fan on. I can't yet say how it will hold up to a child wetting the bed but hopefully I will remember to come update if that does happen. I can't quite give it 5 stars though because there is a slight crinkly noise to the protector but my husband didn't even notice it until I mentioned it after it had been on the bed for a few days. It is a small price to pay for the price and for the protection.

Thin, Sleeps Cool
I needed a mattress protector just to protect from night sweating. This was affordable, thin, and best of all, does NOT sleep hot. I was hesitant to even get one for my new mattress because I’ve just not been satisfied with any on my personal bed as far as them making me sleep even hotter than I normally do. It makes minimal noise when you first get into bed but it isn’t obnoxious like some can be. The bottom sheet feels cool to the touch with this protector underneath it. It’s super thin- so I recommend always washing on delicate or you may risk it ripping in the wash. I cannot attest to its waterproof capabilities as we are not incontinent nor do the kids climb in bed with us anymore. And we only have cats that don’t wet the bed- so I can only say that it protects my investment from sweat and any subsequent stains or odors from said sweat! I can recommend this for you if you are also going through a night sweat stage in your life and just want an affordable, plain Jane protector for that purpose!

Perfect and affordable
This is surprisingly nice for the price. I was impressed when I opened it and saw how nice it was. It is thin, which is perfectly fine. It is 99.9% noise free. The plastic waterproof layer is very soft and doesn't make noise or crinkle up.. it is more like a fabric than a plastic in terms of how it moves etc and therefore the noise is almost totally eliminated. The only time I hear it is when I am making the bed and straightening it out. Once the sheets are on, you do not hear a single thing. The outer part is like a thin terry material. It fits down over the mattress and the 4 inch topper and doesnt pull up the sides of the mattress. For the most part it stays perfectly in place. I am very happy with it. It seems well made and is much, much better than I was expecting based on the price I paid. There is no reason to pay more, either - it has every quality I want and need - it is quiet, it is waterproof, is overall good quality, and it fits the extra deep mattress. There is nothing else I could possibly ask for.

Flakes off after a while
Similar to what other reviewers said, we uncovered a lot of stains on our mattress even when we had the protector on. But most troublesome of all was that after 5 years of use, the poly surface started to flake off from drying and washing into a million of pieces and covered our clothes in white flakes. Could not have been good for our washing and drying machines. I ended up buying another to protector from a different brand and invested a bit more ($20) for a cotton material. Stay away form polyester covering in general. I would not repurchase this brand. It was a good deal in 2016 ($13) and economical buy but you get what you paid for. Know that you would be replacing this at some point down the line if not sooner, then later.

Best so far!
We have tried several expensive waterproof mattress protectors - only to return all of them. Most of them made us sleep hot, was noisy and/or too thick. With the new type of mattresses (foam, memory gel, etc.) when you have a very tight fitting cover over it - you negate the soft feel of the mattress. We have learned this by trial and error. This mattress protector is perfect! Thin but durable, fits mattress smoothly and stretches over larger height mattresses. The ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars is because it DOES make NOISE. Once you put your sheets on the bed over the topper - you probably won't hear it - however, the cover makes a "swishing" noise. Very low but it's there. It did not take away from my sleep. Husband didn't even know I put it on the bed!
