A solid product when replacing a kitchen sink--but wait before tossing the old mounting ring

We ordered this item when we decided to replace an older sink in our kitchen. Having done this sort of job in the past, I knew I'd need a new unit to connect the sink to the disposal. The only glitch was when trying to use the mounting ring, I could not get it to tighten to my disposal (a 20-year+-old US-made unit). And, yes, I had my own technique for positioning the disposal to the underside of the sink. I gave it an hour, then just grabbed the one that came with the disposal, cleaned it up, and it went right back on. So, a word to the wise to the DIY person, is to hold onto the old mount ring in case the new ("universal") one won't fit. Otherwise, a good product, with good instructions and diagrams.

Wrong size

I bought the wrong size so I turned around and just bought a whole new garbage disposal, but it seems to be perfect material

Fast & easy replacement

After a kitchen reno I was concerned about using the old seal for the disposal. For $15 this set was an inexpensive and fast way to assure a good seal. It was an easy replacement process. I see no difference between the OME and this version. Delivery was fast too.

Does what it's supposed to do

My garbage disposal flange developed a crack at about 10 years, this is causing a leak. This replacement flange fits just like the old one. It does the work. The reason for the four star is the value of money. You could get the entire system for about $90, yet the flange itself is about $30. You are paying a lot for a piece of plastic and a couple washers. Since the entire weight of the garbage disposal is supported by the flange, and every time you turn on the garbage disposal, the torque will exert additional force on the flange. For this piece of plastic to a break is only a matter of time. I'm hoping that for $30 they could at least provide a metal part that will last longer.

Works great

In changing out some items under the sink we had to remove the disposer. The mounting flange was bound up a bit and it took some tapping with a hammer on the edges to loosen it. Unfortunately one of the edges broke off, so we needed a new flange. This one fit perfectly. It went on easily and is very solid. Easy fix with a quality part.

Fits my 2007 GE disposal, model GFC535F perfectly

Can assembled, which was useful for reassembling. Just look at it closely, particularly how the bottom gasket is installed to hold the bracket in place. As another reviewer said, if you push the gasket on too far, you can't install the disposal; the bracket ends up too high, and you can't get the "ears" of the disposal to catch and tighten. Watch the orientation of the gasket and just slip on so it engages the flange. Arrived on time (Overnight, thanks Amazon!) and works brilliantly. Well pleased.

Works great, no more leaks: NOTE the LARGE rubber gasket (F-Support compressible)...

Received my order 04/11/2019. It came with a splash guard. It fit our 1999 SS800 perfectly. The trim ring that you see in the sink is shiny stainless/chrome instead of the original brushed stainless/chrome and it does not have any words on it like the original. No big deal, The wife is happy with it. This product comes assembled. BEFORE you dissemble it for installation, look very closely to the large rubber gasket (Part F - Support Compressible) to see how they have it attached to part A, the sink flange. I put the gasket on too far the first 2 times I tried it. The large rubber gasket should wrap around from the sides and cover the bottom edge of the sink flange. The mount ring should just drop over the rubber gasket, there is no need to try and force it. If you can't get part E, the mount ring, to drop down over the large rubber gasket, you put the gasket on too far. Just slide the gasket down until the rubber wraps around the bottom edge of the sink flange.
