The box and actual item do not look like the ones here in the pictures on Amazon
I recently bought this item when I moved to a new home, to replace my previous one (a KItchenAid brand which is over 32 years old and still working!!). The box and actual item do NOT look like the ones here in the pictures on Amazon. The box says "'AMC' Kitchen Appliances" (Anaheim Manufacturing Company), which if you do a search on, tells you it is "Home to Waste King". But the stickers on the box had the same model number (H510-U-CH) as listed on Amazon, so I opened the box. It actually looks more like my old KitchenAid than it does in the photo here - both the tank is different as well as the faucet itself, though the faucet is the twist type. In any event, had a licensed plumber install it and it works perfectly, except for one small complaint - the water stream comes out full-force when you first turn the handle, but then it quickly narrows down to a stream no wider than a pencil. So, if you're trying to fill up a mug to make tea, instant coffee, etc., it takes a bit longer than I'm used to. I actually called the company when my plumber was here to report and question this and was told it was normal and by design. My old one never did that, not even after 32 years - always had the same strong stream from start to finish, no matter how long I ran it. In any event, it works perfectly as far as heating up the water to almost boiling and will be quite happy it it lasts even 1/3 the amount of time of my old one!

Waste King H510-U-CH Tahoe Hot Water Faucet with Tank, Chrome
The Waste King H510-U-CH Tahoe Hot Water Faucet with Tank, Chrome that I purchased is worth the money I paid for it. The only problem is that it is not handicapped friendly. One has to twist and turn the knob hard before hot water comes out. Otherwise it is very efficient for making tea, preparing breakfast cereal, and even boiling eggs. Excellent buy. Glad I bought it from Amazon.com

Ripping it out and replacing it
I don't understand the 5 star reviews. We had a hot water dispenser that worked wonderfully past few years. Then it broke and we replaced it with this, based on the amazon reviews and its looks. Nothing but problems: - it makes sounds and starts to sputter steam at random times. we can avoid this by turning down the thermostat, but then we lose the boiling water ability. (I suppose we can also avoid this by turning the unit off entirely) - no way to press boiling water and keep it on, have to hold it in an ergonomically awkward way while water trickles out. - takes around 15-20 seconds for water to start coming out while you are standing next to the sink holding this knob down. this is just a joke - my wife is thoroughly displeased with it.

thumbs way up
IT.S A 5 STAR COMPARED TO MY LAST DISPENSER-INSINKAERATOR WHICH LASTED ABOUT SIX YEARS,i READ THAT WAS GOOD. WHEN FILLINGiT ALSO IT WOULD GURGER AND SPUTTER. I t HOLDS 66 CUP VS I THINK 8 FOR THE INSINK THE WASTE KING IS QUIET WHEN IT REFILLS. CONNECTING WASN'T TOO DIFFICULT WITH EXISTING VALVE JUST HAD TO BUY 1/4 IN COPPER TUBING IN COIL FROM HOME DEPOT. sHIPPING WAS PROMPT. iTS WORTH BUYING ONLINE INSTEAD OF SETTLING FOR AN INSINK AERATOR DISPENSER FROM LOCATE RETAILER oNE REVIEWER ALSO SAID HIS Lasted 12 years - I also use a timer like I used before to extend life.

Unit failed completely shortly after warranty expired.
I installed this about half a year ago and no problems so far. I needed to get an adapter from the local hardware store to get one of the hoses to fit, and of course, make sure you have the space to mount it (it is pretty large; I used it to replace another brand that was a bit smaller). And, like all such units, turn down the temperature to below the point where the water boils inside and spits out. One unfortunate aspect of its design is that the temperature knob has no protection, and turns very easily (like when anything else under the sink bumps against it), so I had to cover it with duct tape to keep that from happening. UPDATE: Unit failed completely about 18 months after installation (and 6 months after warranty expired).

Hot Water Faucet
Works well - similar to the one we replaced, however, tubes were different lengths. Hot water flow starts slowly. This has been our fourth instant water heater in about 20 years. Unfortunately, about two years after it was installed, it started to leak. Called the company and there is no fix so it has been disconnected for some time. Very disappointing.

Excellent Product!
We installed this a month ago and it has worked well. The tank maintains hot water, so it is not a "hot water on demand" product in the sense that the water is only heated when you need it. I don't think that's a negative though as the energy use is fairly negligible. The convenience is incredible. After filling a pot and putting it on the stove, the water boiled in less than a minute. Great for hot chocolate, tea, etc. as well.

Works very well and install is not hard
This unit replaced a 12 year old unit that looked exactly like this one and mounted the same in our kitchen. These hot water units are great when you need 2-3 cups of water now for coffee, tea, whatever. Easy rotary knob on the front to set your temp. The cord plugs into a wall outlet that you need or may have under the sink. Draws about 12 amps when heating. The hardest part is cutting the hole in your counter (about 1.25 inch)
