A very respectable replacement light! NOW WITH TWO UPDATES!

NEW UPDATE! 12/08/2016: Unpacked from their hiding place in the basement these Vickerman Bubble Lights showed no loss of fluid during storage and when plugged in lit up and started bubbling in 15 seconds (red) and 30 seconds (orange). Looking forward to another bubbly Christmas season! UPDATE! 12/30/2015: After a full Christmas season of bubbly enjoyment I'm happy to report the lights performed flawlessly. The bases are significantly brighter than previous replacements and the bubbling action much faster. Additionally... you could HEAR the lights! I kid you not, they actually bubble with enough intensity to create sound! Packed away now, we'll have to wait and see how they do after being stored for the year! Original Review: An interesting set of lights! If you've been looking for bubble lights you know how difficult they're becoming to find. I'd previously purchased a string of NOMA V28077-88 lightsNOMA/INLITEN-IMPORT V28077-88 7-Light Bubble Light Set (Sylvania product) to use as replacements for a set of bubble light candles as my local department stores stopped stocking these beautiful little gems. Very high quality lights, the Noma's were, but the red liquid was so dark you couldn't see the bubbles. This Christmas (2015) I purchased the Vickerman 3-n-1 C7 Multicolored bubble lights and have been very pleased with them so far. They arrived packaged just as the product photos show, all three were full of liquid and appeared well assembled. Placed in their proper decorations the bases illuminated much more brightly compared to the Noma and department store lights purchased in the past. The liquid in the tops of the bulbs started bubbling within 30 seconds of being turned on and both colors are light enough in color to enjoy their bubbling action! Fairly faithful recreation of the age old originals these Vicerkman C7 bubble lights are slightly taller, with fewer decorative ribs molded in the bases and the plastic used is a bit lighter which, as mentioned, allows more light to penetrate. The latter however verges on being too bright to enjoy the pretty bubble display. I'd call them a solid 8 on a scale of 10, nice enough for everyone to enjoy and a product I'd recommend while I continuing searching for the perfect Christmas Bubble Light!

I love the bubbling glitter tops of these lights

I love the bubbling glitter tops of these lights! The bulb and the clear plastic bulbous base it is in are not my favorite. They are too bright! If they used a dark plastic base, or painted them or directed a small LED light upwards, they would be better IMO. Also, I put the 3 on my tree in December of last year, and this year already one doesn't work. Oh well, they are quite beautiful, and I think I would buy them again.

Bubble yum!

They worked as replacements as advertised. I good tip from a YouTube user, if a light doesn't bubble up, but it is hot, carefully unscrew the affected light, turn it upside down so the liquid is at the tip, and hold it there for as much as a minute. It might start bubbling in your hand but either way screw it back in and it should start bubbling. If not, keep it screwed in until it is hot to the touch and try the procedure again.

A lot of glitter, all bulbs still contained liquid

I was worried that I'd end up with at least one bulb from which the liquid had leaked out, but all of mine arrived intact. All three contained a lot of glitter and are very pretty when lit and bubbling. Incidentally, for those people who wonder how you get an empty bulb but there's no water marks: it's because the bulbs aren't filled with water, they're filled with an organic liquid that has a much lower boiling point that water, which is how they're able to boil with only a small bulb as a heat source. When it leaks, this liquid evaporates quickly and doesn't leave a similar mark behind.

Just what we needed

I've been looking for replacement bubble lights for my Christmas angel for years, and it seems that all the products out there require you buy an entire string of lights, and often green and red in color. My angel is white and gold, and while I would have settled for just a white bubble light, this product matched much better in color, and the moving glitter goes so much better with the angel than the original light.
