Solid and well built, but could use some changes.
Overall this is a good product. Reading reviews on other products, this seems to be the one to get as it is more durable than pretty much any other option. Where it could use some change is on losing seeds. First the drain holes are larger than I'd prefer. Perhaps more holes but smaller would be best. Also the two halves of the catcher don't line up very well. There is an 1/8" gap between the two halves running down the center. Perhaps if one had a lip that went over the other side, it would be an easy fix. Even better, they could design it so that the left side of each had a lip that covered the other side. That way both parts would be identical, and they'd have no extra inventory for an upper and lower half. To close the gap on mine I used two small paper clamps to hold them together. They do fine, but I wish they weren't needed. I expect they'll rust over time. Here is an example of what I used: https://www.amazon.com/Hongri-Binder-Clips-Paper-Clamps/dp/B092LV2J1M/ref=sr_1_5?crid=374NI65JLN39R&keywords=paper+clamps+small&qid=1671458255&sprefix=paper+clamps+small%2Caps%2C127&sr=8-5 Also I've read in other reviews that some people were disappointed that they had problems with this because they didn't have a 1" pole. I was able to use this with a 5/8" pole I got on Amazon. If you're interested, give this a try: First you need some 3/4" pex pipe and some duct tape. I had some scrap pipe so I was lucky. You need just 5" of pipe to make this work. If you don't have any, maybe a neighbor does. 1) Cut a 2" piece of pex and a 3" piece. That is all you'll need. 2) Then decide where you want the bottom of the tray to be on your pipe. 3) Put one "single" wrap of duct tape on the pipe. Now if you slide the 2" piece of pex onto where that tape is you'll have a nice snug fit. If you want it more snug, add just one more single wrap. I used two and its really tight. In fact I had to use pliers to get the pipe over the tape. 4) Now you can attach the lower bracket/knob of the tray onto the pex pipe. Screw it down, to get it snug. 5) Place the remaining 3" piece of pex onto the pipe above the piece you just put on. You don't need the tape on the upper pipe as the lower piece will hold everything. This upper piece of pex is just there as a spacer so the upper bracket/knob has something it can hold on to. 6) Put the tray parts into the lower bracket. Put the upper knob/bracket on and tighten it up. 7) You're done. It may be that the 1"pipe could be more sturdy, but if all you have is a 5/8 base this will work just fine. It does for me. Hope this helps.

Great at keeping the ground under the feeder cleaner
After being frustrated by the mess (and decline in grass) under the Squirrel Buster Plus feeder, I added this to contain some of the seed slung by unappreciative birds. It definitely cuts down on the seed making its way to the ground, and both a number of birds and the squirrels help themselves to the seed in the tray. Important word of caution: As stated in the product details, this will only fit a 1" pole Attempts to make it work with a 1 1/4" pole were not successful -- these components are substantial, and do not "give". Brome's customer service is top-notch, too!

Air traffic is up after installing this seed tray!
The media could not be loaded. The Brome Seed Tray and Catcher has improved the bird traffic at our feeder. I thought I’d provide some info that I could not find before I decided to order this tray, as others might have similar installation concerns. We had already purchased and mounted a Brome Squirrel Buster Plus feeder onto a steel gas pipe that I had cemented into the ground. (Lowes cut the 10-foot pipe in half for free, which left me with a 5-foot pipe for a second feeder.) The Brome aluminum pole mount is threaded onto the threaded end of the gas pipe. Everything is VERY solid, but I was concerned the seed tray or the collars might not fit my post without modification. I knew that the gas pipe has a 0.75 inch inside diameter, and about a 1.05 inch outside diameter. The Brome specs show that the seed trays will fit on a 1 inch OD tube, but some reviewers said the plastic collars would not fit on their 1 inch diameter posts. After receiving the seed tray, I can confirm that the collars have a 1.0 inch inside diameter (measured with digital calipers). The trays themselves would fit around my post without modification, but to make the collars fit over my 1.05” OD post, I removed the bolts from the collars. Then I used a small, medium-grit sanding drum and my Dremel tool to gradually (and evenly) remove some plastic material from the vanes inside the collars. (When grinding, or cutting plastic, it is important to use the lowest speed setting, to avoid melting the material.) I would occasionally stop and test-fit the collars over the extra piece of pipe. I installed the tray below the feeder after both collars fit successfully on the test pipe. We put out this feeder in early January, and the birds did not visit so much until after we added tray beneath. Ground feeding birds, like cardinals, like the seed tray a lot. If the cardinals are out, the smaller birds seem to follow.

This is a quality plastic tray that is robust, easy to install, and clean.
I like the quality of the construction. The split tray makes it very easy to detach from the pole and dump excess empty seed shells into a plastic bag for the trash. When the upper clamp on the pole is loosened and slid up, the two half trays still stay securely in place so no balancing is necessary. With a slight upward movement of one tray half, it is detached completely from the mount. The tray is large enough to catch about 90% of the seed that birds knock out of the bird feeder that is located above the tray. Now we are not feeding the whole neighborhood of squirrels, mice, turkeys and chipmunks and destroying our lawn below the bird feeder. Enough seed gets past this tray to provide some food for a few local chipmunks. My original pole was 1 3/8 inches in diameter so I had to replace the pole with a one inch diameter pole because I could not think of a way to modify this well-designed tray without destroying most of its benefits. My only wish is that they made a few collars for this tray that would fit several pole sizes, because larger poles are more stable. The one-inch pole that comes in two sections is not that stable, so I had to put a fence stake next to it to secure it. I would recommend this tray without reservations.

Well designed & perfect for intended use
Ideal to keep seed from falling to the ground & accumulating in the mulch. Provides a nice perch for the birds to eat the seed that is caught by the tray.

Only good for Black Oil Sunflower Seeds
Pros We feed for the late fall and winter and are visited by Mourning doves, BlueJays, Cardinals, Sparrows, Goldfinches, Chickadees, and Juncos. It's a fair sized tray. The other good thing is mounting and unmounting for cleaning is easy. Cons The drainage holes.. They are design to drain water out but are so big that they let every seed that's smaller than Black Oil Sunflower through, leaving you with a huge mess below your feeder if you try feeding the birds anything else. So whether you use this as a tray feeder or a seed catcher, you are limited to just Black Oil Sunflower or non-crushed peanuts/shelled peanuts. White millet, Nyjer, Cracked Corn and Safflower will slip through. This defeats the purpose of what this thing was partly intended for and bearing in mind it is about 60 bucks, Canadian, with taxes Since it is the only tray feeder/seed catcher that I could find that mounts to a pole aside from one other..we're stuck with this for now. A suggestion for brome would be to reduce the hole size and increase the number of holes. Water can drain without letting small seed fall through. And perhaps increase tray diameter to about 30 inches. Overall, will still give this 3 stars for Brome bringing a great idea to the table but there is still room for improvement.

Excellent seed tray for keeping the ground around a feeder clean.
We have a cylinder feeder on a poll. We learned that birds are sloppy eaters and a lot of seed was falling to the ground that against snow made the setup look very messy. This tray has been perfect at catching most seeds from the feeder. It’s also quite sturdy so birds are able to land on it and feed from it. The mounting is universal as long as the pole is no bigger that 1 inch in diameter. While appearing pricey it is well constructed so it should last for many years. The only complainer will be the squirrels who will find far less food at the base of the feeder.

Not as great as advertised
Does not drain as well as advertised. You have to frequently check it (especially after rain) because mould will form quickly in the tray due to the lack of drainage. Also, the tray itself doesn’t fit correctly into one of the adjustable screw on pieces so it really needs to be forced to fit. Because of this, adjusting or cleaning the trays is a huge pain because having to pry the trays out of the adjustable piece causes the contents of the trays to spill everywhere.

Works Great!
Love to feed the birds but they just toss the seed out and it all ends up on the ground. This stops 80-90% of it from landing on the ground and they eat the seed from the tray. Very sturdy and I've seen at least 8 sparrows at a time on the tray.
