Not quite "trackless" but closer than any other mat I've tried!

This is the most effective litter mat I've ever bought, inherited, or borrowed. Yes, borrowed - if you have an indoor cat you know it's worth trying anything reasonable to contain littler bits! This well priced and durable mat is very effective and easy to clean. I do have a couple of wishes: 1. I wish it was bigger, or that they produced long, narrow 'side mats' that could be added to put more mat steps under cat feet. 2. I wish it was not that noisy shade of blue! All in all an very good buy.

Eh, it sort of worked

We still had lots of litter on the floor in front of the box. This thing may work if the cats stop and step on it repeatedly but my boy do their business and jump on out maybe hitting the mat with one or two feet at the most. More real estate is the key to getting all four feet.

The BEST cat litter mat EVER!!!

I bought this item the first time because I love the price. Then, it got misplaced or thrown out by an accident and I could not find the same item so I purchased two more cat litter mats and I kept missing this exact one. So glad that they are back in stock!!!!!! This is the best cat litter mat ever and it is durable. The only thing I could ask for is to have a few more color choices and hope they make the name easy to find it. Van Less LM 1 is a little difficult to remember and it is easier trying to search for cat litter mat. This is very durable, washable, and easy to shake off the cat litter for human and for cats. I have bought two recently and need to buy another one since we are trying out a automatic cat litter machine. This is it and it is so affordable and indestructible and retaines its shape and color as long as you have it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Sadly, litter still made it past

We bought two of these along with two starter litter boxes to add to our house when we rescued two cats from our rural country neighborhood. One was a 4-5 month old female kitten who mostly used the kitchen shower and the other was an older male who went outside. Both were a neighbor's cats but they somehow adopted us. I haven't had a cat since the early to mid 80s. So the female kitten even as young as she was, was pregnant. She ended up having 6 kittens, we supplemented nursing for 3 of the smaller ones. They were born in October. So as they grew so did the need for multiple kitty litter boxes. Then we found out about rugs, cloth, plastic vinyl and so forth. We bought one from a local store that was like a rug with plastic backing and two like this one right here from Amazon. So far neither has managed to keep kitty litter in their area. Another interesting thing is that they pee & poop on the 3 we had bought. We will be adding more litter boxes as they start growing and eating more than just the Mom's milk for the most part. I am disappointed though that it hasn't done what was advertised. Maybe those are normal cats and we have some abnormal ones. I also discovered by people would pay hundreds for self cleaning ones.

My favorite litter catcher!

I love purchasing this litter mat for my cats. Bought one years ago for my other cat. Knew I had to buy again when we were ready for another cat. Works great and easy to just dump the litter back into the pan!

Great product, great buy!

This is the first time I've purchased a product like this, so I figured I'd try the lower priced mat first, just to find out if I liked litter mats. These mats are a great deal for the price! They feel substantial, solid mats. They may be a touch small, but still do a great job. So easy to clean, just shake it out for a quick clean or take it outside and hose it down. I noticed some reviewers thought the co!or was a strange color. They're blue, people, how many shades of blue do you want for this price??? They are a medium blue and neither of my cats has complained about the color. In fact, they told me it was very comfortable to not have litter granules stuck between their paw pads. A great buy and I would recommend this litter mat.

A must buy

This is incredibly easy to clean, whether to dump it back in the litter box or trash everything slides right off and I didn’t realize how big of a difference it was going to make before I got but it’s made my life so much easier

A Van Ness product I can't five star

Arrived quickly in good condition to be used as a spare during mat washing day. PROS: tracks litter well, vacuums or washes easily, neutral colour, affordable. CONS:- the little raised impressions covering the top are hard & to sharp (pusskin did not like that), the mat itself is to small, ( I did not like that). This mat is a hard plastic, rigid and not paw friendly. It is not soft and has no give like the old Van Ness mats did. OUTCOME:-mat needs rethinking & tweaking it wider and shorter, and most important, make it soft and dull those raised impressions. New spare mat is on its way as neither the old girl or me like this one.

Great mat in how it works but it needs to be 4 to 6 times bigger!

The construction and overall design of this mat is good. But it is way too small. My own fault for not checking the dimensions more clearly (I think I mistook centimetres for inches). This matt doesn't even cover the width of the litter box, way too small. It does trap litter well but doesn't cover enough ground. Van Ness, make this 4 to 6 x bigger and you will have a winner. For now, I have to put a towel underneath it and that defeats the purpose.

Spillage & small

This mat is very small. I have 2 cats and, although it does trap some litter, there is still a significant amount that gets on the floor around it. I could have probably bought this at the dollarstore for half the price, but covid and all... itp's also non-refundable, so I will have to buy another bigger mat to do the trick.

Plastic is too hard on cat's feet

A softer plastic on the usable side would have been preferable. It does the job but plastic is very hard on feet.

Hurts my cat

My cat won't take a step on this, even after trying to get him used to it, he jumps right over. So we had to turn the mat over, at least it's easy to clean. But a little to hard for my cats paws.
