Edited Review- Serves it's purpose

Having had this product for a little while, I decided to keep it. Blue color and all! It really serves it's purpose of keeping the water mess from the dogs on the mat and not on the floor.

I love these cat mats

The first one I ever bought years ago was white. It lasted over a decade. The sun has baked and dry-rotted it. Hence, the present need for a replacement. They now come mostly in blue, a blue darker than pictured—more royal than sky blue. Another vendor is selling 2-packs in white or blue, but hearsay has it, they mostly come in blue. I would like white again, but if 2 blue mats are likely to arrive, this vendor sells single blues at LESS THAN HALF the price of the 2-pack vendor; so, more "cost-effective" (as they say in the accounting biz) = it's cheaper to buy one at a time). That said, this is the most charming cat placemat I have ever seen or owned. The embossed relief etching of a sleeping cat is totally delightful. I have seen no similar product that is anywhere near as endearing or desirable. Get it. You'll love it too. Blue or white, machts nix mit old ich. —NC cat lover, adopted parent of 6 felines.

These Matt's are the best quality and best shape to have. Sometimes they are blue and this time they are white. Nothing else compares!

Best Ever

Why didn't I get this earlier?! Why didn't I think to look for this kind of product... Our cat is a little bit silly when he comes to drinking his water for some reason he doesn't lap up water backwards like most cats he just licks the side of the water dish splashing water out all over the floor. We would always put down towels to sop up the water and keep it from getting everywhere but we constantly had to keep filling it up because he only managed to drink perhaps 1/3 of the water dispensed. This mat when kept clean due to the edge and flat surface makes it very easy for Nero to drink the water he splashes out. He loves to drink water out of the shower pan because it is easy for him to get to and this is like his own little shower pan! Best thing ever! It is super easy to clean as well and doesn't seem to attract mildew. A quick drop in the sink and a quick scrub takes care of it. I haven't tried putting it in the dishwasher or anything because it's too easy to simply hand wash. Things don't stick to it very well and it seems pretty hydrophobic so it's easy to deal with. We got the blue one and it looks great. It's low enough that the door doesn't hit the lip either since we have this near the bathroom door and we all know cats like to push things around. Let me know if you have any questions on this product. I paid full price for it and I'd do it again!

Great placemat for serving Kong meals to our dogs!

We sometimes serve frozen Kongs stuffed with food to our two dogs, a great way to keep them calm and occupied for a while. But they make a terrible mess licking and chewing at them, and food inevitably leaks on the floor (or dog bed, where they tend to carry them off to). I decided to fasten the Kongs to a placemat so that they dogs would have to eat them in one place and always have protection underneath. I cut a small slit in the center of the dinner mat and passed a piece of knotted cord through the Kong and then through the slit. Now the Kong stays connected to the placement while they gnaw and slobber. SO MUCH BETTER than wet food muck on their bedding or our floors. We remove the Kongs by gently pulling the knotted rope out. The mats are flexible and reasonably thick material, not rigid, and they seem to hold up to this use very well after a month of occasional use. I think we'll get many miles out of them.

Exactly as described

The mat is a good size, not floppy. I have cats that notice every little change but they accepted this right away. Easy to wipe clean I wouldn’t put it in the dishwasher and I got 2 for less than one of the other offerings Great deal

Does it's job

I do recommend this, but I wish it came with a choice of dog or cat face. I have a dog and I didn't realize until it got here that it has a cat face. Luckily my dog does not have any self esteem issues.

Great for messy eaters

Have 2 kittens - one is SOOOO messy when he eats, this is perfect. Collects all his left overs and easy to wash. Also great if you have a pet who spills water. The mat is thick plastic and holds the water.

Great item, great price

It's small, but easily big enough for a food bowl. I have my cat's water fountain sitting on it. Catches spills and is super easy to wash.

Good value, I like it has little high around the edge so it prevents water all over the floor if it leaks from the bowl or being knock down by accident
