this is the real deal
I won't buy any other kind of extension cord after using these. True to their advertising they remain soft and flexible from below freezing to the hottest summer days and have yet to crack, get sticky, or bleach out. I did need to put a new plug on one of mine after years of daily use but the cord itself is still going strong. If you live somewhere where you will need to be handling an extension cord outdoors below about 40 degrees F (~4C) this is the only thing to get! Yes it costs a fair bit more than the other stuff, but after feeling the quality in your hands and easily coiling it up or deploying it in the snow you'll be sold too.

This Is An Awesome Electrical Cord, Made In USA Too!
UPDATE: October 1st 2020! I am updating this review, because I recently purchased the 25' version of this cable. In the years of owning the 100' cable, it has been treating me really well, and powers everything that I need without issue. However, for power outages, I needed a shorter cable that can transfer power from a generator, to a 10-port power strip. These cables are just wonderful, and I still highly recommend them. I have uploaded new pictures of the new cable as well. Original Review: I bought an electric snow blower, so I needed an electrical cord that was rated for the snow blowers draw, and for cold temperatures. I chose this cable because it was highly rated, and after owning it, I can now see why. I gotta admit, both the box this cord comes in, and the cord itself is beautiful. No part of this cable feels cheap. It is a heavy duty 12/3 100 foot cable. In other words, it is a 12 gauge, grounded, that can handle 15-AMPS continuously, with up to 20-AMPS peak motor start. This cable is also rated for extreme temperatures, hence the word Extreme, on the box. I really like the heavy duty nature of this cable, I love the lighted plug ends, I love how flexible the cable is, and I love how it can power all of my electric equipment, that I own. What I don't love however, is how heavy this cable is. If you are somebody who can coil this entire cable up on your arm, well, you must be a wrestler by trade. This cable only weighs maybe 10.6 pounds, but it feels like nearly 20 pounds to me, and I can't do it. I can barely coil up an 18 gauge 100 foot cable on my arm as it is! So I bought the ProReel Heavy Duty 12/3 100 foot cable reel on Amazon. CONCLUSION: As long as you get a cable reel, you will be fine. Don't buy that cheap red plastic one that Amazon is recommending, its been rated as a piece of junk, as is all plastic. You want a heavy duty metal one. I highly recommend this cable, 5-STARS across the board! UPDATE: February 16 2019 Its just been just under a year since owning this cable, and I wanted to give you all an update on how its been doing. I have been primarily using this cable for my Snowjoe 21" electric snow blower, but sometimes I use it for other stuff as well. I have been using the cable in 20F to 30F temperatures, and this cable continues to remain flexible no problem. This year alone, I have used it 4-times on my snow blower, and it has performed admirably. I still recommend this cable and keep it at 5-Stars.

Very well-made extension cord
Nice sturdy extension cord with lighted end that is particularly helpful in showing that the cord is live. Also aids in finding the end in the dark. Makes good solid contact, even after several years of frequent use. While not inexpensive I’d say this cord is a good value due to the quality construction.

Great cold weather cord
One of a kind flexible extension cord. Actually enjoy using in cold temperatures and even warm temperatures. Coils grate. Good molded plugs will good contacts that help reduce the connectors from heating up true copper cable. Grate colors to be visible in the dark. Highly recommend over every other brand.

Bad kid, tie em up even in zub zero temps!!!!!
ONLY KIDDING!!! But if you're looking for a very flexible cord in sub zero weather, than this is the cord you need, almost. I've purchased 5 of these cords so far and have not had any issues with the quality of the wire in the cord. Yeah one end of the cord has burned out and no longer lights up on two cords, but doesn't affect the cord. I've had one blacken on the female end, but was using a welder that draws 15amps, which is not really recommended by welder manufacturer, so my fault, but still works fine. We use these cords to plug in battery chargers to keep equipment batteries charged up during the winter months. We also use the cords to plug in the diesel trucks block heaters. Used a 3 way splitter on end of one of these 100 footers and ran another 50 foot cord, same but shorter version, to another truck without any issues. Haven't had any shorting issues, but had one cord's female ends difficult to plug heater into. This US Wire and Cable 99100 Extension Cord is not the most expensive nor the cheapest, but does the job it's made for. Tried a cheaper made in America cord, nice quality, heavy cord, but lost 50% of its flexibility below 20 degrees. So you do get what you pay for. For what we use them for we are satisfied and just ordered another for the newest truck. Thanks Amazon and US Wire.

Very flexible in cold leather, nicely made.
The SJEOW cable stays nicely flexible in cold weather, way better than the vinyl covered SJTW thermoplastic extension cords.

BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE AN ELECTRIC SNOW BLOWER
I have slowly switched from gas small engine power tools to electric (I live in a subdivision). Less hassle, less noise, and I don't need the power of gas items. So I wanted a decent chord for some of my higher amp motors. Most of my motors are under 12 amps, and so my 14/3 wires were fine. I just bought an electric snowblower with 13.5 amps, and the 14/3 was on the edge. I figured I'd invest in a 12/3 to run all my electric motors just to be safe. Originally, I bought the US Wire 12/3 "normal" yellow wire. It was a fine wire, but that sucker was stiff as a board in the cold weather. So I returned, and bought this one for $10 more...best $10 ever spent. This wire is slightly smaller in diameter (so it fits better on my roller), and the flexibility is like rope; the jacket feels like a soft rubber, like the good water hoses. I bet you can jump rope with it if you want. The true test was the other day when I had to use the snowblower; it was about 10 degrees out, and it remained flexible; I was able to move the cord out of the way with a "flick of the wrist" to roll it over and out of the way. Bottom line, if you use a cord in cold weather, this one is great. Oh, and after running, no heat at the connections, so it ran 13.5 amps efficiently.
