Decent, but wrong height.

Got this carrier quickly and in the condition promised. However, the height is wrong for this "Xtra Large" carrier. It describes it as being 27" tall, when in reality it is about 17" (must be a typo). Because of this, I had to go get a different one from petco last minute for far more money than I intended to spend. That said, since I now had two, it was easy to compare the construction. Right off the bat I'll say that if you are looking for a general carrier to put your pet in for the vet, in the car, to sleep in at home, etc - there is absolutely nothing wrong with this one, especially for the price. It is easy to assemble, the handle is sturdy, and the gate stays closed. However, if you're looking for plane travel, you'll want to read on to make your own conclusions. This carrier is somewhat flimsy, due in part to the fact that it is VERY well ventilated. The entire top AND bottom portion all the way around has ventilation cut outs - typically you only see this around the top. If you're worried about ventilation because you have a snub/pug nosed pet, you might want to consider this carrier. The other thing that makes it flimsy is that it has 3 clipping latches around the sides and back, which are made of plastic. There are no screws or bolts - although there are 6 top and bottom holes for them if you have them at home. I used zipties through all the holes and felt much more comfortable about being able to carry my pet in it without it coming apart - without the zipties I think the clips on the side would come undone or break quickly, especially if you have a pet that weighs more than 10 lbs. The other bummer is that the top has a little area where you can put your hand through to pet your animal - but after opening it 3 times, the clip no longer caught and it would pop open while carrying it empty, let alone with a pet inside. I also ziptied this shut. I read one review for this brand of the "medium" sized carrier, and they said they used it for a plane - using zipties in the holes (which is where I got my idea to do the same). They said it held up well, so it very well might. I will not be using this one for the plane as it isn't tall enough for my pet and after comparing it to the MUCH sturdier one I bought at petco, I'm much more comfortable using the petco one for the CA - NY trip we will be making. Hope I could be of some help - I was quite frustrated when there were hardly any reviews of this carrier but so many postings for its sale...just my 2 cents.

Great value with (mostly) good features

The petting door on the top was a lifesaver when we first got our puppy! I would put his kennel right by the bed and was able to soothe him when he would cry in the night without compromising our kennel training. However, he quickly learned how to escape using the petting door, so we taped it down with some heavy duty tape and it has not been a problem since. The small water/food dish on the top is also nice for travel. In order to open/close the door, you must maneuver it with two hands, as it does not naturally lift enough to just pull on the top of the rod to open, which is a nuisance. If you are looking for a very heavy duty kennel, this one is not the best because it is not made of heavy duty plastic. Overall a great value with some (mostly) good features.

Sturdy enlightening for a 10 pound dog to sleep in but no where sturdy enough to travel in.

I don't like the fact I would not feel comfortable using this carrier to travel in and airplane. It would not stay together.

Good option for the price!

Better quality than I thought I would get for the price. It does come apart fairly easy so I'm not sure how secure the latches would be if you tried to lift it by the handle. I have a medium sized dog (less than 20lb). I use the carrier to transport but I leave the carrier in the vehicle and load and unload my dog. I've never tried to carry the crate with my dog in it.

Good for temporary use

This crate is good for what I need at the moment i have a very small puppy (only 8 weeks) and this is a great first crate for her give her size. This crate is not made of high quality plastic, but for the size and the price i got it. I would recommend getting this if its going to be for temporary use. I like the fact that it includes a small feeding dosh for travel puropses.

get what you pay for.

Needed a carrier to pick up a kitten, and money was a little tight so this price of this was right. It's not a bad carrier, it's just very flimsy. I found it difficult to secure the latch on the door because the whole thing twists and bends so much. But, it did the job. However, before I have to take her to the Vet or anything I will probably need to upgrade to something that is actually stable.

Missing Pieces

This product would have gotten a much better review had all of the pieces been included. It required 4 bolts and nuts to put it together properly. I had already cut up the box or I would have returned it. Now I am stuck trying to find the nuts and bolts so I can use the carrier. I'm moving so it increased the stress of trying to get my pet safely moved with me.

Dog Carrier Case - SCREWS NOT INCLUDED

Quick and simple to put together. CON: It does not come with screws. The instructions suggest using zip ties. I guess I will now have to find my own screws or either use zip ties. UGH.

Un pò sottile ma ben fatto e sufficientemente ampio e apprezzato dalla mia gattona titty da 5 kg!

Salve, innanzitutto vi devo dire che l'ho montato e visionato solo in casa, senza l'essenziale prova pratica d'uso esterno, per cui mi riservo di modificare la presente. L'articolo però si presenta bene, è bello, comodo nelle chiusure laterali e anteriori a scatto, lo stesso dicasi per la porticina che ha un sistema di sicurezza che sembra ben fatto. Inoltre una chicca è data dalla presenza sopra di due piccole porticine a scatto, delle quali una dà accesso ad un piccolo scomparto che contiene una doppia vaschetta per acqua/cibo e l'altra rappresenta una semplice apertura di "controllo" che vi darà la possibilità di tanto in tanto di vedere il vostro gatto e allo stesso tempo "dargli aria". Sempre sopra è presente la maniglia di trasporto e ho apprezzato il fatto che la stessa non è fissa ma a scomparsa, evitando inutili ingombri. La porticina si chiude tramite un comodo e semplice serraggio a molla con possibilità di applicare un lucchetto per eventuali viaggi in autobus o addirittura in aereo, infatti mi ricordo di aver letto che il presente è omologato per tale uso. Ai lati sono presente parecchie feritoie per dare al vostro tesoruccio aria e visibilità all'esterno. L'unica cosa che non mi è sembrata troppo positiva è il fatto che la struttura in plastica del trasportino non è molto spessa, toccandola non ti dà quella sensazione di robustezza e stabilità che ti aspetti, per cui a mio parere, non ci metterei un animaletto più pesante di 5-6 kg. Dovrò verificare alla prima uscita la tenuta delle chiusure a scatto tra guscio superiore e inferiore del trasportino che verranno sollecitati dal peso dell'animale. Nel complesso per ora mi sento soddisfatto e mi riservo, come detto, di aggiornare la recensione in caso di malfunzionamenti. Se vi sono stato utile per favore datemi un voto, grazie.

Klein und dünnes Plastik

Wir haben uns diese Box gekauft, da wir häufig Pflegehunde vom Tierschutz bekommen und diese gerade in den ersten paar Nächten eine stabile Box bauchen um zur Ruhe zu kommen. Nachdem unser letzter Schützling die bisherige Box aus Zeltplane zerlegt hatte, haben wir nach einer neuen gesucht und sind auf diese gestoßen. Leider ist die Box für alles was über Welpengröße ist zu klein. Da ist die Beschreibung "X-groß" wirklich irreführend. Ich würde da keinen Hund über 25-30cm Schulterhöhe reinstecken und dann auch nicht länger. Das Material ist sehr(!) dünnes Plastik, teilweise kann man durchschauen. Sowas kenne ich sonst nur als Verpackungsmaterial... Ein entsprechend motivierter Hund braucht da keine 15min für um durchzukommen. Zwei Sterne, da die Größe zwar textuell fragwürdig, aber die angegebenen Maße korrekt sind. Allerdings muss man von den ~45ca. Höhe auch noch eine weiche Unterlage abziehen und bedenken, dass der Hund größer ist als die reine Schulterhöhe. Das Produkt ist nur für KLEINE Hunde geeignet und selbst da gibt es wesentlich besseres.

Must come with plastic screws and bolts to hold it tightly together did not I would like these.

I ordered 3 of these dog carriers, 2 of which I received today, only they were supposed to come with plastic screws and bolts to hold it tightly together, however it did not I would like these. I cannot use this unto I receive the bolts and nuts.
