Quality at a price
The soft-close works great, the seat is easy to install w/ no tools, and the seat's color matches the toilet perfectly. The only thing keeping it from being a 5-star purchase is the price. Given the seat's materials, it seems like other equivalent-quality seats ought to be available at a lower price and that I paid a higher price simply b/c of the brand name.

Quite close works well.
One bathroom had a quite close toilet seat. The second bathroom didn't. Bought this one so we would have them in both. Grandson is honor student but couldn't remember witch toilet seat would slam down and witch one didn't ????

Soft-close feature lasts for 10 years
Good product. Purchased again because soft-close only lasts for 10 years. Not disappointed.

Don't settle for aftermarket
This is one area I do not allow compromise. I bought the Toto brand seat to fit my Toto brand two piece toilet, and I am not at all disappointed. Perfect fit and sturdy, unlike flimsy aftermarket seats that never fit exactly right.

in a word "Practically Perfect"
Ok, Ok... So two words. So this is my second TOTO toilet seat in 11 years on this toilet and I have 4 TOTO toilets with this seat. The closer work as intended for the life of the seat. and non have physically broken in this 11 to 12 year time. These are Easy to install and dont move around on the bowl like some. I dont recall ever having to re-tighten them down to the bowl, Which is either a credit to the seat or a discredit to my memory. Could be one or both. Fits perfectly aligned to the bowl and the hinges dont flex like some so the seat does not slide off of the bowl when I squirm around like some (if not most) do. It cleans up easy as well. My mom has had 2 Store Brand seats with closures that fell apart after a few short years, albeit were 20 dollars cheaper ..ahh... Less money per seat than these. To be more accurately portrayed. Now for the Bad: the lid is Hard plastic and the seat appears to be hard plastic as well, but after some years of peoples rings impeding across the surface, they get scratched, as well as where the lid has the 2 stops. When they scratch they sort of peel like as though they were painted or more coated over with a layer. This layer is nearly the same color, to a more darker color, as shown in the pictures. Also where one sits the layer develops mini craters/ bubbles and becomes unattractive and unsanitary. Further, the description says solid plastic. This has been the only issue I have had with these. the one shown is 12 years old. To me, They are worth the Money mostly because they are such good quality but could be so much better if this coating was eliminated altogether. I will try contacting TOTO directly on this as well. Again I've replaced one already And after 3 years is starting to show some peal evidence again. This one toilet is in a very high traffic area in a home of 3 so its not in a professional office building where it sees 60 bums a day. Just a few. Please look at pictures and I will update this listing when I have new information. 2/14/2019 update sent email to TOTO a week ago and have not heard back yet. But I will update.. All Good - TOTO Toilet Seat works good.
This was a replacement for my TOTO toilet seat that I bought in 2008 (complete toilet with seat). Everything installed fine, pretty easy - no issues. The box was missing the hardware to attach the seat. I notified Buildcom (seller) via Amazon by email and got a response within hours. The item arrived in 2-3 days. Excellent service !

Excellent Replacement
The former 10 year old Toto seat and this new replacement look identical to me. Installation was easy. Better to watch an install video on YouTube than follow the booklet. The fit was perfect. The soft-close mechanism for the last toilet seat failed after 10 years. Otherwise, it worked fine. Make sure to thoroughly clean the area where the old toilet was before installing the new seat. The price on Amazon was about 10% cheaper than ordering from the big box stores.

Does the job - little stiff to close
We had to replace a broken toilet seat cover and this did the job. It looks good and seems good quality and durable. Fairly easy to install. It is much stiffer to close than our last seat cover, however, perhaps it will loosen over time and it is nice to not hear the lid slam all the time. I would recommend.

Bad Quality Control
I should of known, the instructions were crumpled, it was in a plastic bag but not formally tape, it was obviously returned them put back in a box without looking to see if it was broken. The piece was put back in place and I only discovered it after I installed it and opened the lid, viola the piece fell off. Did assemble put back in the box repack label find a Purolater drop off. Oh well another on it’s way, what can you do. By the way simple to install Update: received replacement, as it should’ve been, in proper condition, very easy to install, I will echo another review in saying, the hinge isn’t as tight, left to right as the original. It has slightly more ‘play’ but nothing serious imo, soft close all good.

It fits
A bit expensive for a simple toilet seat, but it’s sturdy and it’s Toto and it fit perfectly with the Toto toilet I installed it on
