Great Kneepads
These are better than the rest. Why?? They have a flex joint just above the knee and just below the knee. The snaps are hooked to these flex joints. The result is that these kneepads do not slide down the leg like others have I owned. Also, the gel cushion gives great comfort. The flat surface is great and makes for steady movement with no rocking around like rounded knee pads. These kneepads will protect your knees from wearing out so that you can not walk.

Save your knees
I would have given full stars but the product needs slight improvement on the top strap. It needs to be longer and stretch more to accommodate thicker thighs. There is a loop on top which i plan on running a long Velcro strap. But these pads do save your knees.

Fear no attic
Ran some gas lines in my sister's attic. She has an older house with a low pitched roof, which means you can't stand-up in the attic. Most of the time is spent crawling around. These pads were a life saver. It didn't matter if I put my knee on a 2x4 or a pipe or whatever, the gel pad kept my knee and shins comfortable. It extended the amount of time I could spend in the attic because my knees and legs were happy. The hard plastic front of the pad has a flat area (where the label is applied), as well as some extensions at the bottom with flat tops. This makes GREAT support when on a floor or other large flat area. However, in an attic there is very little flat area, but lots of 2x4s. You have to be sure to hit the 2x4 "square" to contact the flat part fo the pad. If it rests at an angle, the pad will want to twist. However, once you are properly on the 2x4, you can stay there comfortably for a long time. The one thing that bugs me about knee pads is they tend to start traveling down my legs and end up around my ankles. The bottom of these pads rest on the top of my boots, which keeps them up longer than shorter pads. They still to creep down a bit, but not as much. Only design change I would suggest is to have the upper pad extend above the knee, with a strap secured above the knee to keep the pad from sliding down. If they didn't creep down I would have given this product 5 stars. These are the best knee pads I have ever owned. I always bring these pads with me to a jobsite. They have a permanent place in my truck. Yours will too.

Comfort and support
25 year Electrician. These are my 5th set of Tommy Co knee pads, and first time buying the 777's. I've owned all types of the 707's(short versions). My only complaint with the 707's is that they rolled off your knee occasionally, but were the most comfortable knee pad that I found, or compared with on many job sites. All sets lasted several years, or I lost them. The 777's are awesome! They don't roll off your knee with its 2 below the knee straps, they guard your shin on ladders (sore spots on my shin from leaning on the upper rung where you are standing), and they don't slide down ( if you know how to adjust your pant legs). The gel is soft, but firm as always making them IMO the best on the market. I use them bending conduit on the ground, and installing in the air. They feel amazing, and comfortable. People really noticed them since they are covering my shin. People made comments, but after I let them try them they ordered themselves a pair. With this kind of comfort, I don't care what people say.

not half the quality of what the originals were at almost twice the price
Have these maybe 3 months and I haven't liked the buckle on the side that you tighten the straps with cuz the Buckle is Mal designed you really have to force it and I mean it'll hurt your hands just to try and tighten the straps on it they're Mal design because I have a parachute rigger background and I know Hardware these friction buckles have teeth in them that grab and they're really just meant to be friction buckles. update May 13th 2018 Went out to use the right knee pad and as you can see in the third picture it's starting to tear away from the pad just like the first ones so I just want to make the note that the quality on these has gone down down down. The original pair I had for over 10 years and the stabilizers on the cover wore out so they would rock is why I wanted to replace them very comfortable with velcro straps. these buckles are very frustrating and now the second pair tearing away just like the first pair disappointing But as I lo.ok at them after using them maybe 20 times the entire side with the buckles is tearing apart see the pictures I've included I'm going to contact Amazon to see what we can do I'd like to get a refund. I contacted Amazon through customer service and gave him the details on this on a email and within a couple hours I had noticed that a new pair was going to be shipped and then I just need to return the old pair and they're printing out a label for me I didn't particularly want the same pair but it's probably the second best option to replace the entire pair with a whole new set, it won't resolve the Buckle issue but it tells you how excellent Amazon backup Services are, thank you Amazon.

You get what you pay for; well sometimes anyway!
Having tried going the cheap route I opted to try going a bit more expensive. Believe me I do what I can to save money whenever and wherever I can. I am a treasure hunter on Saturdays and as with most that are getting a bit more mature having seen a few more New Years parties than I care to admit; need a bit of padding for my knees. Getting down is lots of fun unless you end up having a sharp rock or stick jab you in the knee cap. One of the nicest things about the Tommyco ATC707 is the soft padding that it provides. I still have issues with the pads sliding down my leg but it still does not do so as much as some of the other models that I have tried. These pads do not seem to slide around my knee as much as the cheaper ones do. The velcro straps seem to hold nicer and more secure than the cheap models. I have tried to snug these down a bit more than I have on some of the other brands but as a plus these do not seem to bind behind the knees. I hope that you will give these a try and see what I mean, comfort without pain. Dave
