I used a micro 25w heater and a small sponge filter. That leaves the large opening free for a plant.

Not for Cherry Shrimp

It's a decent little kids tank and works well but, DO NOT put any cherry or Skittle shrimp in this aquarium with the included pump/filter. They will easily get sucked into the propeller.

Great tank for a betta

Bought this tank for our daughters beta fish. Great size, not too big or small. Prefect for a singular fish and the blue light is also great! She loves that everything glows!

Toxic Material

We have had a total of 4 fish die within 1 months. Have had the water tested twice and all is well so the only thing we can think of is that either the plastic from the tank is toxic or perhaps the light is bad?!

We absolutely love it!

We have 4 Glosfish in here. We have 3 very small Danios and 1 Tetra. We picked the smallest ones to make sure they had plenty of room. We were able to decorate it with a small submarine ornament and 4 plants. We did have to buy a heater and thermometer. Everything has been working great so far. I wanted to go over a few tips in this review. I am no fish expert, but setting up a tank is not as simple as it seems. You can't just add water and throw some fish in there and expect them to survive. It comes with almost everything, but you will likely need a heater. Most fish require the water to be a certain temperature. Glofish are tropical fish which require a temperature of 76-80 degrees. The one I purchased was about $10. I put the description below. I also got a small thermometer for about $3 that you can use to monitor the temperature just in case the heater malfunctions. Test the water before you add fish! This is crucial! This was our first tank so we had no clue. We only added water conditioner. When we went to purchase the fish, there was a woman exchanging her dead fish because they didn't let the tank finish cycling. It can take a few days or longer for the water to be safe for fish if you don't add some sort of stabilizing treatment. I ended up running back home to get a sample of water so they could test it. Good thing I did because it was not ready and our fish would've likely died. We came back three days later and they told us it still wasn't ready. They recommended we add Tetra SafeStart Water Treatment which is basically good bacteria that helps reduce the ammonia and nitrite levels. We followed the directions on there and the tank was ready the next day. My kids absolutely love it! The fish seem to be doing great. We feed them TetraPro Tropical Color Crisps. It's really not difficult to set up at all. The hardest part was making sure the water was safe. Just wait a week or so after you set it up or go to your pet store and let them recommend what you need. And don't worry, most pet stores have a refund or exchange policy for fish. Ours will refund or replace if they die within 30 days. I hope this review was helpful. I know it's lengthy, but I just want everyone to know what they need beforehand. It would've saved us time if we had known. Después de un par de semanas de uso se le salió toda el agua

Aunque llegó completo y en perfecta condiciones y los accesorios funcionaron perfectamente, al cabo de dos semanas se le salió toda el agua, apenas alcancé al rescatar al pez; no se rompió, el agua se salió por una grieta imperceptible a simple vista ya que el tanque de plástico no es una sola pieza, sino que el fondo está pegado a las paredes y en esa unión se hizo una grieta por la que se salió el agua durante la noche. Mejor compren uno tradicional de vidrio c/silicon en su acuario más cercano.

Excelente producto costo/calidad

El producto llego en tiempo y forma de acuerdo a las políticas de Amazon en su empaque sin presentar en su exterior algún detalle de maltrato. respecto a la urna de 1.5 galones es de suficiente espacio ( como espacio mínimo) para tener en buenas condiciones al pez Betta que se muestra en la 2da imagen aunque bien se podrían tener algunos pocos peces Glofish para lo que fue diseñada.. el filtro y su cabeza de poder es lo suficientemente buena para mantener la pecera, hay que buscar recambios de cartuchos pero estos no son nada costosos en amazon. la luz tal vez pudiese ser mejor en cuanto a distribución ya que sus 8 leds azules se concentran mucho en el centro del acuario, por lo que las decoraciones gloFish brillan mas las que se ubican en el centro y se pierde un poco el efecto en las ubicadas en la periferia del mismo. la urna de Acrílico, es de buen grosor. limpio y recibido sin ningún rasguño. Sin embargo recordemos que es acrílico y si no se tienen el correcto cuidado con su limpieza.. como cualquier pieza de acrílico se rallara invariablemente. asi que hay que tener en mente este detalle estético que en un inicio no nos causara problema. la grava y las decoraciones y el calefactor se tuvieron que comprar aparte costando casi el aproximado al precio en oferta de la pecera mismo. pero esto de explica desde el empaque del producto ( grava y decoración no incluido) , un calentador de 7.5 watts plano me es suficiente para mantener el calor de la pecera.

Terrible - very flimsy lid that fish can jump through

I bought this based on the relatively good reviews that I see on Amazon. I have a betta fish in a smaller tank and wanted to upgrade. I got aquarium last night and set it up. This morning I see that my fish has jumped out through the hole at the front of the lid and is on the floor. The hole is obviously way too large and should have a cover for it. In addition the lid is extremely flimsy and doesn't fit entirely 100%. Avoid this aquarium and get a better quality one for a few more bucks at the local pet store.

Different pump than on picture

What I got is slightly different than what is posted on the website. The pump is different. I am no expert, so I don’t know if what I got is better or not. I am not sure if this pump oxygenate the water like the one on the web site. So, I am disappointed. I would appreciate if the pictures and description would match the actual product. I, also, did not get a tetraCare quick and easy aquarium setup guide. There was a piece of paper that kind of explain a few things but it took me forever to figure out how to set up the motor on the filter. That isn’t explained at all. I miss the fact that both the filter and the led lights need to be plugged in separately. I have another setup where they both plug on the aquarium and only one electrical plug is needed. I am undecided as to whether or not I am going to keep it. Comments are welcome.

Nice little tank for plastic

Nice little tank for plastic. Only complaint is the rolled background, which doesn't unwrinkled.. Good home for a betta and a pair of pygmy cories as the filter is gentle.
