Works perfectly
I was getting field mice crawling 2 stories into my Pennsylvania attic via the open corner channel in my 1990’s vinyl siding. I cut the material into manageable approximate 1.5 -inch by 6-inch strips with yard scissors and stuffed it into any gaps I could find between the siding and the house foundation. It took many hours using a mirror and flashlight to completely seal all potential access points around the base of the house and up to 3 feet higher where the horizontal siding met the corner molding. When my roof was re-done I had the roofers use it to seal gaps in the wood where the mice were accessing my attic because somehow on rare occasions mice still got into the attic despite my careful sealing around the base of the house. The material does not rust and is easy to stuff. It is very prickly if you are not using work gloves.

Use the included gloves.
After using this whole package over 3 projects, I am here to say this has worked quite well. Very easy to install. Make sure you use the handy gloves they included, not only will this save you from getting metal splinters in your fingers, but will also save you from electrical shock. I was installing this in an area the mice were getting to in my RV, and as I was shoving it in the hole around where some electrical wires were entering a cabinet, (they were squeezing in the hole around the wires) there was a "spark" of electricity that would have got me good if I hadn't had the rubber padded gloves on. Its been awhile awhile now, and so far so good. I will definitely buy this product again, if another project arises.

Really works!
Once I found the hole outside thanks to a Ring camera, I filled it with the steel wool — it was quick and simple, it really works. Luckily I seem to have gotten it when the mice were all outside because we no longer hear scratching in the walls and we can see them coming back to check their house. Such a relief.

Happy with this kit
I love that everything you need is included in this kit....the steel wool sheet, the scissors, and the glove. So easy to install wherever you want. To stymie the mice and insects, I used it outside where A/C pipes enter the wall and inside under every sink where the plumbing pipes come out of the wall. I still have plenty of product left to fill the weepholes in my brick facade!

Extremely overpriced.
I was going to use this to cover the top soil for my plants because of the gnats from the moisture. It’s hard to expand it, so with the little amount, even if I did expand it I would of probably had enough for 3 or 4 pots. Meaning medium and large pots. As for mice and such you’d have enough for 3 openings to cover the areas. Meaning to wrap around a pipe. My suggestion go to the store , you’d probably pay 2 or 3 times less.

This stuff works really well!
So far, this stuff is working great! I didn't realize that there were huge gaps around the pipes under my sink and when our building started having a problem with mice, so did my unit. I couldn't figure out how the little suckers were getting in. We had an exterminator come in and he put bait stations and traps around, but he told me that he couldn't fill the gaps around the pipes and that I would have to call a contractor for that. The biggest gap was less than an inch so that seemed excessive. After some research, I found this stuff and so far, so good. You definitely need to wear the gloves so if they don't fit, get some that are bigger and have the rubber coating like these do because this stuff is evil and will get through any fabric, even the heavy canvas gloves. And the included scissors are also helpful because you need something strong to get through this stuff. But it was easy enough to cut and I pulled it apart a bit before stuffing it in the crevices around the pipes. Once you are done cutting this stuff, be sure to clean up the small bits that fall because those will hurt if you touch them or step on them or, like me, end up with them on your clothing. Tiny little shard of pain, I tell you. But that's great because it will hurt the mice if they even try to get into my place. I got a paper towel wet and used that to clean them all up. Next time, I'll put down some plastic before cutting, or cut the bits over a bag. Lesson learned. This stuff stays put and I have not heard the mice in the cupboard since. Now I just need to go around my place and find any other ways they are sneaking in. You get quite a bit of it with this size order so I have no doubt I'll be able to do my entire unit with just one package. I highly recommend this stuff if you know where the mice are getting in. I don't know if this is safe to use around copper pipes, but mine were all PVC and one was the flexible hose used for the dishwasher. Do some research before using this around copper because the building manager mentioned it when I told him about this stuff. If I find out more about that, I'll update my review. Or, if someone from the company knows and can comment, that would be great. Overall, very satisfied. I freaking hate mice.

Rodent proofing kit
The xcluder product is great. Living in a wet climate the stainless steel non-rusting wire in it is great! I bought several more rolls after getting this starter kit. The gloves were the same type that is sold as gardening gloves. They are necessary as the little bits of stainless steel wire does impale your fingers very easily if you don't wear the gloves and try to stuff bits of the stuff into cracks. The non-stick bandage scissors are great scissors but they blunted after cutting a couple of rolls. Had to buy some heavy duty metal shears to complete the job. I did a cottage and a shed. If you only have a small job the scissors work well. Glad I found xcluder.

Worth starting with this package, even if you need more
We bought a bulk pack of Xcluder rolls because we knew we'd be using it, but I'm happy we *also* bought this package. It meant I didn't have to waste time looking for something to cut the fabric, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the gloves. You DEFINITELY need gloves to handle this material, because the little metal fibres in it are very fine and sharp. Even though I expected the gloves to be cheap ones that I'd want to replace with my own, the gloves included were great. I have reasonable dexterity in them (they are a little large; I have small hands), and I can actually use my hands to press the fabric into larger crevices without getting little slivers of metal stuck on either my fingers or the gloves. If you have large meaty hands you may need different gloves, but these ones are actually better than the ones I thought I would use (I had some nitrile-coated gardening gloves). The weave of the fabric is tighter than that of my gardening gloves and the coating on the front is thick and durable. As for the probable effectiveness of this stuff as a barrier: you just have to touch this stuff to know that it will be an unpleasant barrier for rats and mice. I've used steel wool before; it's okay but I can handle most steel wool with my bare hands. I was surprised by this stuff – it was painfully prickly even when it was still in the bag. Our determined neighbourhood rats seem to have no problems removing steel wool from crevices, but I have a feeling that this stuff will exact a price. I can't imagine trying to push or pull this stuff with bare skin, or worse, getting those little slivers of stainless steel in my mouth or nose or tongue. Yikes. Some other comments... It might be good to indicate the size of the gloves on package so people will know if they ought to buy a bulk pack alone and some larger gloves. Also, I recommend using safety glasses and wearing clothing with good coverage when installing this stuff. The little metal fibres are very fine, and when you cut the fabric you will be scattering small sharp fibres around your work area. The scissors aren't amazing at cutting the fabric, but they are good enough to do the job, even if I have to work pretty hard at cutting. And I'm happy not to sacrifice a good pair of scissors trying to cut this stuff.

Simple to use
I think I have enough to do the whole block. As another reviewer stated the scissors ain't nothing to write home about but they do the job after you get used to them. It's much easier to cut with metal shears but for the price of the kit, I am not complaining just stating my experience.
