I love these and have no complaints. It always bothers me when people complain that items are exactly what the listing said they were. For example, complaining about the size when it says the exact dimensions in the item description or complaining that pins bend when they're described as "extra thin for delicate fabrics". This brand of pins comes in many different styles depending on your needs. They're a little pricey for sewing pins but they're a specialty item and each style is specially designed for different sewing needs. I bought the extra fine Patchwork Pins in the 1-7/16 length. They're the ones with the mint green heads. They're much thinner than most pins but they need to be for more delicate fabrics.

Not as advertised
A few weeks ago I ordered this same brand of pins in the "Fine .5mm" size. I liked them a lot but also wanted to get a thinner shafted pin. Therefore I ordered this product, advertised as "Extra Fine, .4mm". When they arrived, I found them to be exactly the same size as the first bunch that I bought, i.e., .5mm. I do like the head of the pin, as it is easy to grasp. I have not yet ironed over them so cannot address that point. Just as a carpenter needs different sizes of nails for different purposes, people who sew a lot need different sized pins for different purposes. Having a different color head is a good way to identify the shaft size. To have the purported .4mm have the same color of head as the .5mm is not a good idea. But, the main reason for the low rating is due to the fact that there is no difference between the .5mm and the alleged .4mm. I sew a lot, and have done so for years. My fingers can tell the shaft size just be touching them. However, I also have calipers that were used on these pins, just to verify the size.

Favorite pins
These are my favorite pins I use. They are a little more but the quality and ease if use supercedes the cost. The head if the pin is slender and doesn't stick up from fabric like the little ball heads. You won't go wrong with these pins

Favorite Pins
I never thought I would have much of an opinion regarding straight pins. I moved last year and somehow can’t find my pins. I bought some new ones that had a good review but I hated them. When I saw this brand in a quilting magazine I bought them immediately. These pins are amazing! The grooves make them super easy to pick up and use. I like a fine pin for cotton quilting fabric and these are perfect. I have bent a couple going through many layers of fabric but I expect that. I haven’t found any with burrs so no snagging my fabric. One reviewer said they were too short but I don’t see any issue with the length. Going forward these are the only pins I will have in my sewing room.

Sharp little pins
I like these pins because they are very sharp. I don’t like how fragile they feel or how small they are because I find myself dropping them a lot because they’re hard for me to hold onto.

Great "Magic" Pins
These pins are awesome! I can iron over them w/o the fear of melting the plastic. They are extremely sharp and I love that feature. They are worth the price for sure!
