Very sturdy

Really pleased with my purchase! After researching, I was more impressed with the Medline brand because of the higher weight limit and the stated durability of the top. I made sure my order was sold and shipped by Amazon to avoid product substitutions others complained about with outside companies. The package was double boxed and the interior product box was in great shape. As others have noted, the instructions do not match the actual product. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that putting the table together was simpler than described. The only tricky bit was to keep the expandable portion compressed while upside down to attach to the table top. Very solid construction! A full metal arm goes into the metal sleeve on the bottom of the table and a long bolt attaches at the end. The wheel base extends the length of the top, unlike other tables. I leaned on the end of the table - no tipping. Minor drawbacks: The tilt mechanism is a retractable metal peg that fits into 1 of 3 slots - flat, tilt left, tilt right. There is no gradual tilt adjustment and there is some play in the slot, so the table can shift a little in the locked position. Also, a pot of tea on the top did leave a slight heat mark, so not quite as impervious as promised by Medline. Overall, great for my purpose of keeping paperwork off the bed and working on the computer or watching movies without having to twist to the side table.

Best laptop table ever.

I often use my laptop PC in bed, and after my last laptop bed table broke twice, I thought it was time for a better solution. I chose this table for several reasons: * Amazon.com sells it, and will ship it for free, saving me at least $20 in shipping charges * The table height and tilt can easily be adjusted while I'm in bed * It's ten times as sturdy as my last laptop bed table and costs much less * The work surface is three times larger than my last laptop bed table. No more problems with my 17" laptop falling over backwards as with my old bed table * Even without the free shipping, it was less expensive than other alternatives * The table is long enough that I can use it while sitting in the middle of my bed, unlike some others In addition, it was child's play to assemble, and it doesn't creak at the slightest movement, as my last table did. I couldn't be more pleased with it. Someone else noted that there is only one tilt setting. (Actually, one setting in each direction, plus flat.) This is true, and when I tilt the table until it locks into place, I find the amount of tilt is too much for comfortable typing. Fortunately, when I set the table tilt where I like it, it stays in place even with my laptop on top of the table and my arms resting on it. It is in no danger of tilting more, or dropping my laptop. The tilt tension can be adjusted by tightening a bolt under the table with the supplied Allen wrench. I wish I'd bought this in the first place, rather than my old flimsy laptop table. But I can't complain, because I like this product so much.

Totally Unleveled Defection

This table was defective and in need of help. The top was not level at All-- it is cocked Way up from the open end. Not useable until fixed. I am keeping it though. However, I will be putting shims or stacked up washers and longer screws in to level it, I will have to shop and get creative. The tilt is off also due to the way it was put together by manufacturer , and it does not sit completely flat in the neutral table position-that I Cannot fix. The tilts to both sides are rather extreme also, only three positions available "flat", or tilt from either side. I have the non tilt model from Medline also, with the composition top and it was perfect- except for one wheel was lock broken, so I was surprised and disappointed in this model. I expected much better from this manufacturer! I could have sent it back, but it is a problem taking apart/repacking/mailing, and there is no guarantee any replacement would be better. I will keep it and fix it, but I Do Not Recommend this table-unless you want to chance it, and/or repair it yourself. I was very generous-it really deserves only one star.

Perfect

This can be perfect depending on your bed and the size of your thighs.Your basically laying in between a square bracket shaped table "e.g. like a C shape kinda" so if the height of your bed plus the height of your thighs is about 2 inches shorter than the height of the base of the table top at its lowest setting, then thats perfect. This thing pretty much can go as high as you want but will not go any lower than the minimum height .. (basically hits a stopper when lowering its height) if this could be overcome then any combination of bed height and thigh height could be accommodated easily.. For me it worked out perfect..so just imagine a giant free floating table hovering over your thighs while in bed.. perfect for laptops, reading, snacking, drawing... whatever. you'd do on a tabletop.

Tabletop is good and tilt is good but no way to keep things from sliding off when in tilt mode

The tabletop is a good side and it's nice having the tilt and pretty easy to raise up and down but I never could make use of the tilt because there was nothing to keep anything from sliding off when in tilt mode. Also, I found the casters do not to roll well at all. They have to be in the exact straight position to roll. If they are turned at all, it locks up and causes the table not to roll. My husband said he thinks it had some adjustment to a nut that could possibly have helped but it's in such an awkward place to try to get to do it, he never did attempt it because he didn't have a tool to handle it. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't buy this table. I had hip replacement surgery and was moving the table from the living room to the bedroom every day and the non-functioning wheels were a big frustration.

Perfect for my needs

Easy to assemble, looks nice, the lip around the table is a nice touch, the walnut colour is soothing and practical, the tilt feature is helpful while using a laptop, eating reading etc.
