Great size

These are my favorite mats. They don't prevent water from going thru ( although that shouldn't be necessary) litter sinks into the grooves & is easily swept out. The size encompasses the whole area around the cat pan.

Best litter mat I've tried! Much better than the expensive pop-open ones!

The short story is that this mat traps the litter in the channels, is comfortable for both people and pets to walk on, and despite being thin it DOES keep your feet from stepping in the litter scatter as long as you shake it off once per week. It's the best I've ever tried for keeping the scatter to a minimum and allowing humans to step on it without picking up any of the litter on their bare feet. The long story is... I have 3 cats and 2 litter boxes. I use World's Best multi cat litter in both boxes. I've gone through a bunch of litter mats trying to find one that would reduce the scatter of litter. I even bought one of the fancy ones that you're supposed to be able to pop open and poor the litter out of, but it was a nightmare to clean all those holes of the litter dust or if a cat ever missed the box. It was also uncomfortable to walk on, and the "easy pop open" never opened fully, leading me to have to stick my arm into the pocket to pop it open. Yuck! THIS mat is fantastic, though. The cats don't mind walking on it, so the litter comes off their paws as they walk on it instead of them trying to jump over it. I was surprised at how well the mat traps the litter in the grooves too, so when I step on he mat with bare feet it prevents my feet from picking up all the scattered litter. The comfort and ability to walk on it were both SUPER important, because the litter box is in front of our shower. I won't lie, litter DOES still scatter a bit, but I'm sweeping every 2 days now instead of 2 or 3 times per day that I was doing with other mats. Because of the grooves trapping litter you DO have to shake it very well to get it all out. I shake it out once weekly to prevent the buildup going over the grooves. I haven't had to wash it yet, but it looks and feels like it would be super easy to hose it off in a shower or with a garden hose.

Water / pee resistant

I bought this because it's water (pee) resistant. I bought two litterbox cabinets so the litterboxes weren't visible, and wanted something to waterproof the inside a bit more in case of an accident. This was perfect. I bought the jumbo mat and easily cut it down. It covered the bottom of both cabinets without damaging the mat. She hasn't peed on it and hopefully never will. However it also works perfectly fine as a litter mat. Just what I wanted.

Works great for catching litter! But....

This is my second one of these Fresh Kitty mats. Kind of wished I could find the same pattern as my first one, but no matter... it works very well in minimizing the amount of litter that gets away from the litterbox. Easy to clean too! Update and dropping to a 4 due to packaging!!! It actually is written on the back, that it may be washed in a washer. I set my washer to bulky items so as to minimize churning action... The spin cycle literally drys most of it... Then I toss in in the dryer for a low heat cool down cycle and it's all set to use again. I wish I read the instructions before as I tossed out 4 of them before, after cats having peed on it and it was difficult to clean out the pee as it's a sponge like foam! My other peeve with this product is the packaging with those plastic ties like socks are packed with that plastic string through the socks... Well, socks is ok, but poking a hole through a pad is utterly ridiculous as now, the pee goes through the hole and onto the floor!!! Defeats the purpose of the solid plastic backing. So either block the pin holes made from packaging or lay down paper towels under the mat and or just hope cat doesn't pee on it instead of in the litter box!

Excellent catching litter; I see much less litter in my house. At first, cats were avoiding walking on it, but they got used to it quickly.

Not for all cats

I have a very high-peeing female cat that constantly misses her litter box so I've learned to keep puppy pee pads around the litter box but since they aren't very attractive looking I wanted a litter mat to go over it to catch the litter that was kicked out. I've tried several different cat litter boxes and litter types with her and for the price of this XL mat it seemed like a steal! It's just a thin foam, much like a shelf liner. It helped keep some litter from being kicked around but not much. Also when my cat tried to bury some of the litter you can see the claw marks and tears in the foam quite easily. In the picture you can see where the mat has been stained by cat urine and it is quite difficult to try to clean off. I will replace this mat once I try a different type of litter for my cat to see if that helps with the tracking. I'm glad this was on sale because it lasted not even a week so if I had paid full price I would have been disappointed. I will say for other cats I do think this foam mat would work it's just quite difficult with my kitty.

Best litter mat I’ve ever used

I love this mat! It’s super easy to clean, and it’s the only mat I’ve ever used that actually keeps the litter from tacking. This litter box is in my bathroom, and there is nothing worse than getting out of the shower and stepping onto cat litter. I’ve had this mat for about a month now, and have very rarely stepped on any pieces of litter. Even when I was sick in quarantine and didn’t have the energy to sweep regularly, I still wasn’t stepping on litter. Highly recommend!

Excelente solución

Estuve pensando mucho la compra de este producto ya que pensé que era cómo cualquier otra "alfombra" que se usa en las cocinas para poner los vasos, platos u ollas. Finalmente el precio y mi necesidad de evitar que la arena estuviera por toda mi casa decidí intentarlo. Wow!, qué sorpresa. Lo que la descripción no te dice es que el producto tiene una capa transparente que evita que la arena pase por los orificios (que era mi principal preocupación). El gato se limpia bien las patas y cuándo es tiempo del limpiar su área, lo único que tengo que hacer es levantar el tapete, y con él, toda la arena que pueda tener. No te vas a arrepentir.

Buena sorpresa

Le pongo 4 estrellas porque tuve que solicitar cambio. El primero que me enviaron estaba super maltratado y roto de los dobleces, pero en cuanto solicite la devolución el proveedor me envió uno nuevo y ya solo tuve que enviar el otro. De uso es super práctico. Al principio mi gato no quería pisar sobre el y ahora hasta se acurruca ahí (que loco). Colecta bien la arena que se llega a salir porque mi gato se aloca y la saca de la caja y la que tiene en sus patas también. Aunque parece que esta hueco, tiene una capa transparente atrás que evita que la arena se cuele, así puedes regresarla a la caja. Amo que se lava super fácil con un cepillo y aparte de que se seca rápido. Si la recomiendo, la verdad :)

Some cats eat it

First off, it's kinda expensive for what it is. Sure, it does an ok job of trapping litter, but it's a little tricky to really get it clean - I'd have to invert it over the floor and thump on it to knock out the litter and then sweep, or very methodically vacuum in between all the little holes. It also just kind of looks cheap - for a long while (like 3 months?) it refused to lay completely flat, and instead kept the fold-lines. Most importantly, it may entice cats to eat pieces of it, causing possible trips to the emergency vet! One of my cats never ate any of it, but then I got two teenager cats and bought a second mat, and one of them ripped off a chunk, made eye contact with me as I shouted "noooo", and defiantly swallowed the piece whole. Thankfully, it was a small enough piece that I was not terribly concerned, but if it had been bigger, or if I hadn't realized my cats found it delectable, it could have been chewed to bits and caused quite the vet bill. It also has a pretty intense plastic off-gasing smell for a good long while, and while quite unpleasant to me, it is, I think, what my cat was strangely attracted to.

Muy bueno!

En verdad es grande! Creí que iba a ser más pequeño pero la verdad el tamaño está súper bien (sobre todo por el precio). El material es bueno también, tiene plástico en la parte de abajo para que no se pasen las piedritas que caen del arenero. Es fácil de limpiar y se ve bien. Al principio mi gatita lo brincaba al salirse del arenero pero después se acostumbró y ya lo pisa normal. Recomendado! :)

Really expensive

Product works as advertised. Litter is contained better. What did not work were the creases from the folds never went away and the mat didn't sit flat on the floor. Second is the price. This is quite expensive. Dollarama sells a rolled up version of this mat. It's smaller, but only costs $4. Seeing how these mats needs to be replaced every so often, much more economical to go the Dollarama route.
