Container shape with wide base has low center of gravity
I purchased this gas can mostly because of the shape. It has a wide base which gives the container a lower center of gravity than most other gas cans of similar size when filled with gas. Most other brands are higher with a narrower base which makes them much more prone to tipping over on their side. This gas can is not likely to tip over...unless it is in your car when you are unfortunate enough to roll it. The last thing you want is for your full gas can to tip over on its side, because then chances are gasoline will leak out. Even gas can screw caps with rubber gaskets tend to leak somewhat when a full container is laying on its side. My old Midwest 1 gallon gas can tipped over recently and gasoline dripped onto the carpet I have in the back of my truck (which has a fiberglass canopy mounted on top). It had been laying on its side for days (perhaps weeks) when I discovered it. Now the carpet smells of gasoline. I wouldn't say that the spout with thumb button control on this gas can is "Spill-Proof", but it sure is preferable over today's gas can spring loaded spouts that you push down on your tank's filler neck to pour. Those almost always lead to some spilling either when you place the spout in the filler neck and push down to begin pouring, or when you are releasing the spout from the filler neck in order to remove it. Since the new EPA regulations requiring spring-loaded nozzle spouts with automatic closure came into effect on January 1, 2009, the amount of spilled gasoline in the U.S. surely must have increased by a tremendous amount. This gas can's thumb button controlled spout is the first good design I've seen since all flawlessly and perfectly functioning spouts had to be redesigned due to the 2009 EPA regulation. I predict this design will increase its market share and perhaps even dominate the U.S. market in a few more years.

Easy and convenient
I have several of these containers. I have two 5 gallon, one 2 1/2 gallon, and two 1 1/4 gallon containers. I have a motorcycle and use 4 containers for gasoline. The remaining container I fill with 1 gallon of gasoline and 8 oz. of oil for my weed whacker. The ease and control of dispersement is fantastic. No overflows, no spills.

Ironically leaked from connection
Ok it didn’t spill. I really like using precise filling.. but it kinda leaked where it screws on a bit. Doesn’t seem to fully seal at screw cap. Oddly the measurements are on the corner very far from the clear indicator so good luck putting exactly 1 gallon in it to mix with your 2 stroke oil… I had to draw a line with a marker… on a can with sizes and an indicator. It could be better designed with a couple brain dead updates.. like putting the sizes next to the full indicator… using a rubber gasket on the screw cap… adding a handle to the back, you know where you hold it when you’re actually filling something… if this was a really large can like say 10 gallons and not 1.25 gallon it would be hard to control the spilling.

Really awesome gas can. Just needs two mods.
This is an awesome high performing gas can. It just needs a little help. For the modifications to make this the perfect gas can. Drill a tiny hole in the handle towards the back of the handle. Without a small hole, the can will collapse on it's self. The tiny hole lets it expand and contact. The other is to trim off the child safety tabs to open the lid.

love hate with these
They are weak for what they're made to do. Once they get to half filled, or less, they are really susceptible to vacuum and pressure. So much so that after a season or 2 the container will crack from the flexing. I have used these for over 10 years now and the valve I really like after figuring the best way to use it. Push the valve with the nozzle somewhat up to release the built-up air pressure or vacuum before filling your equipment.

Great cans .
Perfect for filling lawnmowers and snowblowers.

Terrible Dispenser
Not easy to dispense gas while holding the can. Does not always stop dispensing. Better to get a regular spout and carefully pour gas.

Best CARB Compliant Setup
This works really well for filling small things like chainsaws, generators and any two-stroke toy. However, since the nozzle is so big, it often covers the entire hole, so it's tough to see inside - I don't see where having such a big diameter spout would be beneficial on small canisters. It can also bve awkward to use with some toys, like older snowmobiles because the handlebars restrict movement. Big intake, big output... that's fine with me! I like it because it's light because it really sucks trying to fill a small generator with even a 2.5 gallon tank. The device is spring loaded and can be painful if you have weak hands. What I don't like is the device that "locks" the canister's, a ratchet type piece of plastic and with it on there, hurts my hands to unscrew; removing it makes it a lot easier but definitely not the best tightener but doesn't leak.

Exactly as Advertised.
These cans are simply great. Yes, a little more expensive than your average gas can but well worth it. If you’re sick of your garage or car smelling like gas after filling up, these are ideal. So good in fact that I left 2 freshly filled cans in my car for a full day at 30c, got into the car and not even a scent of gas. Brilliant. The pouring action is excellent. The push button and automatic stop work exactly as advertised.

Best plastic gas can I've ever used
Much better than any other plastic gas can I have used, worth the price premium. Before first use, read the instructions as this can is different from the norm. The flat sided design means the can can rest on any flat surface, spout pointing down, making it much easier to use. The larger cap and opening means it is easier to fill, and the translucent stripes front and back makes checking fuel level simple and easy. In use, I had no leakage from the spout or the cap. If properly positioned (easily done with this design), as long as you let the nozzle finish draining once you release the button, before moving the can, spillage is limited to a drop or two. Downsides. The child-proof cap is hard to open (same as every other new gas can), and, it pours noticeably slower than a regular can.

Excelente sistema
