If you cook, this is the cutting board for you!

I cook daily and make almost everything I eat from scratch. This cutting board is an essential tool in my kitchen. It is the correct size for any cutting or chopping that I may do. It holds up well and does not have any cuts from my knives. It does not dull my knives. It will stand up to being put into the dishwasher on occasion but I recommend giving it a quick scrub under the kitchen faucet instead as it will keep it's nice finish forever that way. I have two of these boards and have labeled one for use with vegetables and one for use with fruit- this makes it so my cut pineapple doesn't smell like onion, etc. I have had an Epicurean cutting board for over 5 years and I couldn't be more pleased with how it has held up over time.

Very solid product

We tried one of these prior to our purchase, and the experience has been good enough to pick up another one. These are artificial looking, but have stood up to steady use for months now, and are still rolling. The biggest selling point is that they can go in to the dishwasher. I think that's important enough to repeat. These can go in the dishwasher. I do like the look and feel of wooden cutting boards. The main downfall of them, though, is that they get left in the sink, get wet, dry out, and eventually start to delaminate, making them less useful. The epicurean boards don't, because they are not laminated that way. Ours have still been left in the sink a little too long, from time to time, and they come out fine. So far, so good. The only downside is that I ordered a size that is sometimes a little too small, but that's not a fault of the product.

Lifetime cutting/serving surface

Perfect for using good knives, having clean cutting surface, and even serving! A family member has had the same ones for many years, and on a recent visit it dawned on me that I should have bought them 20 years ago! Don't worry about scratches - it's just character. Flip it over if you want a pristine appearance. Leave it on the counter to slice your lunch meat, veggies and cheese. A quick wash in hot water and you are ready to serve snacks or do dinner prep. Makes a great cheese board. Put hot pots on it! If you want to store it, it takes up very little of the space your old cutting boards required. Dishwasher safe. Great Gift! I'm getting another one for the cooktop area.

Seems very durable, easy to clean.

I finally became tired of replacing my plastic cutting mats because after a couple years they become curly (in spite of not using them in the dishwasher). I bought a wood cutting board and it cracked after a year and was bulky and hard to clean. So after some research, I bought this one. I am veyr pleased with it. It is so easy to wipe down, I can leave it on the counter and wipe it clean. The top surface after use does show some cutting marks but it seems very durable. This is a little spendy, but I think the value is there. After buying one, I bought two more with different sizes to replace my other cutting boards.

Still the best cutting board out there.

Although, it is a bit on the expensive side there are some important pros associated with this board. It does not bend over time due to usage. It is rigid and dishwasher safe. Cutting surface is extremely flat thus providing a precise and clean cut. The only con I can think of is the price. Other than that I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

We have 6 of these boards, of various sizes.

Likes. Dishwasher safe. Extremely durable. Cons. None. We just purchased two additional boards of the smallest size. That makes three small boards for us. The two smaller sizes work best for us. We have one of the large sizes but for our purpose, it’s too big. We wash these in the dishwasher, and they are very durable. These are outstanding items and I can highly recommend them.

Maintenance free!

Only reason to buy this was it's maintenance free. Easy to handle, hold and carry with cut veggies on it. I did not like the visible knife marks after very few uses. I thought it's free from that as well.

I've had 3 black Epicurean chopping boards in different sizes for 6 years now; they are all used on a daily basis, washed in the dishwasher each time and still absolutely perfect. I'm really surprised that other reviewers have had issues with shedding fibres; I see no evidence of any disintegration on my boards or on the food that I chop (including raw chicken breast that would definitely show up black fibres). Yesterday I ordered a natural wood coloured board as a present for a friend and it arrived today. ( I guess I'm being very lucky because I see that another customer didn't get the natural colour when ordered). I think these boards are truly excellent pieces of kitchen equipment and by far the best chopping boards I've ever come across. My husband is quite a serious cook and very particular about looking after his sharp knives and the Epicurean boards are not only kind to knives but light to handle, and, best of all, dishwasher proof. I really can't fault them in any way and am genuinely staggered by some of the negative comments. Must have been a rogue batch or something. Shame cos these boards make kitchen life a LOT easier.

Lightest tough board

There’s scratches after a few uses but it’s still the lightest and toughest board. I use it everyday and the heavy thick old wooden board is only use for chopping bones now.

Great Product

Friend has had this for years and t has never warped, even after being in dishwasher. I am so impressed I bought one. Hate when a cutting board warps. EDIT: IDK what to say, after after 3 months, mine is warped ... Ill have to return this.

Bought for the smelly things..onions and garlic...and the yucky ones like raw meat and cooked roasts. One board for each of them, and they can go in the dishwasher after use with no worries about contamination of my butcher block chopping board. Have not found them noisy to use, possibly because I do not use them for heavy chopping duties. Perfect for the reason I bought them.

It's a gift.

I hope I can provide more information. However, it's a gift to my friend. When I asked what she wants for Christmas, she did not hesitate and chose this cutting board. After she received it, she told me that she already had two of them. They are sturdy and easy to maintain. She highly recommended I give it a try as well. I think there must be some reasons she likes it so much. I would give it a try for my next cutting board.
