It is good for a few jobs but if doing work day ...
Works as described. Mounted on a piece of 3/4" plywood. It is good for a few jobs but if doing work day in and out I would buy a better quality cutter.

just used today. not impressed
cutting 5 mm LVP used on maybe 6 boards and even after adjusting tightening tension screw and various attempts. Still randomly chipped corners of vinyl planks. Luckily most were on the outside edge being hidden by baseboard. have to cut real slow which seemed to help a bit but definitely cant expect to zip through each board if your laying and on a roll. So it did slow us down quite a bit and time was money with three helpers. other than that.. getting board to rest against the straight edge far enough in to cut wasn't easy either. even if you lift the scissor all the way up its hard to get it far enough in before cutting. not sure what im going to do with this yet.

So thankful I bought it!!!!
I was leery about buying this after seeing mixed reviews, but I'm so glad I did. Finished a big tile project over the weekend with Armstrong vinyl tiles. Without this I doubt I could have finished. I honestly don't know why the bad reviews: opened the box, attached the handle and away I went. It cuts fast and accurately. The motion of the unit holding down from the opposite end while it's cutting keeps it perfectly straight. Granted I'm also holding the tile to make sure but this unit was fantastic. The cut edges are clean enough to use as tile edge. Really impressed. The amount of time and effort this saved me is remarkable and may be the best tool I've bought for the money.

Probably good for thinner material
Tried to use this on the Lifeproof 6mm rigid core 12 mil wear layer LVP from Home Depot and it couldn't cut the boards. The bearing for the "scissor" pivot joint snapped out after about 5 uses. When I did use it before the thicker flooring on some peel and stick tile it worked fine.

Works just great with a bit of patience and a well applied pressure/grip
As long as you press down very firmly as you cut, and with a slow, deliberate movement (takes 2-3 seconds to make a cut...it's not like cutting paper in one mere second), while your other hand firmly holds the tile in place, it'll work great. I cut over 34 heavy duty, Armstrong vinyl peel-and-stick tiles without any trouble at all. The cutting action does cut from both the top and bottom, to meet in the middle and this allows for less shifting of the tile beneath the blade, so it works only for a straight-line cut. If you need to cut anything more than a straight line, you'll need a metal square-ruler tool and a heavy-duty cutting blade, or other tools. I just needed straight cuts, so this tool saved me!

Love it! Time saver
I honestly don’t know why everyone is giving this awesome cutter negative reviews. I was skeptical to buy because of the rating of this item but glad I took a chance on this product. I put my own floor down and needed something easy to cut and finish the end pieces since there was no way I could cut a vinyl piece with just a utility knife. Don’t be confused by the reviews this is awesome! Easy to use and anyone can do this. Save yourself time and hurting your hands. Get your hand on this ASAP

Good n bad but it works
Great cutter for tiles under 12 inches. I had to modify it by grinding down part of the lever so it stopped breaking tiles. One hint for you is to warm the tile with a map torch (2 passes) and the tiles cut much much cleaner.

Very Handy Tool
I use "stone" vinyl tile to make floors for my dollhouses. It was a pain to cut all of the small pieces before this. Now using the vinyl tile cutter, I can cut whole floors in no time. It works very well, and I'm even able to cut 1 inch by 1 inch tiles. The trick is to push down firmly and slowly and not try to do a quick chop like a paper cutter.

A slight problem
Unfortunately the bar was bent and the machine did not work as it should. I dismanmtled it and straightened the bar and it now wortks ok.

Did Not Work For Me
Might be good for thin vinyl but did not work with my thicker plank.
