Ignore the negative reviews. This is a fantastic tool.

Sturdy as all hell and locks up tight as anything. Bought to replace a wood handled one that warped - if you're a serious carpenter, skip the bull and get this. It really is the best model I've ever used.

Nice weight, that's it

I thought I had found a decent bevel gauge with a decent locking mechanism- as it didn't have that all too familiar garbage wheel lock, I was convinced this would be an affordable, adequate bg. The locking mechanism doesn't work. I could spit on it and introduce error

Easy to use

I like this very much, I read a lot of the reviews about the knob not being tight enough and was pretty sure I'd think the same, but I have to say once you put some effort into tightening it you really need to put effort into moving that blade... I mean you can for sure and if you pump it you will lose the level but it's tight enough to use in a workshop if you're careful enough.

Easy to use

The end lock is what stands out about this tool. It is very easy to adjust and lock the angle exactly where you want it. This is far better than the typical design, where the flat knurled knob located at the intersection is difficult to grab and tighten securely.

Securing Mechanism Very Convenient

This is the 2nd of this item I've purchased. I chose it for the locking mechanism location given past frustrations with sliding T-bevels with wing nuts, etc. I've been very pleased with the tool's usefulness given the convenient location of the locking mechanism.

If you're willing to take it apart you can make it a lot better.

Tap the orange panels with a plastic mallet to break the glue and slide them off. Inside will be a beveled disk held on by a screw. The disk is very roughly machined and a light smoothing with a file is all that's needed. When you reassemble you will notice it takes less effort to get the tool much tighter. It's strange that the part with the worst finish is the one most vital to the tool. Would be 5/5 if not for this, but lack of quality control on this one part puts it squarely in 3/5.

Needs to be repaired out of the packaging

Glue has failed on both sides of the plastic handle and on the thumb screw brand new. Loctite and some more serious glue will fix it but need to set and tension the screw yourself and I'd be willing to bet that nut will loosen quickly meaning it will need constant maintenance to prevent the blade from moving freely. Otherwise everything looks great on it.

Dispensa apresentações apenas por ser parte do acerto Swanson/Savage. Um sistema de aperto que elimina a inconveniente porca borboleta que atrapalha a utilização quando a suta é invertida. Esperei pacientemente pela chegada e não me arrependo. Pode comprar porque além de ser um produto excelente, o preço caiu pela metade.

Works ok but lock does not prevent arm from moving

The locking mechanism does not prevent the arm from moving completely as I would have expected. Holds it firm but it could potentially get knocked off the desired angle. I'm hoping this gets tighter with use.

Broken before I used it...

Unfortunately the knob to tighten the bevel was falling off before I even used it... I modified it with a grub screw to make it work... would not buy this brand again
