Assembly of container

I honestly don’t know why some folks are complaining about difficulty of assembly! While the assembly instructions were poorly written, as most are, anyone with a modicum of mechanical and spatial skills should have no difficulty with assembly.

Great size for Cushions

This deck box is the perfect size to store cushions for 2 or 3 patio chairs. It is not as heavy and our larger boxes hence the lower score for sturdiness and durability.

Solid deck box.

Solid addition to the deck. Didn't have the pre-drilled holes that the instructions inducated, so we made them.

I really like this for patio storage

Man, I have to say a really like this storage unit. There was a little bit more to putting it together since it has screws and a gas shock for the lid, which is kind of handy. The interior dimensions are a bit wider than the 99 gallon unit we have, but of course it's not as long. But the bigger dimensions means it holds big patio furniture cushions better without having to crush/squeeze them in. It holds about 4 of them laying flat and stacked. The gas shock is on one side, so the other may sag a tiny bit when up, but it has not bothered me. I have had no issues with it not working correctly, and it stays when up it's supposed to. Our 4 year old can easily get cushions out and back in as needed. It is a very solid unit, can be sat on, but may not work great for that as it's a bit on the tall side and would only fit one person on it. However, with the smaller footprint and fitting 4 cushions so easily, I'm really tempted to get rid of our 99 gallon unit for another one these. The double wall construction makes it noticeably more stiff, as the 99 gallon unit with single wall lid flexes quite easily. Finally, we've had this 2 years now, but it looks quite a bit better than the 99 and 34 gallon units we've have a bit longer. None of them are in the sun, so I'm not sure if age just hasn't caught up to this one, or if it has a slightly different finish/coating on it that's keeping it nicer looking so far (no fading/dusty look to it yet). Storage wise, the biggest drawback is that you need to stack bigger 22"+ cushions, so if you put in some cushions and some covers, they won't be side by side to pull one out but not the other (as opposed to a longer bin like the 99 gallon one). I am pretty happy with this unit though. You can see a sliver of light through the bottom of the walls and the bottom plate. I am not exactly sure if that's a enough room for a mouse to get in, just an FYI. It should be able to caulked easily I expect if needed.

Disaster to assemble, but attractive and waterproof

By the end of assembly, I swore a blood oath for vengeance against the design team who created this product. It is incredibly awkward to build and I only persevered because it was the perfect size for the space intended. For context, I am generally able to assemble most items without issue and can complete most handy tasks around the house. Now that it's built, I'm happy with it. You get the full volume of interior space for storage, there are no protrusions of any sort. The lid keeps water out adequately. There are seams at each side around the bottom, so you wouldn't want to place this where any water would pool beyond a couple inches.

Attaching the lid was awkward. Plastic where screws connect is very thin. Looks nice though
