Hair-Pulling Hot Mess: I want to return it!
I bought this for the purpose of making waves in my thick shoulder length hair. It seemed like a great idea because the curl/flatiron combo would also combat frizz. However: It's very difficult to maneuver to hold it taut enough to wrap the section of hair to curl/wave and pull the hair through. On the few times when I can make this happen, hair is inevitably caught around the plates. I often have to manually unravel it with my other hand to free the hair - sometimes this causes burning if a lot of hair is stuck. But it takes many tries to get the wave to stick. If the angle isn't perfect, it results in only a crease mark where I started the attempt and the rest of my hair is just hot, not curled or wavy. Disappointing. I started conservatively but now I've tried all of the different heat settings to no avail, thinking that hotter would make the curling/waving easier. All the heat did was burn my hair more. Every time I use it I have to remove pulled out hair from around the plates. I burned my fingers many times as the hold section is not big enough to get a firm grasp. So be sure to have a heat styling glove handy. I did not know the return cutoff date and after using this just a handful of times and even after watching videos and tips, it was clear that this was not doing the job for my hair. I've had other BaBylissPRO products that I love and I'm disappointed. I'd like to exchange this for another product.

The only thing that works on my hair
My hair does not curl. Ever. A new stylist had either this exact tool or something very similar that curled my hair beautifully so I had to search for it. Amazon is the only place I could find it. It’s taking some practice but has given me some beautiful curls that last with little product. Really happy with this tool!

My favorite straightener
My old one like this finally died after years, and I replaced it with a 1” Babyliss. I was never happy with that one and went it search of my old model. So happy to have it back again. I thought they discontinued it since Ulta no longer carries it.

Curls as well as straightens - my hairdresser has one
The curling iron has blades that extend over the bottom of one side, so that you can curl hair on the ends. The other side is just plain, as a flat iron would be. I like to wear my hair straight with a bend at the end. For this the trick is to make sure the blade side is facing you as you look in the mirror. As you go through that hair section, curve it so the ends hit the blade side. I have a hard time flatting my own hair in back. The ends just look straight like a board (but not attractively I don't think). I am learning to use it to curve the very back. As my hairdressser says, it is hard to operate on your own head in the back! It has 3 temps: 340-400-4xx (never used highest one). I wanted to keep my highighted and smoothed hair from breaking and my old flat iron had no temps. I think the 340 is cooler than my old one. I have another iron that curls on one side and straightens on the other; it is better for full curls than straight and it is harder to operate. This one is great for straightening which I do mostly and with end curl/bend.

HAPPY CUSTOMER FINALLY FOUND THE RIGHT FLAT IRONS PRO THE DEEP CURL STYLER AND THE ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT
OK I WROTE A BOOK ABOUT MY OTHER NEW BABYLISS STRAIGHTENER AS I STATED ON MY OTHER REVIEW RECENTLY GOT BOMB HAIR CUT AND I WAS TIRED OF MY FLAT IRON THAT DID NOT REALLY GET MY HAIR STRAIGHT EVEN AFTER HAVING TO GO THROUGH SEVERAL TIMES YUCK. TEXTED STYLIST AFTER BUYING 2 OTHER WHACK FLAT IRONS ONE FROM SALLY'S AND SUPER WHACK ONE FROM TARGET. BOTH TAKEN BACK IMMEDIATELY. AFTER GOING OVER MY HAIR WITH MY NEW NANO PRO STRAIGHT FLAT 1 1/2 IN I WENT OVER MY HAIR WITH THIS ONE OMG IT WAS AMAZING BECAUSE IT MADE AN AMAZING BUMP LIKE I WOULD ALWAYS TRY TO GET FROM THE REGULAR STRAIGHT FLAT IRON I AM SUPER EXCITED AND HAPPY THAT I BOUGHT BOTH OF THESE. I GOT BOTH TO SEE WHICH ONE I LIKED AND WAS PLANNING TO SEND THE OTHER BACK SITTING UP LOOKING FABULOUS AND DID NOT EVEN HAVE TO WASH MY HAIR MADE MY HAIR LOOK LIKE NEW WHEN I USED BOTH. MY HAIR HAD BEEN WASHED ABOUT 4 DAYS AGO AND I WANTED TO WASH IT BECAUSE FIGURED MAYBE BUILD UP AND PRODUCT WOULD NOT GIVE ME A GOOD RESULT BUT UM UM I LOOK LIKE I JUST WALKED OUT OF THE SALON AND I DID NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH A WHOLE BUNCH OF TIMES NOR DID I HAVE TO PICK UP SECTIONS I WAS ABLE TO PICK UP ALL OF THE HAIR AND IT WAS AMAZING SHINY AND PURRRRTY YAYYYYY PEOPLE CAN YOU TELL I AM SOOOO HAPPPY THAT I NO LONGER HAVE TO SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT FLAT IRONS I GOT TWO TODAY AND I AM FEELING REAL GOOD.

Excellent straightener
This is my 2nd one and it's my favorite I use it the most out of all my straighteners, (I have 3) it's great for finishing up the ends.

There is a learning curve...
About me: dark blonde hair/ blue eyes scottish descent. I have very thick-wavy ( wavy mostly at crown) hair, my hairdresser says that the strands themselves aren't very thick but that I just have A LOT of hair. That being said I normally use a 3" flat iron at max temp and straighten my hair in 3-4"sections. With this C styler I notice I can straighten it in almost half the time using the same method. I have yet be able to master the curling technique on myself but had little trouble being able to do it on a friend. (My sister has the babyliss 1" flat iron so if you don't care to try the curling with this check that out) I do like that its easy to flip my ends under so it looks more natural. Some reviews mention it "crimps" your hair in spots but that only happened to me once, which I think was because my hair was still slightly damp. I turned down the temp and had no futher problems. It is best to use after blow drying. I normally blow dry with a paddle brush first then use the c styler after. My hair is very smooth, shiny and natural when I'm done. Average time from out of the shower to out the door ready is about an hour compaired to before time of one and half to two hours!

Cher pour ce que ça donne même si qualité
Chauffe bien, pas évident d apprendre à manipuler, j arrivais à faire boucles avec fer plat pourtant. Par ailleurs, au début, bouton on off accroché facilement et met le fer à off sans me rendre compte. Sinon, bon fer.
