Cheaply Constructed, Works as Intended For the Most Part

UPDATE: So they lasted about 2yrs. All but one of them has broken and/or quit working. I still maintain the plastic on these is crap. But, you get what you pay for. I would have expected better from Sterno. Bought these to replace the AC powered landscape lights at my girlfriends house. She has 5 Crepe Myrtles (hate those trees) in her front garden. Initial thoughts when opening the package was these things are very cheaply built. The plastic and the other construction was very cheap. I bought 6 of them and was able to make 5 work. The first issue was the stake for the ground. You press the stake into the base and then push into the ground. One of the 6, the stake just snapped off pushing into the dirt. I had actually dug a starter hole for it, to avoid this very thing. Now we are down one stake. Another light, would not even come on with charge. Disassembled to check batteries and solar panel. Solar panel had a solder joint broken off. Took the solar panel off of the light with the broken stake and replaced. Fixed that one. Lastly, adjusting the set screw to set the height of the solar panel on one light, snapped the whole neck and everything on the light. Just crumbled in my hands like a cookie. So I took the broken stake light, replaced the stake with the crumbled cookie light and then replaced the solar panel (that had been since moved to the broken solder light) with the crumbled cookie light solar panel, and made a whole 5th light. So I effectively have 5 working lights and 1 pile of garbage. Now to the operation of the lights. They ACTUALLY do operate as intended, most times. Obviously, if its rainy or overcast, they do not get a good charge but they still come on for part of the night. On a good charge, I have had them come on at around 6-7pm in the evening and still be on (dim of course) at 6am. The toggle switch on the light (bright/dim) is junk. You can switch it but most times you have too jiggle it to get the light to come on. I would set it and forget it. The water resistance of the lights is "ok". I have had two that get condensation inside the lens. Not surprised, if you dismantle one, you can see the cheap seal that is used. Actually surprised they don't get more water in them. All in all, for what I wanted them for, they are doing the job. I have had them in there since June-ish, and they still work (which I am very surprised based on construction). So, aside from the cheap construction and parts, they do work.

Great product, better value.

Wanted to purchase something that would provide a bit of additional security while creating good accent lighting/curb appeal. These were exactly what I was looking for. Quality construction, great, powerful light, and sustainable power. The instructions were simple and straight forward, making for easy assembly straight out of the box. The tent-stake style base made for easy installation, and the pivoting solar panel allowed for placement anywhere. The lights themselves are exactly what I was looking for. They're a bright cool white light, and even on the low setting they can be almost too powerful if you don't have them positioned correctly. The light pivots easily and stays where you set it, so adjustments were easy. When properly angled they provide a great amount of attractive ambient light that's not too harsh but provides the right amount of extra illumination for safety and security. The housing feels solid and waterproof (it's survived a few blizzards so far), I'll revisit the review if it doesn't hold up. My only concern was the packaging. The product's box was too small for the lights themselves, so they were a bit exposed inside the shipping box. I was initially concerned but it turned out to not be an issue. For the price you definitely can't go wrong with these. I'll be purchasing again to make a bigger set.

Spotters

I’ve purchased a few. They send in pairs. My issue is there is always one in the bunch that has been faulty - new out box They start to blink after a few days. Changed batteries which I should not have had to- still blinks. Problem - have to send them both back. So I have 1/2 my lights purchased. Won’t order again.

Sturdier built than other brands, strong light output, long lasting charge.

They look nice and work well. They were exactly what I was looking for. I plan to order several more to put all around my back yard and the pool area. I live in the country and I placed the lights out which was followed by a couple of partly cloudy days and they still lit up nicely. Easy to assemble and seem sturdy so far. I've bought a few other brands prior and these are definitely my favorites. The hinges are much sturdier than other brands I've tried. I highly recommend.

Accent lights make a yard jump at night!

These lights are nice and bright. They have 3 rechargeable batteries already installed. Although one came damaged, Amazon accepted a return so I ordered 4 more!

Didn’t hold charge for very long

These only hold a charge for about 2 hours. I live in CA and it gets sun all day. Also, only one of them worked. I purchased to light an area in my backyard to keep a pesky skunk away. Fail

Annoying Flash on low Battery

Give a good light when Battery fully charged. Needs to have full sun for at least 8 hours to fully charge battery Then goes into a neighbour annoying flashing mode. considering putting decent quality rechargeable battery to see if this fixes issue

not so bright

These lights are not so bright and after using these lights for some time, these lights have lost the brightness strength. Also the installation is not so easy. With such a short life span of these lights, i will not buy again.

Fully charged, they last all night.

The only issue is the lack of full adjustability of the solar collector.
