How do you not love Philips Hue lights? They are so cool and generally work well that you figure they are worth the price tag. So, you buy a bunch more. HOWEVER....with such a high price tag, they had better be reliable. They are not as reliable as they should be. I've had a number of very expensive pieces of equipment, including this power supply, go bad in less than 2 years. Be prepared. You are going to spend a lot of time troubleshooting and spending more money to replace items in your system that have failed. And Philips definitely does not stand behind their products – service takes you into a black hole of non-native English speakers. One of my power supplies had a serial number that was known to be defective. The Philips website says if you send in a photograph of the unit with the serial number they will send you a new power supply. Forget about it. Nothing but wasted time on the phone with people that have not helped. Beware! UPDATE: they finally came through with a replacement -- and replaced the bulbs that failed as a result of the power supply failing!

Excellent landscape lighting system - easy to install!
I bought these Philips Hue lights for my front yard since it’s very small (I only need 4 lights) and I wanted to do it myself (so it had to be easy). This product fit the bill perfectly! It was very easy to install - no need to add a transformer since it’s already included in this power supply. In addition to the power supply, I bought one Calla outdoor pathway light, three Lily XL outdoor spotlights, three cable extensions, and a Hue bridge. I am very pleased with the results. I was concerned that the light cast from the Lily XL spotlights would be too wide (I wanted to regular spotlights but they were sold out) but I find that these spotlights cast a lovely soft glow into a large tree and softly frame my front windows to accent the architecture of my home. I have an Echo Dot which can be used in lieu of the Hue bridge but opted to buy the bridge instead since I do not use my Echo Dot all the time. Set up was very simple. I downloaded the app and it’s easy to change light colors and routines. These lights are a little expensive compared to other landscape lighting options but Philips Hue landscape lighting was a better option for me since I didn’t need that many lights. If I had a large yard and needed more lights or knew I’d never want to change the light colors, it might make more sense for me to get other landscape lights. But this was a perfect option for me! It’s rained several times since I installed these lights and it’s been below freezing at night. No issues so far.

Already but to be actual new
Bought two. Neither still sealed as new and both with scratches on the bottom indicating previously purchased. Further, asking for a rating of motion detection is irrelevant as they are nothing BUT power supplies. And yet the description still reads NOT power supply but that's their entire purpose.

Expensive but excellent
So, these are obviously on the expensive side. In addition to buying the light, you have to buy the power source separately. The downside is is that each power brick only has enough to illuminate one of these lights. All that being said, just like all the other Philips hue lighting products, these are excellent. I like the first one so much that I bought three more to illuminate other areas around my backyard. Lots of compliments from friends and guests.

Works as intended
As all Philips hue products, it is overpriced for the product but it all works and I haven’t had issues. Only marked down a star because of the cost.

Let me run two outdoor strips for my deck rail
We used this to drive two outdoor light strips for the underside of our deck rail. The install was easy as possible- two screws to hold it in place, and plug it in to the wall and lights. That’s it! Immediate landscape lighting at its most simplistic.

Good and powerful, but such a short cable....
This is the power supply I need for my garden lighting, but the cables are so small, both to the AC outlet, and to the low voltage lights. Until I get extensions, this puts the box right in the middle of my front walk.

Returned it, but it looks great
Returned it because it was finally not needed on my project, but it looks to be of great quality, the plugs are nice and the matte black is a Philips Hue always great touch.

Indispensable para luces Hue de exterior
Buenas calidad aunque algo e ok elevado el precio. Es una pena qué Philips te haga comprar este "accesorio" indispensable por aparte. Sin embargo los cables son gruesos y tiene la base orificios para poderla colocar en paredes o fijar al piso.
